When God created man, male and female He created them. My somewhat limited understanding of Hebrew leads me to believe that the word for male is “zakar” - a word closely associated with the word “to remember.” I find an interesting lesson in that observation. Repeatedly, Israel is told to remember their God...as was the male...and whenever Israel turned its back on God, it is said of them that “they forgot their God.” I wonder if there is a lesson for Israel in this?
