DELAWARE, Ohio -- A former Delaware County pastor charged with raping a 15-year-old girl who attended his church pleaded guilty yesterday to related charges. Brian L. Williams, 45, the former head pastor of Sunbury Grace Brethren Church, pleaded guilty to two sexual battery charges, Delaware County Prosecutor Dave Yost said in a news release. Williams was indicted in March on two counts of rape and two counts of sexual battery, all felonies. The indictment alleged that on March 6, Williams forced the girl to perform oral sex and assaulted her at his church office.
Yost's office re-filed sexual battery charges yesterday to clarify that Williams purposely engaged in sexual conduct with his victim. Williams then pleaded guilty to a bill of information, meaning he did not wait for a grand jury to re-indict him. The two rape charges will be dismissed as part of a plea agreement. "The plea will eliminate the need to force the victim to testify at trial," Yost said. "This young woman has been hurt enough by a man who was supposed to be helping her." Williams is scheduled to be sentenced Aug.18 in Delaware County Common Pleas Court. Each sexual battery count is a third-degree felony punishable by up to five years in prison.
IF he is put into General Population, then it may be an ok sentence.
I’ve always believed that God’s judgment, when it starts, will begin in His Church. Sexual scandal in churches is rampant. God have mercy on the rest of us.
Wow... I’m shocked that I pulled up FR and saw another post by you about a pastor/sex story. I’m gonna have to ask that you post about 20 more before midnight....preferably stories that are about a month old.
Yeah, I’m getting a bit tired of it myself. They’re not getting much comment, I see.
Don’t like seeing these posts?
Too bad the protestant ministers continue to exploit, degrade, and insult their parishioners in spite of all they should have learned from the Catholic debacle. Guess they didn’t learn much, except how NOT to compensate their helpless victims for the therapy, rehabilitation, and disabling consequences of their evil acts.
Bump for the day crowd.
