But, why? English is my language
preach to me in my native language. In my youth I suffered through Latin Masses, beautiful, but not understandable to the average citizen..

Funny, I understood the Latin mass perfectly. I also understood that the Priest was not addressing to me but to God. The missal made it possible for me to know what the words meant. But the actions could be interporeted by any child. The Epistle and Gospel were in English, as was the sermon. My problem was the sermon, but few priest were gifted preachers. The minister at the Presbyterian Church I formerly attended gave much better sermons.

Gee — Muslims everywhere use Arabic to worship Allah and Jews use Hebrew. I think that members of the Church can figure out a bit of Latin. My barbarian ancestors did it.

Then don’t attend a Latin Mass. It isn’t all about you and what you want anyway, it is about Jesus.

The homily is always in the vernacular.

preach to me in my native language. But why is it all about you, and not the universal language of the Church?

All the preaching is in the vernacular.
“In my youth I suffered through Latin Masses, beautiful, but not understandable to the average citizen..”
Nonsense. Illiterate peasants in the Middle Ages learned to understand it. Surely you can too.

Ever try attending a Mass in Lyon? Or Munich? Given that my knowledge of Latin is superior to my knowledge of French or German, I'd much prefer to be able to attend a Mass in Latin while in a foreign country.
The world is a lot smaller today than it used to be. Catholics from all nations should be able to come together to celebrate in a common language. Latin works for me.
And of course, the move back to the Traditional Mass isn't only or even predominantly about Latin. It's about a return to worshiping God, not man or the "community" at Mass.
