Eagle Scout ordered to take God out of park project

I can't post the article, but basically it mentions a Boy Scout's Eagle project for a public park that included a mention of God.

After the inevitable complaint, the Parks Dept, which approved the original proposal with "God" included, asked the Scout to remove the offending marker.

Forwarded this to Liberty Counsel. Don’t be surprised if this decision is reversed in the next two weeks.

"But the personal expression is not appropriate on public property."

With this logic, they could just as easily ban free speech on public property because it represents a personal expression. Free speech only on private property and only if nobody else hears it.

"Somebody can be offended by something, and be able, with a single complaint, to turn a whole city against us."

What America's come to.

I wrote this up as an ACLU Outrage for the website of the American Civil Rights Union. I suggested that the solution for the anonymous jogger who got his panties in a bunch was not to remove the "God stone." Instead, another stone should have been added that says, "If you are offended by the previous stone, we suggest that you ignore it, and get on with your crabbed, pathetic life."
