Allah means God in Arabic. Chaldean Catholics are Christians. I’ve seen many an Arab prayer book at my parish in Sterling Heights, MI.
When the Chaldeans speak of our creator, they say Allah to other Arabs and God to English speakers.
Now, we know what is right, but yes, they believe that their god is our God. I believe that Our God is their god. They just got messed up along the way. Want to keep going? Check into the Baha'i followers.
There was very few who disagreed. That told me more about the board than I wanted to know.
You are right.
One of the mission groups I give to has missionaries in Russia, and they have said the same thing.
>>For me it was when a thread was started that said the Catholic Church should focus ecumenical talks with muslims and disregard Protestants, since muslims believe in the Immaculate Conception of Mary.<<
Yikes! Disregard the Protestants? Well the libs run wild there. A poster named Joysong has to be Karl Keatings MIL. She rules the roost and probably posted that thread.
I have a friend who is still on the forum. He asked me what happened and then invited me to another forum.
I told him that I am so blessed to be tossed and I’m not going on to another.
Since you never got around to answering my question in post 137 about how many denominations there were in the Catholic church, I found an answer on another thread.
“At present there are 22 Churches that comprise the Catholic Church. The new Code of Canon Law, promulgated by Pope John Paul II, uses the phrase “autonomous ritual Churches” to describe these various Churches (canon 112). Each Church has its own hierarchy, spirituality, and theological perspective.”

all of these recognize the pope as their leader, and all share identical doctrine, those aren’t denominations.
The problem is that firstly Protestants suggest that the Bible is the complete unabridged faith manual (which the origins of the New Testament make plain isn’t the case and wasn’t intended to be), and secondly they assume that any given INDIVIDUAL receives the Holy Spirit at whim, which the Bible never claimed. The Bible mentions that Christ would send the Holy Spirit to his Church. Frankly that makes it questionable whether folks separated from the church even receive it.
