Pro-Life Prayer and Worship

Dear Pro-Lifers

We work to eliminate abortion in our country and ultimately the world because we know God is LORD. We know that He is Dwelling Place, Fortress and Refuge both now and in eternity to those who submit to His Lordship by obedience to His commands.

However, we also know that apart from God we can do nothing. Even the best human efforts without His power behind them, if not done in His Way according to His direction, even if they happen to get some earthly results will not have the lasting, spiritual, truly God-honoring results He intended, unless His power is behind them and they are done in His Way according to His direction. Nowhere in Scripture are we told to get an idea from Him then go out in our own strength to get it done. All the struggles we see in the natural realm with our physical eyes are symptomatic of the ongoing, invisible battle in the spiritual realm between God and His plan and the adversary who seeks worship due God for himself. This is a supernatural battle which we will lose if we try to come against it in our own strength because the power which comes against us is stronger than we are. However, this is not our battle it is the Lord’s. He already has the ultimate victory and He has the plan for it. We do not tell Him how this is supposed to look, but we do partner with Him in prayer and worship, seek His will, and then walk it out.

Therefore any and all activities for Him must have an ongoing covering and foundation of worship and prayer. Modern technology has made it easy for us to join together nationwide and even worldwide to do this via email, the Internet and telephone. One of the methods is to write prayer out as He has us pray it and then send it on.

There is an exquisite, supernatural beauty in prayer written out as we spontaneously pray it (as His Spirit gives it to us) and then sent out. When a recipient reads it, the prayer immediately becomes prayed by two or more. God promises wherever two or more are gathered there will He be also. And so just one recipient praying in one accord as it is read brings God and everything He is instantly into the situation.

MountainFlower feels called by God to provide a place for ongoing prayer and worship for unity within the pro-life movement and God’s power released His Way to see this movement through to accomplishment of its objective: restoration of a culture of life in America and beyond.

A few guidelines…When seeking to create an ongoing covering of worship and prayer each needs to participate as the Holy Spirit leads and as we are each comfortable. There are many different denominations and styles of prayer. There is no formula for how to pray. God looks at the heart.

We must not judge one another. As His Body, Christ asks us to be unified. Though there are many different denominations (and these denominations and their differences are not going away) we can and must set these differences and discussion of them aside in order to unify in prayer and worship in honor of our King and acknowledgement of His Lordship. For purposes such as this we must focus on what we have in common – a foundational belief in Jesus Christ as Son of the one and only true and triune God, crucified, risen and coming again, on His Kingship and on the necessity of Him as Savior and Lord.

So we must each pray as led. This means there will be some of us called to write out prayers and post and/or email them. There will be some called to read the prayers written and pray in one accord. Some will post Scripture. There will be some called to pray privately, asking God to unite their prayers to the prayers of others. There will be those who are called to respond in writing or by a phone call and those who are praying but are not called to respond at all in a way which makes this known.

Worship plays a KEY role. Prayer is conversation with God. It is not commanded, just expected because it should be a natural progression out of a growing intimate relationship with God. However, worship is commanded. This is not because God needs our worship. He does not. He Is, Was and Will Be – all whether we choose to worship or not. However, when we choose to spend time adoring Him which we could have spent on ourselves or asking Him in prayer, we declare He is God. Worship puts us in right standing with Him. It shows we know He is Lord and not we ourselves. It states that we know He is in control. Therefore it establishes His Lordship over us. Praise –a form of worship – IS the gate to the Dwelling Place. It is our worship which creates the atmosphere of abiding He desires and commands for us (He dwells in the Father and the Father in Him….He desires for us to dwell in Him even as He dwells in us.) An increase of His Presence brings an increase of all that He is (power, might, His Way, love mercy, etc) into our circumstances and invites Him to have His way with us and the world around us. (Remember when Peter’s shadow caused healing when he passed by due to the Lord’s Presence which accompanied him?)

