Begging forgiveness of Islam? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Posted: November 27, 2007 1:00 a.m. Eastern It was predictable in this age of wishful thinking. After 138 Muslim leaders last month wrote an open letter to Christendom calling ostensibly for peaceful coexistence and mutual understanding, self-proclaimed Christian leaders and other celebrity Christians took the bait. The appropriate response would have been to search their own Scriptures, to get down on their knees to beseech God to give them wisdom, to seek the counsel of others, particularly those expert on Islam, history and the persecution of the church in Muslim lands. Instead, some get-along-with-the-world Christians apologized for the past and current actions of their fellow churchmen in defending their lives and their beliefs against Islamic aggression and terror. Among more than 100 theologians, ministry leaders and prominent pastors, signing the letter were Jim Wallis, president of Sojourners, Rick Warren, senior pastor of Saddleback Church and Leith Anderson, president of the National Association of Evangelicals. As a Christian myself, I want to make it very clear these men do not speak for me. More importantly, I do not believe they speak for Jesus. (Column continues below)-SNIP-

Again.

I want to beg the Muslims for forgiveness if I haven't made it clear that this is so.
Semper Fidelis
SEMPER FIDELIS BROTHER.
GREAT TAG-LINE!
Islam is about total domination, submission or surrender, maltreatment and/or death to us "infidels."
The "god" they worship does NOT send his son to die for the sins of mankind, he demands blood of non-believers and none of his adherents know until after death, whether he will allow them into Paradise (though they are assured a spot by him should they die while killing infidels.)
>Not exactly a "religion" with which I can find "common ground."
No way I’m ever kowtowing to some moon god. P#ss off muzzies. I’ve seen your handiwork, heard your lies and read your lousy bloody history. You’ll have to kill me first. Hey Semper Fi’s, pass the ammo! they’re not taking this old grunt without a fight....no “chop chop square” coming at a mall near me...danged pagan idol worshipers.
Allah <> YHWH
No common ground there. It’s like comparing the nature and behavior of Bill Clinton with that of Ronald Reagan, both of whom were referred to as President of the United States. Hardly a proof of sameness.
YHWH is a personal God, who is relational - in perfect relationship in the Trinity
Allah is an impersonal being. Allah is not relational. There is no "love" in Allah.
Categorically, they are different beings.
Gee...Why can't Warren or Hybels discern the difference?

under the title "Rick Warren's Inquisition"
I like their comparison to this buddying up to Islam and every other religion under the sun, BUT...
In ironic contrast, Rick Warren advises:
"Youve got to protect the unity of your church. If that means getting rid of troublemakers, do it." "As pastors, as shepherds of Gods people, its our job to protect our congregations from Satans greatest weapon disunity," he writes. "Its not always easy, but its what weve been called to do "
They go on:
Has it ever occurred to Rick Warren that pastors have been wrong? Has it ever occurred to Rick Warren that pastors might teach unbiblical principles? Has it ever occurred to Rick Warren no earthly pastor is the recipient of all Divine revelation? Has it ever occurred to Rick Warren that pastors have led entire flocks into grave error that may have eternal consequences?
Has it ever occurred to Rick Warren that he, too, might be capable of such mistakes?
Rick Warren makes a spiritually fatal error when he proclaims, without any biblical authority, that Satans greatest weapon is disunity. That is simply not true. The Bible reveals over and over again that even one spirit-filled believer can stand up against Satan. God is not impressed with numbers. He doesnt need numbers for victory. He doesnt care about big churches. He doesnt care about the cathedrals of men. He wants numbers only because He is "not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance" (2 Peter 3:9).
No, Satans greatest weapon is hardly disunity. His greatest weapon since his fall and since the Garden of Eden has been deception. In fact, Satan loves unity as long as those unified are knowingly or unknowingly serving him. Hed love for all of us to "go to hell in a handbasket."

I pray you are still correct...
Allah ≠ YHWH
Is that a trick question? :-)
Satan himself will be needing a parka before I would ever apologize to anyone from the cult of murders.
Same thing
Warren is making the same mistake that clerics often makes, which is to think they can control the way the men see God. They must teach the truth and pray that we learn.
