The Mediator (the quarterly newsletter of the awesome evangelical outreach to Hollywood, MasterMedia Internatonal) reports that Oprah Winfrey now airs a one-hour daily radio show on her XM satellite radio channel that takes listeners through the 365 lessons in the New Age tome "A Course in Miracles." The folks at MasterMedia got their information from truthorfiction.com
If you're not familiar with the teachings of A Course In Miracles (which were supposedly channeled to the author by Jesus) you can check out the quotes on the truthorfiction page above (some of the quotes are from other New Age books, but the ones from ACIM are bad enough on their own) or take a look at this detailed biblical response to the Course. But, if you're pressed for time, these passages should be enough to tell you that Oprah is way, way on the wrong side of Galatians 1:8--
"The exercises teach sin is not real, and all that you believe must come from sin will never happen, for it has no cause. Accept Atonement with an open mind, which cherishes no lingering belief that you have made a devil of God's Son. There is no sin. We practice with this thought as often as we can today, because it is the basis for today's idea."--ACIM workbook, lesson 101
"My salvation comes from me. It cannot come from anywhere else."--ACIM Workbook, lesson 70
"Do not make the pathetic human error of 'clinging to the old rugged cross.' The only message of the crucifixion was that we can overcome the cross. Unless you do so, you are free to crucify yourself as often as you choose. But this is not the gospel I intended to offer you."--Chapter 4, The Root of All Evil.
Whoa Mama! Add in her promotion of the similarly heretical views of Eckhart Tolle (see here and here) and past-life regression and you can see that arguably the most influential woman in America is leading her fans down a broad, broad road.

I just watched a YouTube video on this topic this morning. Maybe Oprah’s new religion is the reason her viewership is down. An awful lot of Christian women who know the Truth may be getting fed up with the crap Oprah sells.

Oprah has been possessed and infested by the doctrine of devils.
That Old Rugged Cross she dismisses so impudently is where my Saviour died and shed His Blood for me. I'll be clinging to that Cross long after Oprah Winfrey has heard the Words "depart from Me ye accursed, into the fire prepared for the Devil and his angels!"
Whether she likes it or not, Oprah is going to one day bow down on her knees and confess with her mouth that "JESUS CHRIST IS LORD" and no number of free cars or bags of goodies will get her in the Kingdom of Heaven.
She needs to get right with Jesus RIGHT NOW because tomorrow is promised to nobody, and it is appointed once unto us to die, and then the Judgment.
And that is no "Secret".

There are only two religions.
Hers is just another in the long line of “man is basically good” versions.

The thing that worries me is that it might be more from her Obama shilling than the religion. Now, of course I dislike the Democrats, but it would still be disturbing to me if masses of American women are thinking “False prophet, OK; endorses a Dem for President, she can jump in a lake.” Or even worse, “Wow, I was loving all that great spiritual teaching, but then she got political.”

Seriously, if you can find anywhere in this thread or anywhere on the Internet where I've said Ms. Winfrey has no right to express herself or should be censored in any way, I'll send you $100. Ms. Winfrey has every right to tell her listeners the oldest lies in the Universe, and I have every right to call it a load of garbage and point the way to the truth. Instead of reading it, and opening their hearts to it, some people just interpret it from afar to meet their needs.

I've thought it is Stedman Graham who influences Oprah in this area. From a March/April 2001 interview:
INTERVIEW: STEDMAN GRAHAM
MAKING IT HAPPEN
Stedman Grahams steps for success.
By Patricia Baldwin
You dedicated your book to Oprah Winfrey. Can you leave us with some closing remarks about her and what it means to you to have someone in your life who obviously shares your strong values and beliefs?
Its interesting about her. She epitomizes the process. She understands the process because she found her passion. She loves to talk. Shes made a career out of communication. And she does it very well. She does it better than anybody I know. And shes passionate about it. Its the one thing that she loves more than anything else shes ever done. Shes been in television since she was 17, but it was later that she discovered her love and discovered her passion. Shes been able to build a life around that passion. Thats the answer for everybody.
Shes an example of being able to understand how the process works. Shes been able to build a vision. Shes been able to plan it every single day. Shes built a strong team around her to make it work. She makes good decisions based on having good information. Shes one of those fortunate ones, along with [businessmen] Bill Gates and Warren Buffet, who was in our class last week. He talked about the passion of making money. He just loves to be able to make money. Its not about spending money. Its not about the luxury of money. He just likes making money. As a child, he had a coin changer and he was very good at numbers. He put all of that together, based on his passion, and he built an enormous business empire.
So the passion can be a talent?
Its Wheres your genius? Its the genius in everybody. Where is it? What is it? Whats your talent? What are your skills? What makes you unique? Thats what you have to find. And then you can build a life around that because thats what drives you. That puts the emotional piece into your life the bond between heart and job, so to speak. Heart and work. Heart and destiny. Connect all that together. But youve got to connect your life to your heart. If you dont, youre misaligned. You just go through the motions looking for things to do, hoping that it will satisfy you. Youll never find it until you first search within to find out where your true power is and where your true passion is. That truth is the fuel that keeps you going in spite of all the obstacles and difficulties you might have in your life.

In a quiet and gentlemanly manner he made scores of Dems lose their temper when we freeped Barack Obama, and Dick Durbin tried to shout him down. I remember on Election Day in 2004 we went to Dubuque with a HUGE Bush-Cheney sign and another sign that read “Flush the Johns.” We took turns shaking a plunger at passing cars, too. Good times. :-)
