make something different to world | 08-08-08 | nelson kua yong huat

Posted on 08/07/2008 3:09:35 AM PDT by nelsonkua

Dear sir/madam,

i am nelson kua yong huat . i would like to share some view over the religion issue In our world ,we have many religions . that means we have many gods at the same time. is it possible to find out which gods has more super natural power of transforming or all the gods has the great super natural power to transform to anythings?

if the answer is [yes] they can,so ,is possible there is one god who can transform to become all the religions of gods becuase when the time thousand years ago there was hard to travel to one country to another ,so, to teach the mankind with pure and enlighterment knowlege is hard to reach .so that ,the god transfrom to different kind of gods to teach the people the knowlege of enlighterment to different kinds of people, culture and countrys. nowaday people misunderstanding the meaning of religion and start to fight with each others for the greed and the name for themself but not for god, as u can see gods never fight with each others.

if we can find the same point of the religions then people will have no more conflict and argue in religions because every religions is the great and from one god. so we can learn from each others[ religions ]then choise which one u think suit u most. if we can change the mind then the arguement in religions will stop, the world will be no more fight over the religion issues.we need to do somthing to change the world. Dont just dialogue ,we need more action to save the world. learn from the god in the books but dont learn the person who give u the book. thats all i want to share with u all. 10s. :P

good religion -good person-good home values-good social-good politic-good enviroment-good country-good world.

Oh, do I hear the melodious strains of “Kumbayah” wafting over the land of the one-world?
Can’t we all just turn to strawberry jello?
Can’t we all just get along?
Even John Lennon at his sappiest, can’t match this.

I don’t think this writer is a troll. But he is looking for a universal religion which I doubt he will find.

Nelson,

Welcome to Free Republic and good luck!

Don’t confuse disputes about religion with political disputes carried out in the name of religion. They are quite different. The first is a search for ultimate truth. The second is a search for political power using religion as the tool to bludgeon people into agreeing to give you that political power. In the United States most religions dispute among themselves about truth but they have peace because they generally don’t try to exercise political power to force others to accept their religion.

There is little to be gained in religion archaeology anymore than might be gained in linquistic archaeology. It might be an interesting exercise to find the common threads of all religions, but religion is not static and all faiths have changed over the millenia. The most anyone can do is open their hearts and minds to truth and seek confirmation of that truth from God. Peace is a byproduct of such searches, not an end of itself. Good luck in your quest.

Nelson, you said:

"In our world ,we have many religions . that means we have many gods at the same time."

There are different opinions about "many religions", and many of those opinions do not believe that "many religions" means we have many "gods".

Some opinions hold that different religions arose from when and how different people, at different times, responded to what they believed to be inspiration from God and, in that way, the different names for "God" and the different descriptions for "God" are derived from the language and culture of each different group of people, in isolation of each other - but maybe referring to One god.

Some opinions hold that different religions arose as people developed what they believed to be the "best rules" to live by, and wanting their fellow humans to follow those rules described them as rules that came from the only thing greater, and above, all life as they know it - God, the 'gods', the heavenly kingdom, etc.

Some opinions hold that the truth is somewhere between both of those opinions. There is one God that is imperfectly understood by imperfect human beings. Some persons hold that only one opinion, their opinion, has the one true, perfect opinion of God and all others are in error. I would guess that even if ANY one religious opinion (including mine, as a Christian) is "more" perfect than ANY other it is not PERFECT in the eyes of God; because I know of no living human that can perfectly live or perfectly reflect the totality of God. Everyone falls short of God's perfection - EVERYONE.

"is it possible to find out which gods has more super natural power of transforming or all the gods has the great super natural power to transform to anythings?

Yes, and No. It IS possible, but any other person can only tell you ONE path for a journey - a spiritual journey, a journey to find God for yourself - that you must take to find that answer. The path they suggest can only be as perfect or imperfect as their own. It is better that you start with the most basic things you truly believe about God and then through prayer and faith ask God directly to guide your path to a greater understanding. God knows your heart and if you go to God in complete honesty God can, and will, not only guide your belief, your faith, among the many religious opinions that you question but God can also correct your belief, as a parent corrects a child, if need be.

You are right, that to kill other people for religion is not right. But most of us believe that the ONLY answer is not a perfect answer; that the only answer now, at this time in human civilization, IS NOT one religion, but simply the agreement to PEACEFULLY disagree about religion. The only answer for now, for the moment, for peace, IS NOT one religion but freedom of religion

Because PERFECTION exists only with God and, for us only in our imagination. Perfection is a utopia, and all utopias are human myths; a "perfect" world, which we humans, on our own, cannot create. What one man believes as "perfect", another will say is not perfect, and immediately the argument begins all over again. The BEST we can hope for is not to be "perfect", it is FREEDOM, including the freedom to peacefully disagree.

LOL!

"We come from the land of the ice and snow, From the midnight sun where the hot springs blow.

The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands, To fight the horde, singing and crying: Valhalla, I am coming!

On we sweep with threshing oar, Our only goal will be the western shore.

We come from the land of the ice and snow, From the midnight sun where the hot springs blow.

How soft your fields so green, can whisper tales of gore,

Of how we calmed the tides of war.

We are your overlords. On we sweep with threshing oar, Our only goal will be the western shore.

So now you'd better stop and rebuild all your ruins, For peace and trust can win the day despite of all your losing."

Welcome to FreeRepublic nelsonkua.

In your dialog you wrote: "In our world ,we have many religions . that means we have many gods at the same time. is it possible to find out which gods has more super natural power of transforming or all the gods has the great super natural power to transform to anythings?

"if the answer is [yes] they can,so ,is possible there is one god who can transform to become all the religions of gods...

IF this were true that there are many Gods serving many religions, what makes you believe they get along? What makes you believe one God wouldn't have it in for another God in order to ascend to the throne of "Greatest God"?

What makes you believe that these diverse Gods can come together to elect (I submit that's how it would have to occur; we certainly don't have any input, do we?) the "Greatest God"?

You see? This is why the greatest, most widespread religion on Earth is a religion where there are no "other" Gods. There is already but one God. That's called monotheism.

So, I propose your entire thesis is not only suspect but not worth pursuing. You're not going to get anywhere. Certainly the "Gods" as you think of them won't be interested. I suggest pursuing other, more fruitful, pursuits.

Can I interest you in the Bible, perhaps?

Nelson, welcome to Free Republic.

I can tell you there is only one God, only one who will bring peace and salvation, and his name is Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them: "Rulers and elders of the people! If we are being called to account today for an act of kindness shown to a cripple and are asked how he was healed, then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed. He is

" 'the stone you builders rejected, which has become the capstone.'

Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."--Acts 4:8-12

When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: "Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades." --Revelation 1:17,18
