Police charged a third person Wednesday in connection with beatings and rape that authorities say were carried out by a satanic cult. Diana Palmer, 44, of Cottage Woods Court, surrendered to police Wednesday afternoon. She was charged with being an accessory after the fact of assault with a deadly weapon and was being held in the Durham County Jail under a $95,000 bond.

Joseph Craig, 25, has been charged with kidnapping, rape, forcible sexual offense and assault in the case. His wife, Joy Johnson, 30, has been charged with aiding and abetting. Both were being held Wednesday in the Durham County Jail. The couple was arrested last week after a man and a woman told police they were beaten, shackled to beds, kept in dog cages and starved inside a home on Albany Street. Craig is accused of committing the crimes while his wife watched.

When pedophile priest Steven Michael Baker was arrested as he returned from a Thailand vacation in 2005, his prosecution was possible because of new law passed in the California Legislature opening a window in the statute of limitations on child molest cases. Now Baker and his LA Catholic Archdiocese attorneys are claiming the new wording of penal code 803 (f) along with other irregularities in the penal code on different acts of child rape are grounds for charges against the pedophile priest to be dismissed.

If these are excerpts, they must be sourced. And none of them can be Associated Press, Gannett, etc.

A woman claiming to represent the Church of Satan said Craig and Johnson aren't members and denounced the allegations against them. "Our church is, without exception, against all illegal acts. Our dogma is clear and concise on the issue of sexual abuse and crime in general: If you do it, you can be excommunicated," Ygraine Mitchell wrote in an e-mail to WRAL.

You can be excommunicated from the Church of Satan for doing evil things? And I thought that Christians were bad about watering down religious doctrine.

Turns out this 3rd person is Diana Palmer, who is FIRST VICE CHAIR of the Democratic Party in Durham, NC......who has NOT resigned from that position even after these charges.

The charges are accessory after the fact of assault with deadly weapon for allegedly moving evidence in a car away from the residence of the two who were charged with a variety of assault crimes, including raps.

So now we have both the FIRST and the THIRD Vice Chair of the Durham Democratic party being charged in this case.

The Demonrat party of lies is also the party of rape, having been led by the Rapist in Chief since 1992. So it is not surprising that among its adherents are others who practice - in a cult or otherwiose - this criminal sick behavior.

That their party is allied with satan, the father of lies, is not surprising at all.

DURHAM — Two black, studded straps were among several items Durham police confiscated during a search of the home where Joseph Scott Craig allegedly committed a number of offenses, including second-degree rape, according to a warrant.

Craig, 25, and his wife, Joy Johnson, 30, have been in jail since June 27. Craig faces three counts of second-degree kidnapping, one count of second-degree rape, one count of second-degree-forcible sex offense and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.

Johnson faces three counts of felony aiding and abetting and is alleged to have watched or encouraged Craig to commit some of the crimes of which he’s accused.

The results of the search warrant add more details to an already bizarre alleged satanic kidnapping and rape case.

According to the warrant, other items taken from the house at 2305 Albany St. include: a Samsung S730 digital camera, a Microsoft Webcam, micro recorder and cassettes, film, two boxes with pictures, books and notepads, a brown rug, a laptop, cell phone, two hard drives, two floppy disk drives, DVDs and memory sticks.

Police allege that in a string of incidents occurring between Dec. 1 and June 27, Craig held a man against his will, sexually assaulted a woman twice, and beat both of them.

Assistant District Attorney Mark McCullough said the alleged crimes stemmed from some sort of satanic ritual.

Johnson is a former Durham County Democratic Party third vice chairwoman. Police on Wednesday arrested and charged another party activist, Diana Palmer, 44, in connection with the rape and kidnapping investigation.

Palmer, first vice chairwoman of the party, was charged with being an accessory after the fact

Both victims were also beaten. Seems that it could either be part of cult ritual or not to me, however. I’ll have to know more before deciding that.
