A-Rod's wife tells pals she believes Madonna lured Yank with Kabbalah
New Yok Daily News ^ | 07/04/2008 | GEORGE RUSH and BILL HUTCHINSON

Posted on 07/04/2008 1:46:17 AM PDT by iowamark

Pop icon Madonna is using kabbalah to brainwash Yankee star Alex Rodriguez into believing they are "soulmates," the ballplayer's estranged wife is telling friends.

Cynthia Rodriguez, who has bolted to rocker Lenny Kravitz's Paris pad to avoid the limelight, is blaming the Material Girl for breaking up her five-year marriage, a close friend told the Daily News. The 34-year-old stunner has revealed to close confidants that she discovered a note her husband wrote professing his true feelings to Madonna.

"I believe he was having an affair with Madonna," she told a friend, who spoke anonymously for fear of angering A-Rod. "She said she found a letter where Alex told Madonna: 'You are my true soulmate.'"

Related Stories: A-Rod could lose millions in divorce, experts say The friend said Cynthia Rodriguez, who gave birth to the couple's second daughter about 10 weeks ago, is teary and heartbroken over the split. Despite the sleepless nights and jags of tears, Cynthia Rodriguez is telling friends, "I still love my husband."

The startling revelations come just days after reports that Rodriguez, 32, had been dumped by his wife and has been seen making late-night visits to the 49-year-old Madonna's upper West Side home.

While Madonna's flack has vehemently denied any hanky-panky, insisting the slugger and the singer "are just friends," Cynthia Rodriguez is convinced otherwise. She has privately insisted to pals that the "Hard Candy" singer beguiled A-Rod by introducing him to the mystical Jewish teachings of kabbalah.

"I feel like Madonna is using mind control over him," Cynthia Rodriguez told the friend. "I don't recognize the man he's become. He was a sweet, beautiful, loving husband and father. Today he's very cold and calculating."

The Bombers' $275 million third baseman upset his wife in April by showing up 10 minutes after she gave birth to their daughter, Ella Alexander. He only exacerbated her hurt feelings by spending only a day with her and their newborn before rejoining the Yankees.

"This all started with kabbalah," said the friend. "Alex told Cynthia that he'd discovered that he'd been looking for his soul mate. And now, he said, he'd found her."

Simultaneously, Madonna has been hounded by reports that her seven-year marriage to filmmaker Guy Ritchie is on the rocks.

'I believe in family more than anything'

At first, Cynthia didn't find it odd that her brawny husband was spending so much time with the married pop star, whose daughter, Lourdes, shares his mother's name.

Wasn’t that a Springsteen song, “Pink Kabbalah” ?

“They say Eve tempted Adam with an apple,
Man I ain’t going for that.
I know it was her pink Kabbalah”

Or maybe not...

Madonna is a brilliant songwriter and this is coming from someone who doesn't neccessarily even like her music.

She surrounded herself wisely with other brilliant musicians like Jeff Paccaro, and it has gotten her to the top!

She maybe a fluzey, but she's not talentless!

You’re kidding , right? “Brilliant songwriter” - NOT! Just another talentless (musically) cheap slut. They’re a dime a dozen: Britney, etc.

I’ve got over 41,000 songs in my collection and not one is a Madonna song.

But everyone is free to choose.

Again, I don't neccessarily like Madonna's songs, but that doesn't mean she can't write amazing music. Madonna is a magnificent songwriter, ask any professional who has seen her work! I don't just mean her written work, I mean seen her work with music and dance in the studio. She is truly brilliant, and that's why she made it!

If you think Madonna is brilliant and anyone who disagrees with you is clueless about music you must be a total idiot. You probable think Britney Spears and Paris Hilton are brilliant too. You probably think Madonna really is like a virgin, since she is such a brilliant songwriter. Madonna’s songwriting, like her singing, is mediocre at best and downright bad most of the time.

I can’t believe you insult people because they realize Madonna is talentless and not brilliant. But I don’t want to argue. Can you name 5 songs that Madonna has written that you think are brilliant? Most of the contestants on American Idol have far more talent than Madonna. Catherine McPhee(who sang Over the Rainbow), for example, is far more talented than Madonna. Can you imagine a no talent like Madonna even attempting to sing Over the Rainbow before an audience without completely embarrassing herself?

