I googled and found a review by an Australian priest here:

That this is being allowed “from the highest levels” seems to suggest a very healthy view of encouraging open discussion by competent theologians. This would seem to be the opening of the discussion on the Reform of the Reform, IMHO. We have heard it is coming. Even the New Liturgical Movement blog makes a brief comment about this.

” Magister on Romano Amerio

[I spoke yesterday of a sense of a shifting mindset that alllowed those who adhere to the classical liturgical tradition to be perceived finally as more mainstream than they have often been characterized. I would propose that in addition to that, we are moving into a phase where it has finally become more acceptable and mainstream to ask earnest but critical questions about the implementations, generally, following the Council, and looking to a re-evaluation of the same. This particular article by Sandro Magister strikes me in a similar vein.]”

Yes. I have NO desire to get involved with the Society of Pius V or the legacy of Archbishop LeFebvre, as long as they are in schism.

But frankly it’s perfectly orthodox to think that Vatican 2 was largely a failed council and a mistake. We have Christ’s promise that the Church will never err in its papal and conciliar teachings, but we have no promise that there won’t be wicked popes or feeble, useless, and counterproductive councils. Only that they won’t teach outright heresy.

I haven’t made up my mind about that, and probably it will be a few hundred years or Judgment Day (whichever comes first) before we will have enough historical perspective on it to be sure. Maybe for some reason the Church needed a shaking up. But the results certainly appear to have been destructive.

http://thenewliturgicalmovement.blogspot.com/2007/04/more-on-new-angle-of-attack-on-churchs.html

The New Liturgical Movement has a link to an article in a San Diego on-line paper that seems to show what the “counter-attack” will look like. I point this out since Shawn Tribe of the NLM has good contacts and instincts. He notes this is an embellishment of the “note” first posted by John Allen of the NCR in his article.
