A US company has launched what it claims to be the world's first exclusively internet TV station.

IBL News reports that Amigot Corp New York has designed and engineered for a group of businessmen of Indiana, Real Catholic TV.com, said to be the first television station ot its kind on the internet.

Starting September 1, the station features daily news, daily political commentary, daily features on saints and history as well as regular episodes on morality, movie reviews, entertainment, apologetics and much more.

With its own proprietary technology, the station will provide viewers with free access to home page content, daily news and commentary (current events and politics) from the Catholic perspective, messages directly from Catholic bishops to the faithful, and program previews.

Premium memberships for US$10 per month will allow access to the full site which includes original programming including talk shows, movie/book/art reviews, programs featuring Church teaching on morality and doctrine.

The station claims the backing of various bishops in the US including Archbishop Charles Joseph Chaput of Denver and others.

RealCatholic TV was formed in early 2008 by lay Catholics who claim to be faithful to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church with extensive experience in commercial broadcast television, specifically network and local television news, and Fortune 500 companies.

I may be a protestant but this looks great! Hopefully this will pave way for more networks by evangelicals, Jews, Greek/eastern Orthodox ETC.

No thanks, I will stick with Christian stations. Catholics teach stuff not in the Bible. And no, Catholics are NOT Christians.

Do Catholics go to hell as a sort of first principles thing?

Totally cool.

Just registered at the site and it starts Oct. 1. $10 a month is very reasonable.

Thanks! What a great catch.

“Do Catholics go to hell as a sort of first principles thing?”

Don’t bring up Augustine, you’ll just confuse ‘em.

Catholics teach stuff not in the Bible.

Well, if there's one thing your post makes clear, you didn't learn grammar in a Catholic school.

Bible “Christians” believe hell was made for Catholics, Jews, Muslims, and Hitler. In that order.

Not all of them are like that.

God Bless you!

Polling Protestant FReepers, just about all disagree with that poster.

Catholic FReepers also, mostly think Protestants are Brothers and Sisters in Christ.

That’s my point. He doesn’t speak for anyone except himself, hence, the quotation marks. I don’t confess to know many evangelicals, but the ones I do know have the decency to acknowledge that I’m a Christian, too.

When I am among secularists, a fellow believer and follower of Christ is a breath of fresh air. If we could just be a little more civil and Christ like with fellow Christians, this would be a much kinder and Christian world!

Catholics teach stuff not in the Bible. And no, Catholics are NOT Christians.

What Christian are you?

Jesus said to Peter “You are the rock and upon the rock I shall build my church ..and the gates of hell shall not prevail...”(*)

So, it was no less than Jesus who created hierarchy among his disciples and it was Simon called PETER (English name for Latin Petrus) who was chosen by Jesus as a leader for His church.

Jesus, naming Simon a “Petrus”,(petrus means ‘a rock’ in the Latin language), actually named him “a-solid-powerful-foundation”, He named him “a solid rock” and then proclaimed to build his everlasting Church upon that "powerful foundation", Simon Petrus.

Conclusions:

Did Jesus manage to build His invincible Church by giving its fate to the hands of Peter? Let's see:

Peter passed down his leadership and the inheritance of Christ to his disciple Mark, Mark passed it down to...[...]...passed down to John Paul II and JP2 to Benedict XVI.
(see relevant sources!)

So, there is only one legal line of leaders passed down from st.Peter to Benedict XVI, and, as you may know, they are/were leaders of, they are WITHIN THE CATHOLIC CHURCH.

HOWEVER! WHAT IF PETER'S LINE IS FALSE? What if Peter's legacy broke somewhere within 2000-year period of time? Then...either Jesus was a liar, fully conscious of his lies, or he was a kind of a romantic dreamer who actually didn't know what he said (*)

As far as I am concerned, I believe Jesus is the Son of God, I believe He is the Truth (never lied), I believe Peter was chosen by Him to create His Everlasting Church and Jesus knew His choice was good (wasn't "a romantic dreamer") , and I know the church that had been built upon Simon the Rock finally adopted the name CATHOLIC...and this is the church I proudly belong to.

This church is the only REAL and TRUE Church of Jesus Christ because it was built by Jesus himself upon Simon the Peter and is confirmed by presence and power of the Holy Spirit. And I don't care about all those countless so called "Christian churches" created by many different bigoted visionaries or TV stars like eg. a Watson, a Johnson or a Smith, or any other man in the world, no matter his name.

What is it that the Catholic Church teaches that is not in the Bible? I’m curious.

Also, do you know by chance who translated the scriptures into the Bible that you are using?

Also, can you tell me if the Bible you use is new or the one that was in use prior to Martin Luther breaking away from the Catholic Church. He used the Catholic Church’s Bible, because until he broke away, there weren’t any Protestants. I think he shortened the Bible by eliminating certain books in the Old Testament, but I wasn’t aware of a new Bible being written. I don’t think St. Jerome was Protestant. Let us know who wrote your Bible.