I'm not trying to insult you, I'm just trying to educate you about why Madonna is a great musician because you obviously have no clue what makes a great musician. Why do you think big name musicians want to work with Madonna?

Number one, her work ethic is nothing short of spectacular. She has written music with Bono,(U2) Mick Jaggar, (Stones) Jeff Paccaro, (Toto) Richard Marx, Reggie Lucas,(Miles Davis) Rebbie Jackson, Randy Crawford,(4 tops) Roberta Flack, David Huff (Giant) Dave Weckl (drums) Nile Rodgers - (One of the premier producers ever to be in the music business Producer/Musician) Randy "The Emperor" (LOL!) Jackson (bass & AI fame), Prince, New York Philharmonic Orchestra, ect... Way too many more musicians to mention! I'm not kidding, I could take up this whole thread with just the people who have worked with, or wanted to work with her.

Let me tell you what happens when Madonna gets ready to make an album...she doesn't call anyone, they all line up to do her albums and she picks out of a group of musicians which are monumentous in the world of studio and live performing. What you need to grasp about her is her unblievable musicianship to be able to work with different kinds of musicians which all envy her writing ability.

Like I said, I don't neccessarily like her music, but if you understand how music moves and works she is nothing less than a BRILLIANT writer, and every musician that works with her says so. Even those that don't want to work with her, respect the living daylights out of her ability because she is a straight up PERFECTIONIST.

Some songs I think are Brilliantly written songs musically..."Live To Tell," "Ray Of Light ," "Frozen," "Holiday," "Boarderline," "Express Yourself," "Vogue" "Open Your Heart," I don't even like some of those songs but let me tell you this they are greatly written songs! That music could be turned into almost any genre of music and be just as successful. Someone who can make music like this is a "brilliant" song writer!

Just go look at the work she has done and prepare to be astonished, because I don't know of another musician who demands the sort of respect she gets from all genres.

I'm just saying....

Enough with the Madonna shtick.

"Holeee-day-uh......it would be so nice..........."

Her songs are catchy jingles which are instantly forgettable. They're OK, but definitely not worthy of the adjective "brilliant". It's a word which is thrown around far too much. There's nothing innovative, novel or genre defining amongst it. Nothing groundbreaking. There are no classics nor musical landmarks amongst it. It's indistinguishable from the pap that Spears, Aguilera, Lavigne, Duff et al., put out today. She's their model.

As far as songwriting goes, theres almost a formula for writing these types of bouncy jingles. It's "Backstreet Boys" type-music. Artificial and manufactured with a good portion of hype and marketing finesse thrown in.

It almost pains me to call out this frustrated stupidity on parade. I don't give a flee-flying crap if you don't think so, the numbers and professional musicians say differently. If me being an amature musician can recognize her quality, surely I'm going to take their word for it!

Tell me how many top 10 hits do you think Madonna has had compared to other muscians you think might be great? This is not about LIKEABILITY, it's about being able to write music which is consistanly listened too by a wide genre of audience who buys her stuff! All those songs I mentioned are all top 5 hits and I could have named twenty more! So you have no clue what you're talking about...

When you sell millions of CD's worldwide you better believe you're "defining." Not too many others even come close to that! Again, I don't even really listen to her music and RUSH is my favorite band, but I recognize smart songwriting when I hear it. You know you even make my case more for me with this line:

...Spears, Aguilera, Lavigne, Duff et al., put out today. She's their model.

Yep, highly successful talent. She is thier model because Madonna's a brilliant talent and they all recognize it. Aguilera has an unbelieveable voice!

I just don’t think songs like Holiday, Vogue etc are anything close to brilliant.

Here's the point. Madonna writes these songs, they are all top 10 hits, not too many others consistanly over their careers can write hit songs over and over. In her genre and those who have followed her path have also become hugely successful. (As another poster pointed out, Spears, Aguilera, Lavigne, Duff etc..) Some of the biggest names in the music industry want to work with her. The songs she creates and helps create are brilliant because they sell over a wide genre. There are not too many musicians who can write like this. That's why she writes "smart" songs. Have you seen the numbers on those two songs you mentioned, they are probably 2 of her biggest hits.