Worship is one of the most powerful weapons we have against the enemy’s onslaughts. Often God’s strategy for human victories in Old Testament times illogically called for the worshippers to lead the way into battle – those adoring God in the spiritual realm going before those who would war in the physical realm……Yet because of their obedience to worship first, God granted them victories in supernatural ways beyond anything the people could have imagined. We want God’s supernatural ways, not our own. We want His supernatural victories, which enable re-building our society founded on His principles and for Him to be revealed through how the victories come to pass. In this way His Kingdom purposes are served both for the now and eternity. When He is revealed through the process of how things come to pass, more will see Him, choose Him as Lord and be adopted into His family for eternity.

We are called to worship in spirit and truth. Worship is more an attitude of heart than a particular action. When done with the right attitude, one rejoicing in the Lord and trusting in His perfect provision in His perfect timing, almost anything can be an act of worship. However, we also can worship Him in word and song. Worship is adoring God for who He is and giving Him credit for what He does. Worship can be declaring His names, thanking Him for what He has done, proclaiming what He will do according to His promises. Worship asks Him for NOTHING. And how honored He is when we spend time adoring Him instead of asking, because therein lies an inherent trust that we CAN spend our time in adoration because we TRUST as God He will take care of all. Worship can be spontaneous songs or words declared, but for many it is singing along with worship music recorded by someone else. It can be done alone, or meeting together with others. It can be done by attending a worship service or Mass with an attitude of adoration which gives back instead of one of neediness. Important is the heart, completely given over to God, choosing to trust in His purposes, rejoice in what He’s doing and will do and revel in His love IN SPITE of worldly circumstances.

There are only two obligations for each person invited to part of providing worship and prayer cover for the pro-live movement and unity within it. Each person must pray whether or not they are called to this action and each has a duty if they are NOT called to participate to have themselves removed from the contact list. There are many different places God needs work done for Him. Each of us is called to particular tasks and not to others because we cannot all do it all! If we do the good thing instead of the God thing we are out of His will, His power will not be with us and our efforts will be for naught. In addition, if you sense there are others who need to be invited to join in the prayer group please forward and/or pass on the worship and prayer information to them!

Thank you for considering being a part of this. It is a work in progress, please be patient and work with MountainFlower to hear from God how it is to move forward.

To God be the glory!

Thanks, Eaglesnest1!

Consider that a bit of a cover letter and an explanation of the method, so to speak. I have grown more and more concerned as I have watched the Pro-Life movement in South Dakota and other states become split over legal issues, when to make a move and when not to. Upon discussion of this with Eaglesnest1, it seems I am guilty as well. My fervor and passion for the Pro-Life movement, saving babies, helping post abortives, and the rest moved from a battle in the spiritual to becoming on in the flesh. I was losing my focus and getting caught up in the worldly side of it, forgetting it is first a spiritual battle. I watched as things I had foreseen in the South Dakota movement happened around me. I am not willing to stand by and continue watching, allowing Satan to grab a stronger foothold, increasing the rift in the movement. We believe that returning the focus to the spiritual side and hitting the battle first with worship and prayer, that God will again be first and foremost and the movement will again become unified. That is not to say that there is nothing to be done legislatively, but that the first front is the spiritual front. Then God will work in the rest.

I am hoping to get a prayer posted each weekend, on Sunday, for the coming week. Come to the thread as you have the time and, as Eaglenest1 wrote, do according to how you feel the Lord has called you….to pray it with us, to add a prayer, to pass it on to someone, etc. If you want to be on the list, please FReepmail me. If you want off the list, please FReepmail me that as well. I know this isn’t for everyone. If, during the week you find there is a specific battle waging in your state or area on this front that needs coverage, please post it or let me know. Again, this is a work in progress, so bear with me and ….I am open to suggestions.

Post 1 is the prayer, for this week, and next time it will be the start of the thread.

Blessings, A Voice For The Unborn,

Mountainflower

Eaglesnest1 said that sometimes a REMEMBRANCE PRAYER can get our hearts set in the right direction. I had not heard of this before, but I am intrigued. I have been trying this in my personal life and thought I would use it here, today.

