Mine was Presbyterian!”

Mine was Methodist!

>>Catholics view protestants as Christian, prots — at least some of them<<

I’m going to say, there are some in every bunch.
Did you see the Protestant thread?

Very kind people there (a couple of the usual suspects but you know!)

Yeah, some of us really “hate” Protestants.

Guess we marry them to make ourselves suffer. LOL!

(personally, I love them!)

YES, YES, YES, YES. The only Protestants (if using the term broadly) whom I don’t regard as Christians are those sects that do not believe in the Trinity, and other core teachings of Christian doctrine such as the physical resurrection of Jesus.

Yes, protestants are Christians; although their faith formation is lacking, which leaves them mired in defective churches that don’t understand or adhere to the fullness of faith. They represent the sadness of man’s fallen nature.

Catholics view protestants as Christian, prots — at least some of them, view Catholics as not

The protestants who don't think Catholics are Christians are taking protestant thinking to its logical extreme.

First, the Catholics, then, the Baptists, then, the Methodists, then, the Presbyterians, then, half of their own congregation, then, their pastor, then, everyone except themselves.

A Church of One.

I think as the world turns more muslim, that we Christians will find more in common than apart. I also think that we will need to stick together, despite our differences.

Are they Protestant?

I am not sure. I was just wondering if the Catholics thought they were Christian? It is their viewpoint that matters isn't it?

On this thread. On the last thread I posted, the question was asked of the Protestants.

Yes, we do.

We also believe that all Christians know the Gospel of Jesus thanks to the Catholic Church who have obediently have preserved it for 2000 years, and that for that reason salvation is only through the Catholic Church.

Just as gravity applies to everyone, regardless of those who don’t believe in it, so too does the truth administered to the world by the Catholic Church apply to all people.

Well in my house, we’ve always gotten along pretty well. Had a Protestant/Catholic marital bed.

My Grandma was Protestant, my adopted sister, my nephew, my favorite Aunt, ALL my hubby’s family. I’m Catholic btw.

Honestly, until coming to FR religion forum, I never saw otherwise.

Sure. If you get INTO Purgatory, you're going to get OUT, and you'll be taking the Up escalator.

I found a good analogy in C.S. Lewis's Voyage of the Dawn Treader, when Eustace has been turned into a dragon by his own greed. He tries to remove the dragon skin himself to become a boy again, but can't peel it off - there's another layer underneath. Aslan (the Christ figure) offers to peel it, and it all comes off at once. Eustace compared it to peeling a scab - painful but good.

That's what's going to happen to us in Purgatory - all the scabs of sin that we've accumulated in our lives are going to be completely removed, and we will finally become the people God meant us to be.

The efforts you make in this life determine whether God will buff those sins off with a nice soft cloth, or whether He will be getting out the WIRE BRUSH.

Nahhh.
None of my Protestant friends feel alot of guilt!
You are all into this “forgiveness” thing!

We, I.Catholics and Jew keep our kids in line with Guilt!

We don’t forgive anything.....
well we do
we just don’t forgive in public.

No, I think the Jewish mothers have the nod on guilt.