People confuse brilliance with likeability and they're two seperate things.

Music is like butter beans. You might like them, hate them, love them, or loathe them, but they are packed with essential vitamins you're body needs. Madonna is packed with brilliant song writing because people consistantly buy her music...and not only that they continue to listen to it!

Madonna and Guy Ritchie own a 1200-acre 18th-century estate in Wiltshire. Although she is the lady of the manor, she's not to the manor born.

Now that her "veddy, veddy British" gig apparently is grinding to a halt, she's reverting to her real type, a strumpet trolling the streets for low-life to share her bed and breakfast. A-Rod is seemingly in her sights right now.....and he's loving it.

I feel sorry for Guy......he is a decent guy and way too good for a tramp like Madonna. I hope he escapes her clutches, gets to keep the manor and ends up marrying a nice little English lassie who will appreciate both him and his upcoming chunk of Madonna's considerable fortune.

Whilst we're all hugely impressed with your inside knowledge of the music industry and the fact that you're an amateur musician, you can drop the patronizing tone.

There isn't one of Madonna's songs, not one, that will be remembered in 2 or 3 decades time as a truly great song. Nobody will look back and point to any of her songs as a defining point in popular music. Name one. There are none. There are no Pet Sounds or Sargeant Peppers amongst it. Lay off with the hyperbole. It's OK, catchy dance music, nothing more.

Your point about professional musicians wanting to work with her is essentially meaningless. Pick up any album off the shelf by almost any popular artist and look at the credits. You're virtually guaranteed to see someone of interest who's collaborated. Of course professional musicians want to work with her. It's the business. I'd want to collaborate too if I thought the record was going to sell millions. That doesn't make her "brilliant". Her "brilliance", if she has any, is primarily in the image marketing sphere.

You haven’t “slaughtered” my opinion. You just keep repeating two points. One, Madonna must be brilliant because some good musicians played with her. Good musicians play with popular, talentless singers all the time. It’s just part of the entertainment business. Two, “The songs she creates and helps create are brilliant because they sell over a wide genre.” Britney Spears and many other pop stars with very limited talent sell a lot of CD’s. But if this convinces you that Madonna is brilliant, that’s fine. I’m not trying to change your mind.

LOL! They're all remembered after 2 decades right now that's the point and still played today on radio, not forgotten!

Look, what you're doing is equating likeability with good song writing, which I'll admit, is mostly an opinion. The Beatles, no doubt are brilliant songwriters, how many hits did they have?

You can sit there and NOT like Madonna's work, but you can not deny her success, musically.

You definately do not understand the point about other GREAT musicians wanting to work with her. You may see one or two "collaborations" but you don't see hundreds on other peoples work.

The brilliance means "Great Brightness." When Madonna writes a song she has to have that music connect with people, it's easy to write a song, it's difficult to write a song millions of people will listen to and buy and also KEEP listening to and buying. Why is "Like A Virgin" brilliant, because million of tennie boppers and others connect with it, just like people connect with "Maybe I'm Amazed." Modonna performs the song and only Madonna made it what it is. No one else probably could have. I hate that friggin song and think it sux, BUT it's brilliantly conceived! (Just like the oxy-moron I have now invented! LOL!) All music is opinion. When you write a song you only know if it's good by who buys it and listens.

I didn't ask whether they'd be playing on the radio. You can find anything playing on the radio. It proves nothing.

I asked you to name one which would be considered a standard.

You couldn't.

You can sit there and NOT like Madonna's work, but you can not deny her success, musically.

I didn't say I didn't like it.

Here's what I actually said:"It's OK, catchy dance music, nothing more".

I'm dissenting from your use of the word brilliant, get it? Her music is banal pap which says nothing. It's catchy jingles which she packages and sells very well.

Don't go there with the "if lots of people buy it, then it must be brilliant" argument. If that makes it brilliant, then so is rap "music" ( I use the word loosely), WWE rasslin', Baywatch, or any other trashy icon of popular culture.
