I see that you are in NC. How far are you from Belmont Abbey?
A friend of mine, and her family went to the Lourdes Shrine there yesterday.
I’m on the opposite side of Charlotte from Belmont, in western Union County. With light traffic, about an hour from Belmont Abbey. We visited the Lourdes Shrine there last September when we were vacationing at Lake Norman; we had friends out from Oklahoma who wanted to see it.
The Lourdes Shrine is okay, and quite historic (as “historic” goes for Catholics in this part of the South :-), but the Abbey Basilica was very impressive.
