"It looks as though it will take two years for us to have adequate earning power again, so we are looking for people who will help us monthly for two years," the e-mail said. "During that time we will continue as full-time students, and then, when I graduate, we won't need outside support any longer."
Haggard left the 10,000-member New Life Church late last year and resigned as head of the after a former male escort accused Haggard of paying him for sex.
Mike Ware, an overseer for New Life Church, told The Gazette of Colorado Springs on Friday that it was premature of Haggard to release the statement without first consulting the overseers.
A New Life spokesman did not immediately return a phone message left late Friday by The Associated Press.
Haggard received a salary of $115,000 for the 10 months he worked in 2006 and an $85,000 anniversary bonus before the scandal broke, The Gazette reported. Haggard's severance package included a year's salary of $138,000, and he collects royalties on his book titles, the newspaper reported.
El Paso County records show Haggard's home, which has been up for sale, has a market value of $715,051.

When I was in seminary I had various jobs...one of which included cleaning bathrooms in a high tech factory. Humbling, but it helped pay the bills.
See the video “Jesus Camp”. This is a sad commentary.

Yes, Mother Angelica!
Because gay hookers cost money.
I think that this very venue asks, no, begs, that it is populated with folks that will send in their last dollar to the guys with the best hair.
I submit that it is not the individuals, but the venue, that is abominable in the sight of the Lord.
I fercely differ that Billy Graham earned any reproach—particularly any significant reproach at all.
He would get off of an elevator earlier than his floor if he was alone and a woman got on alone.
That was just a sample of the integrity he followed in every area of his life to the best of his ability his whole adult life.
Thankfully, God is his score-keeper, not self-righteous, prissy, vain-glorious folks who think they have a right to look down a long finger at him.
I’m disappointed at your insinuations with this post, Alex.
And she needs a new man.
Technically, she is not a tele-evangelist
Sad....
Sad... Sad... Sad.... Sad... SAD !!!
D. James Kennedy?
Absurd. Might be a little tough for them to find paying clients once they enter those fields too.
“He must need more crack cocaine and male prostitutes.”
He did Meth and got massages from a gay male masseuse.
:D
Ya never know. Paula White is playing ‘spiritual advisor’ to a divorced pastor who is the son of a divorced pastor. She’s been divorced once before too, so has her husband. And here they go again. Still, apparently she’s advising this guy.
...Deceiving and being deceived...
Certainly Juanita Bynum will start advising abused women and continue talking about how to have a wonderful marriage...
And Haggard will advise young men struggling with their sexuality...
Ya know, back home where I grew up they made copper post cards.
The individuals too.
lol that’s not nice!
You caught that huh? That’s why I excerpted the END of the article and not the beginning. :-)
