Is anyone aware that Bakker was finally acquitted from all of the fraud charges etc? It was all overturned and the judge thrown off of the case?

Wrong, he went to jail for 18 years and was paroled after five years, the charge you are referring to was on securities alone. He had 24 counts are charges he was found guilty on all 24, the securities was one of the twenty four. He was guilt and is still guilty on the other 23.

This is so sad. I read his biography. It certainly looked like the man had repented. A dog returns to his vomit. Publicly.

Seems to me he paid a pretty heavy price for having sex with a slut and overbooking his condos.

not as heavy a price as he will pay for corrupting the gospel.

As for Tammy Faye, the woman had a good heart — and lousy make-up.

Can anyone have a good heart without the truth of the gospel?

He isn't raising the money for the entire project as the article, just for his own ministry. I suppose no one believes in forgiveness. I am certainly thankful that God does.

Not if he goes back to lush living at the expense of his parishioners.
