I always recall the case of a UFO abductee . . . [keep in mind I consider “ET’s” to be fallen angels etc. . . .]
And the ET was standing by the roadside with the abductee who was naked and feeling more than a bit self-conscious . . . and the ET told him to watch . . . and a car came by totally ignoring him as though he was unseen, not there.
But, yeah, I’d expect God to provide for modesty, too. One way or another! LOL.
I’m just not about to want the slightest hint of an inclination to turn back, look back and become salt! LOL.
Can you imagine how ones like Daniel and John who were given views of the future felt? If taken even up to 1850 nothing dramatically changed. Things began radical change in the early 1900’s. First came the trains but can you imagine a person seeing today’s world from 2000-3000 years ago that added to seeing the Throne of GOD as well. It’s a wonder their minds even survived.
I have thought for many years the Christ’s return is not imminent because there is to much support for Israel.
When God said “For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle,” he included the United States. Our support is certainly moving away from Israel. When it looks hopeless for Israel, it’s time to look up!
Seven
The end is near. War will hasten salvation. Doubt it.
Our foreign policy as of late toward Israel is very disturbing indeed. So much so I fear we would be better off to leave Israel be rather than become enablers for her enemies which is our current position. As a nation we have ben blessed by Israel's sons since our founding. We will as well be cursed for abandoning Israel.
This is happening already.
marked to read later..thanks for the thread...
A lot has happened since 1989 that's for certain. Much of it not good. I believe the last man in the Whitehouse that understood our relationship with Israel was Reagan. He understood to respect Israel. As small a nation as she is she can certainly mop up the M.E. troublemakers if left to do so.
I’m with you and READY!
The sooner the better!
None of us will be acceptable if we look at ourselves. Some strong evidence that you are acceptable, (have been made acceptable by Christ) is that you KNOW you don’t measure up. Remember that the only reason you hunger for his word at all is because he has made you able and willing... and that his finished work is what saves us, not our own attempts at ‘perfection’ or sanctification.
Write anytime —
It’s terrible news for those that will not believe of course.
True. true.
Thanks.
BTTT
Sounds like it’s getting bleaker and bleaker—in the natural.
And so few pay attention to the abundant facts hidden in plain sight.
Elect Obama is one I’d reckon.
lol
Good News has been around since I was a boy as a Baptist maybe publication.
Have increasingly felt that many very familiar Scriptures were PRIMARILY written for our era . . .
. . . the grapes of God’s wrath
. . . the valley of the shadow of death . . . a table before me in the presence of my enemies . . .
& others . . .
Reagan was also convinced we are in the END TIMES.
Yeah,
The air around this planet could use some serious cleansing . . .
if you’re posting here over the years is indicative of your character then I’m sure as a fellow non-pious one that you’re in good shape
True. true.
Nice to agree with you, for a change. LOL.
YUP
thanks. You too. :-)
Strange isn't it? Reagan won office with the help of Christian Conservatives of all parties. The United States prospered under him because the nation sought out a man who had principles not perfect by any means. Since he left office our foreign policy has become less and less supportive of Israel and more supportive of those wishing her demise up to and including the Saudis. Reagan's faith wasn't talked about that much but then again there wasn't that much to doubt about his sincerity and loyalty to this nation. He led a quiet walk but an effective one no less. He didn't call for government faith based programs but rather knew that such had to come from individuals and organizations which were accountable only to the conscience of the members and not the government due to it's funding of such. The church itself is in danger now for taking part in FBP's that government funds.
Nobody knows the hour of his return.
Pray for W and Our Troops
That plays into it but so does our State Department which rushes to her enemies aid each and every single time too.
During the Long Beach earthquake of 1933, a man ran out of a building stark naked. When someone pointed out his condition to him, he ran back into the house flustered, only to emerge again clothed in------------only a hat.
Too funny!
I can imagine that happening!
As far as I can see, the author offered no support for this bald assertion. Can you?
No, wait, maybe I should rethink that.
.
Good points.
I’ve about reached the conclusion, perspective, position
that
tax deducted giving to God already has received it’s reward.
Let your left hand not know what your right hand is doing in giving to God is the Biblical way.
Genesis 48:17-20
17 And when Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand upon the head of Ephraim, it displeased him: and he held up his father's hand, to remove it from Ephraim's head unto Manasseh's head.
18 And Joseph said unto his father, Not so, my father: for this is the firstborn; put thy right hand upon his head.
19 And his father refused, and said, I know it, my son, I know it: he also shall become a people, and he also shall be great: but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of nations ("fullness of the Gentiles").
20 And he blessed them that day, saying, In thee shall Israel bless, saying, God make thee as Ephraim and as Manasseh: and he set Ephraim before Manasseh.