REMEMBRANCE PRAYER FOR THE PRO-LIFE MOVEMENT:

Father we thank and praise You for hearing the prayers of Your children. Father we thank You for:

*turning the heart of Norma so she no longer believes Roe V Wade was right. We thank You for placing it in her heart to do what she can for the fight for life, now.

*for bringing up those who are post-abortive to tell their story, bringing them healing, and a warning to others of the damages abortions can cause.

*for organizations and agencies sprouting up to help the post-abortives through their grieving and healing process.

*for legislation and legislation attempts in various states, bringing renewed attention to the cause and fighting for the rights of all the unborn.

*raising awareness of the LIFE issue throughout our country and its ripple effects to other parts of the world.

*bringing those who are breaking the law in the abortion industry into the light.

*organizations that are a part of the battle for LIFE.

*candidates and legislators who do not walk in fear of man, who stand up for the unalienable rights of the unborn.

*the freedom and rights in this country to realize a piece of legislation may be wrong, and the process in which to be able to change it.

Father, we come before You asking for healing. The enemy has set in rifts in the Pro-Life movement, where now there are brothers and sisters in Christ who used to stand together but are now in enmity.

Father, in our passionate battle of Life for the unborn we have lost our focus and moved from a spiritual battle into the fleshly battle. Open our eyes, help us re-gain our focus, and put our passion back into the spiritual side of the battle for without You we have no footing and gain no ground.

Father God, bring unity back to the Pro-Life movement. Refresh your warriors in this battle.

Lord bring Your blessings and bearing in on the LIFE issue. Give wisdom to those forming legislation at the national level, that the verbiage will be what is necessary to protect the lives of all unborn. Provide the verbiage that will withstand the strongest of scrutiny in our system of law and will be upheld.

Father turn the hearts of Your people to support this move throughout the nation. Take our focus, bringing it back toYou and open our hearts to Your leading in this area.

Thank You, Father, that you are faithful, that you hear us and answer. Bless us with Your leading and remove the scourge of abortion from our country. Father, heal our land.

We stand on Your promise

"if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

2 Chronicles 7:13-15 (New International Version)

Thank You, gracious Father, for Your faithfulness. In Jesus Name, Amen!

I am not equipped or suited to the political or legal matters. I try to carry the truth as best I can where I can without mentioning God. The reason for not mentioning God is two-fold. First, I’m such a flawed person that I am not a worthy “ambassador” or representative. Second, it’s sometimes more useful to go after “hearts and minds” more subtly. I can, however, play 3 chords on my guitar and tell the truth in my own words. The song at this link - http://www.myspace.com/emmettgrayson - also appears at the “Fatherhood Forever” website under their multi-media links. “A Dream A Lot Like Mine” may not sound exactly like a prayer, but I hope you’ll give it a listen.

Emmett, thank you so very much for sharing your heart! God gifts us all in different ways and different areas, and it doesn't make anyone's gift of less value. We are honored that you have shared your gift with us. TRULY HONORED! Your song has the ability to touch the hearts of those who have been there, and gives them hope for healing that they may have been searching for all their lives. I find your humility refreshing ~ None of us is worthy and that is the beauty of it. God works best with and in broken vessels! Everyone has a story. Emmett, thank you for sharing yours, and may God bless you.

Heavenly Father, we thank and praise you for raising up Emmett, giving him the song and the courage to share it. Father, touch his heart and any wounds that may still remain, and heal them up, touch the scars, and give him joy in You, Your mercy and grace. Father, continue to heal those who have been through this same journey, and bring them forward with their stories, for their healing and the healing of others. Let their stories fall on the ears of others, to heed the warning. Bless Emmett and his ministry for You! Father, hear our plea to re-unite the Pro-Life movement-- Your children. We thank and praise Your Holy Name for all You are doing in our lives, in Jesus Name, Amen!
