Topeka,KS- If anyone thought they were safe, surely the actual members of the Westboro Baptist Church did, but this weekend plans are underway for a picketing, that's right, the Westboro Baptist members will picket themselves.
"It's a shame we have to do this. America is doomed, and we've allowed ourselves to become overwhelmed by the stupidity of this doomed country," said Frank Phelps, a distant cousin of Shirley Phelps. "We have become too pro-homosexual, so now we have to warn ourselves of God's doom and wrath against our own church." The zealous 'Christians' have picketed the funerals of celebrities, and are notorious for picketing the funerals of dead soldiers. They believe that the death of soldiers in the wars in Iraq, and Afghanistan is God's judgment against America. "Its time for a revival, and this isn't how it works - we need to stop being so liberal with ourselves, and start demonstrating against ourselves. God hates fags, and we need to let ourselves know."
"We're practically like every other Christian out there: we don't believe the Bible. Time has come for us to picket ourselves, I think Revelation talks about this somewhere," Carey Phelps, the choir leader said as they rehearsed 'God Hates the World'. "If we stop being Christians, then there are no more Christians."
The picketing is set for Saturday, May 16Th, 2008. Shirley Phelps, and Fred Phelps along with many of the church members are expected to attend.

Just don’t get these people.Been following their antics for a few yrs now-even curious enough to show up at one of their protests-they wisely didn’t show. They call themselves Christians?!?!IMO-two possibilities:Either they’re seriously disturbed/misguided individuals and really believe what they’re doing is right or Westboro is simply a(leftist)front group masquerading as Christians.I’m inclined to believe the latter.

Every other Christian? So you have polled all of us to see where we stand? Not. I agree with exposing error in preaching, with the Bible as the only standard (no Apocrypha, Book of Mormon, Peal of Great Price, other bologne, etc.), but your abuse of the instructions against homosexuality are rude, crude and unloving.

These people are too far gone. Where’s the ATF when you need them?

Im inclined to believe the latter. You would be wrong. I've been watching them for years as well and it's definitely the former.

Your doctrine is against John 3:16 and is therefore rejected. You people sound like Catholics claiming to be Christians. You make up your own doctrine and then mix it up with the Bible. I don’t buy your doctrine of hate. Christ came as a lamb the first time, as a lion the next time, but how does your church justify contradicting Scripture to meet the end claim that the USA is doomed?
Hey, I do not disagree that America is on God’s list of nations to punish. Three million dead babies a year plus funding going worldwide for another three million annually elsewhere would be tough for me to weigh against all the good we do in the world, especially to Israel. However, your claims such as “too late to pray” and “God hates fags” would be confronted if they came from my preacher’s mouth... confronted with the Bible and correct doctrine, and soundly retorted, with you being rebuked and corrected.
My question to your church would be, how would you respond to Biblical correction? I suppose you would explain it all away, like the Catholics do when confronted with Biblical truth that says they are not Christian. Is there anyone on FR that sympathizes with these people?

This is the kind of family you get from incest and child abuse. Anyone could produce offspring like this if they marry a sister and raise their children under a strict code of physical, emotional and sexual abuse. It’s about time they got around to protesting their own inbred mutt of a family.

Sorry. Catholics were Christian long, long before Protestantism ever existed. Martin Luther was more than 1000 years from being born when the Catholic/Orthodox Church was canonizing the Bible, defining the non-negotiables of Christianity like the Holy Trinity and the Incarnation, and spreading truth around the world.
Protestantism is just a collection of schismatic sects based on different men’s interpretation of the Bible.
And Protestant Anglicans don’t agree on many issues with Protestant Lutherans who don’t agree with Reformed Protestants. They all claim to be Biblically based, but there are huge differences in doctrine and theology between Lutherans, and with Baptists and with Pentecostals. Which one is right?