Ephraim = "double fruitfulness" and also "double ash heap"
Too I'd rather see a church burdened by the governments tax than a church controlled by the governments agenda and dictates as related to it's mission and what is spoken in the pulpit. For example I am not Roman Catholic for example but I am highy disturbed that say a Roman Catholic operated hospital or pharmacutical charity be ordered to violate it's conscience and/or doctorines. That is what concerns me most. That was the founders intent that government never be allowed to do so.
Government should never be allowed to dictate the message or mission of the church. Government has created a mess by thinking it could do a better job than what the church, private charity, and business once accomplished much better. Tax them if it must but get the government out of the affairs of the churches commissioned mission.
Agreed.
I don't understand.
He will certainly come as a conquering king to take his throne.
Zec 14:1 Behold, a day is coming for the LORD when the spoil taken from you will be divided among you.
Zec 14:2 For I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle, and the city will be captured, the houses plundered, the women ravished and half of the city exiled, but the rest of the people will not be cut off from the city.
Zec 14:3 Then the LORD will go forth and fight against those nations, as when He fights on a day of battle.
Zec 14:4 In that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which is in front of Jerusalem on the east; and the Mount of Olives will be split in its middle from east to west by a very large valley, so that half of the mountain will move toward the north and the other half toward the south.
The author actually did. He provided support in the paragraphs proceeding and provided a link for further study.
The United States and Great Britain in Bible Prophecy
It's definitely not a salvational issue, but it certainly makes sense in the context of bible prophecy and the ascendancy of the United States and the British Empire.
Thanks—I’ll check per your leading.
Christ has never left us
Heb 13:5 Let your way of life be without the love of money, and be content with such things as you have, for He has said, "Not at all will I leave you, not at all will I forsake you, never!"
Mat 10:7 And as you go, proclaim, saying, The kingdom of Heaven is at hand.
Rom 14:17 for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
Col 1:13 For He has delivered us from the power of darkness and has translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son;
Thanks for your response Harley. I think you're mixing up Christ's spiritual presence with his physical return.
Joh 16:4 But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them. And these things I said not unto you at the beginning, because I was with you.
Joh 16:5 But now I go my way to him that sent me; and none of you asketh me, Whither goest thou?
Joh 16:6 But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart.
Joh 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
So Christ departed and made it possible for his holy spirit to come to those who believed in him.
But he has not physically returned. A sequence of the events of his return are listed in Matthew 24.
and His kingdom was established long ago. Mat 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, Repent! For the kingdom of Heaven is at hand.
The bible teaches that Christ will physically return to establish an earthly kingdom. Although Christ has ascended and taken his place on the right hand of the father, it is not yet in God's timetable to establish his physical kingdom on earth. The kingdoms and governments of the world today are, with God's authority, under the influence and power of Satan.
Joh 14:28 "You heard that I said to you, 'I go away, and I will come to you.' If you loved Me, you would have rejoiced because I go to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.
Joh 14:29 "Now I have told you before it happens, so that when it happens, you may believe.
Joh 14:30 I will not speak much more with you, for the ruler of the world is coming, and he has nothing in Me;
Joh 14:31 but so that the world may know that I love the Father, I do exactly as the Father commanded Me. Get up, let us go from here.
The "ruler of the world" Christ is referring to is Satan:
Gal 1:3 Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ,
Gal 1:4 Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:
The present world is evil because it is under Satan's reign.
Eph 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
The "course of the world" is under Satan's influence.
Mat 12:25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:
Mat 12:26 And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?
Above when Christ was accused of casting out demons under Satan's influence he acknowledges that Satan's kingdom would fall if it was divided. He acknowledged Satan's kingdom.
Rev 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
Satan deceives the whole world. That doesn't just mean people. Science teaches evolution. Science is deceived. Governments are deceived. Religion is deceived. Christ will return to stop this deception of the WHOLE world one day.
Col 1:13 For He has delivered us from the power of darkness and has translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son; He reigns and sits upon the throne of David and we have been translated into that kingdom.
The verse above simply means that Christians have acknowledged that Christ is our ruler and we are no longer under Satan's authority, but Christ's. We are His.
I'd make Saul's early years look like he was a saint....
‘If you are planting a tree and hear that the Mashiach has come, first finish the planting, then go to greet him.’
As though, Dear Harley, there were not a lot of other Scriptures on the other side of the issue! LOL.
I often tell my friends that in God's kingdom I will be used as a teaching tool. They'll look at my prior actions and especially my inner life, my thoughts, feelings, emotions and say "if Christ can forgive and change this then there's hope for everyone".
Every believer in Christ is a miracle indeed.
Amen !shalom b'SHEM Yah'shua HaMashiach AdonaiBlessings on you and yours.
