To: Always Right

It’s all up to interpretation. A few years ago I gave a second listen to “Lovesong” by The Cure and thought it was about Eucharistic Adoration. Now I can never go back to the figure ground this simple love song, and I like the tune even more to boot.

Whenever I’m alone with you
You make me feel like I am home again
Whenever I’m alone with you
You make me feel like I am whole again
Whenever I’m alone with you
You make me feel like I am young again
Whenever I’m alone with you
You make me feel like I am fun again

However far away I will always love you
However long I stay I will always love you
Whatever words I say I will always love you
I will always love you

Whenever I’m alone with you
You make me feel like I am free again
Whenever I’m alone with you
You make me feel like I am clean again

However far away I will always love you
However long I stay I will always love you
Whatever words I say I will always love you
I will always love you

There is a lot of this sort of thing in some modern lyrics. People are searching, and the Spirit speaks to them.

I DEFINITELY think that wasn’t the intention of The Cure, but I like where your heart is. :^D

You owe the oracle a copy of the first Christmas album to feature Fat Boy Slim’s “Praise You.”

(”I have to celebrate you, baby; I have to praise you like I should.”)
