ORLANDO, Fla. -- An unexplained image in a hospital prayer garden window moved some people to tears and drew groups of people to a hallway before vanishing, according to witnesses.
A crowd inside the Florida Hospital Medical Complex in Orlando snapped photos of the image apparently showing the profile of Jesus Christ crying.
"There was just a whole bunch of people putting their cell phones to the window, so I went over there and I saw a glow," witness Joel Cruzada said. "When you are standing there and there is a flurry of people talking about it, you are like, 'Wow, I'm actually here.'"
Cruzada, who was one of several viewers to send an e-mail about the image to Local6.com, said his ex-wife was recently diagnosed with stage-3 cancer.
"This was just a sign for me to not worry about what is going on in my life and that everything else is under control," Cruzada said. "It was an enlightening experience."
Another Local 6 viewer, Lorna, said she saw the image and noticed that a chaplain was snapping photos and videotaping it.
"I brought some people from my (hospital) unit and they saw it," Lorna said.
A viewer said the image caused "a commotion" in the hallway near the prayer garden.
The hospital is calling it an unexplained image.
An official said as long as the image makes people feel good, that is all that matters, Local 6's Charnel Wright said.
Witnesses said after a few hours, the image vanished.

The image in question.
Disclaimer for those skeptical of Catholic apparitions : Not a Catholic hospital, and not an image of the Virgin Mary.
Disclaimer for the rest of the world: this is not an image of the Lord Jesus and those who “venerate” such things are idolaters.
Thanks for clearing that up for us.
My pleasure.
Yes, it is.
Who are we to argue?
I once saw the image of the virgin Mary on a grilled cheese sandwich. I know it was her because it was titled virgin Mary. Unfortunately I ate the sandwich for lunch before I could sell it on Ebay.
Looks like Satan to me.

How do you know it wasn’t a picture of Jesus. Can you compare it to a photo of Jesus that you have?
It gave this man comfort when his wife is dying. God works in mysterious ways. Why would you want to question the almighty power of Our Lord? I’m not seeing too much veneration going on in this article. I am seeing picture phones and some people feeling Our Lord’s comfort.
Maybe that’s what He wanted.
How do you know? Can you prove it is not?
LOL, you forgot to take it to the next level: just whip out the sword and start chopping off heads! Damned infidels!
How do you know it’s the image of Christ, since nobody has a record of it?
Gosh, I wouldn’t put THAT much stock in what I say. Where’s the “proof” image of Christ to which such things as reflections on glass can be compared?
No man can prove a negative - “everyone knows that”.
As I’ve asked others: Where’s the “proof” image of the Lord Jesus against which such images can be compared?
Regarding how proclaiming Christians should respond to such images, what about “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God”?
The man who was given comfort was reminded of Jesus by the image. I think everyone there was.
Whether you think it’s him or not, really doesn’t matter to the people who found comfort in thinking of Him.
And maybe THAT was Our Lord’s plan.
I dunno.
I thought you were the expert.
Your negative diagnosis of the image was made with such finality, dogmatism and certitude.
>>As Ive asked others: Wheres the proof image of the Lord Jesus against which such images can be compared?<<
Where is the sentance that states that the people were “venerating” the image.
You hopped on that pretty fast.
I know it can’t be proven, but you’re the one that went out to the world and told everyone it wasn’t. Convenient that you have no way of backing up your statement.
I threw that comment in there because so many RCs claim they “venerate” such things so as to dodge the idolatry charge.
Of course not! You insult our intelligence by even feeling you have to point that to us. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE knows Mary had pork chop sideburns, not a mustache and goatee! </lol>
It’s easy to know that such garbage is not the image of the Son of God, because NOBODY KNOWS WHAT HE LOOKS LIKE! Not with standing, many who seek after signs and wonders will claim, “Here a Christ!” and “There a Christ!”. And we know what the One True Lord has to say about such -
“believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Behold, I have told you before. Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.”
Regarding how proclaiming Christians should respond to such images, what about “Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God”?
Okay, I am a skeptic about these things. I have never bought into any of the so called images that have appeared in this or that window, waffle, toast or whatever. I really just don't buy it. However, I also don't buy the above viewpoint. Just where did anybody make a "graven image" here? Who bowed down to it and worshipped it? I just feel like some people completely overreact to any image at all and start flailing about with charges of idolatry.

LOOKS LIKE Oded Fehr, ACTOR EXTRAORDINAIRE......
Amen!
HE’S DEAD, JIM................
< snort >
Including, of course, you yourself.
So, who are you to say it doesn't look like Him?
Hmmm?
Are you the infallible oracle of image interpretation?
Watch. People will “see” Jesus in that photo, build shrines to it, light candles, pay homage to the image. Do you think one can do such things with impunity because man did not create the image? Making an image - bad. Worshiping an image - bad. Worship only God, no anything that He, or anyone else, has created.
The ‘image’ of Jesus has been surprisingly constant over the ages, and bears a remarkable resemblance to the Shroud of Turin
Oh that’s his name. I always say to my wife:”there’s that George Harrison looking guy.”
He is awesome in Sleeper Cell.
HECK, THEY GOT A WHOLE DISPENSARY FULL OF STUFF THAT CAN DO THAT!............
I am not the infallible anything. I know God does not desire people to honor images, which is what invariably happen when such things gain notoriety. THAT is the evidence that this image is from the Lord, beyond the fact that we don’t know what He looked like so NOBODY can say, “THIS looks like Him!” Such none sense can only lead to idolatry.
Oh, boy. Are you an infallible oracle of mind-reading, too?
This forum is truly fortunate to be favoured with such an august personage!
Thank you for the story and photo, marshmellow!
If the shrines are indeed built. Please manfred, stay away.
man, you really put the “fun” in “fundamentalist”
It does look like the Jesus I've come to know from print and paintings.
I am also comforted by this, whether “real” or not.
So your aim was to slam Catholics and nothing else?
Shame on you.
The article doesn’t mention veneration. It mentions the comfort that the man with a dying wife received from his notion of that image.
Our Lord has given him comfort, the image was real or imagined. Your heart is hard.
...the fact that we dont know what He looked like so NOBODY can say, THIS DOESN'T look like Him!
Count on it. I would likely get arrested for “tearing down the high altars of the pagan gods”.
So if there are false prophets, does that mean there are true prophets too? And which one are you; true or false?
Nice!
He’s a bit of eye candy, isn’t he?
You missed the first part of that sentence: “God does not desire people to honor images, which is what invariably happen when such things gain notoriety. THAT is the evidence that this image is from the Lord”
I do not claim to read minds - merely observe people. Such acts of idolatry take place routinely around the globe when similar images appear and are routinely defended by RCC watchdogs as “veneration” of a Saint represented by the image.
I don’t aim to slam Catholics - only false teaching that claims to Biblical. Sometimes this happens in my own church, sometimes in the RCC. Matters not where, matters what.
Think about this for a moment.
Do you carry any "images" of your loved ones around with you? Do you have in your wallet a picture of a spouse, parent or offspring, perhaps? Many people do. It's a sign of affection, isn't it?
Now do you think your spouse would be angry at the picture of her in your wallet and become jealous? Would she consider it a sign that you were loving her picture and not her?
The very idea is assinine, isn't it?
So do you think Jesus would be angry at those who carry images of Him and consider such persons guilty of idolatry? I mean really??
Idolatry is the placing of another false god in the place of the one, true God. Money, sex, pleasure, pagan gods. It is not the cultivation of the love of God, or a spouse, or a child, by carrying images of them.
Get some common sense.
