The "Star of David" -- which wasn't a popular symbol of Jewry until the 18th c. when it was adopted by the Rothschilds (though it was known before then in post-Temple Judaism and is found in a few synagogue decorations) -- is actually a hexagram with 6 points, 6 equilateral triangles, forming a 6-sided hexagon interiorly. It is the ancient star of Remphan (Moloch , Chiun, or Saturn) and Ashtoreth mentioned in Amos 5:26 and Acts 7, and one of the most powerful symbols used in Freemasonry,No, actually. There is no six-pointed star used in any Freemason symbolism of which I am aware. Nor have I ever seen it depicted on anything in such a way. The closest you might come is to a radiant Sun beaming down on working Masons, but that is clearly an entirely different symbol.

I found a great book at a local Catholic Bookstore. Each page was a beautiful illustration, with the information about the symbol on the back of it. You cut the symbols out, and laced a ribbon through the hole at the top, to hang them.
I went outside and cut a small tree with lots of branches, which were bare, since it was November. I put it in a pot and set it with Plaster of Paris. We used that tree for many years, for those Jesse Tree ornaments. In addition to the Jesse Tree, we always had the Advent Wreath, lighting the candles each Sunday at dinner, and an Advent Calender that had the little chocolates. The kids really liked those. ;o)

I appreciate your feedback. Glad you stopped by. Check out the other Jesse tree thread in the daily readings. It has colored pictures that you can cut out for this activity. I’ll go get it and ping you.
