Today starts the trial of the murderer of the granddaughter of a dear friend. She was killed by an on again, off again boyfriend, who claims that it was an accident.
My friend and her family have not been dealing well with their sorrow and feelings of guilt that they did not know how dangerous this man was.
Please offer a prayer for them as they go through this terrible ordeal.
I just said a prayer.
No one should feel guilty about a lack of knowledge. I doubt he introduced himself to the family with "Hi, my names Bob and I'm abusive and dangerous." Hindsight is a lot better than foresight, and I hope they come to understand this and realize that the only guilty party is the perp himself.
I pray that Jesus will bless and help your friend and her family.

Prayers that justice prevails. I lost my beloved Godchild and nephew to someone who murdered him and was never brought to justice for it. Our heavenly Father knows and will be the ultimate judge.

I'm very sorry to read of your loss. I often think, when I see criminals going unpunished, that they would be better off admitting guilt and asking for the maximum punishment. I have no doubt that they will face justice in due time, regardless of what happens to them here on earth.

Thank you and God Bless you all for the heartfelt prayers. The jury is seated and testimony begins today. I will let everyone know how it ends.
But, as I will be very busy over the next few days with a Catholic Daughter event, I will be unable to post.
Again, thank you all, my friend is aware of your prayers and that knowledge brings her comfort when she is in court. FReepers are the best, I am grateful God lead me here.

The trial is over and they found the young man guilty of second degree murder with a recommendation of a minimum 20 years. Thank God it is over and that he will do jail time for his crime.
