or do what you can. Last year great inroads in the fight against the culture of death were made. This is supernatural warfare here! Much is at stake in this election year.
This prayer and sacrifice effort begins on September 24th. Please be a part.
Ave Maria!
Are you trying to get Catholics to fast at a time that overlaps with Ramadan?
Will I see visions and speak in tongues?
I can barely make it 40 minutes before I’m hungry again.
Are you a Catholic Charismatic?
If you were, you would realize that this is about stopping abortions in your own area. Please pray!!
the info at the site shows that the 40 day fast and prayer was to end today, not begin.
It begins on the 24th of September in our area.
really, guess I will join in.

'Being Human' spotlights 40 Days for Life just prior to kickoff!
Just days before simultaneous campaigns launch in more than 170 cities in the United States and Canada, the 40 Days for Life effort was the focus of a world premiere documentary on the EWTN global network. Here's a brief excerpt:
"This episode of BeingHuman focuses on the stories and successes that prayer, fasting, and peaceful vigil have accomplished through 40 Days for Life campaigns that have now spread across the country and around the globe," said national campaign director David Bereit. "This show offers a great opportunity to get people in communities across the nation involved in this initiative."
The campaign runs September 24 through November 2.
Which will be the first abortion-free states?
Despite the increasingly shrill rhetoric of the abortion industry, the simple truth is that business is off, said David Bereit, national campaign director of 40 Days for Life.
Abortion numbers have dropped so significantly that several states are now down to only one or two remaining abortion centers," he said. "This falls 40 Days for Life campaign presents a great opportunity to finish the life-saving work in these states, creating abortion-free zones and encouraging other states to follow suit.
This fall, 40 Days for Life vigils will take place at the last remaining abortion centers in North Dakota and Mississippi, states which each have only one remaining abortion facility, as well as the last two abortion facilities in Nebraska and the last two in Kentucky.

Get involved with 40 Days for Life!
David Bereit, the national campaign director of 40 Days for Life, recently spoke to a pro-life group in Baltimore. His remarks were captured in the video below. He related stories about some of the campaign's heroes and listed six key points involved in discerning your role in this fall's 40 Days for Life effort:
Watch the video ... then find a local campaign to get involved with!
Check the posot from their site. You can put in your zip code and find out if something is happening in your area.
Oops. post from their site.
I participated the last time in Louisville and am all signed up and ready to go again on Sunday, 10/5 in Louisville, too.
Thanks for posting this, as it is very important.
I’ll be there in Fort Worth.
I know, it’s just that seeing visions and speaking in tongues is, you know, cool.
you know if you aren’t of the persuasion why respond? other than to be a jerk about it, i mean?
Pro-Life PING
Please FreepMail me if you want on or off my Pro-Life Ping List.
Because the post was put up on Free Republic, not waitingfortherapture.com. If the writer is not interested in differing viewpoints, FR was a bad choice of parchment.
My prayer vigil begins next Saturday at the local Planned Parenthood facility. I encourage all to pray for the next 40 days whether you take a public stance and whether or not you fast.
Choose Life. (Deut.30:19)
i mistakenly thought only liberals made fun of people’s religious beliefs. it was posted on the RELIGION forum of FR. i expected better from you, a long time freeper, i guess.
I’m in.
I’m Praying for a complete healing of this cancer. I pray that it will be cut out, and we will be completely healed.
I really wanted to join up this year, but I'm 7 mos. pregnant (so much for fasting) and my back keeps going out once a week, keeping me pretty much laid up at home. Oh well, time to pray!
Discuss the issues all you want, but do not make it personal.
I came to that conclusion too. If no one posts the 40 Days for Life tomorrow, I will.
Don’t worry — you can always sit down at home and pray. That’s what I did last year when my hip hurt so badly and this last Lent when I was in the hospital getting a new artificial hip.
I’m in. I recently started praying a separate rosary against abortion, infanticide, child abuse and neglect. What a coincidence.
I’m absolutely overjoyed to hear that abortion is declining.
I am not Catholic. I am a born again believer in Jesus Christ. He is my only hope of eternal salvation. There is only one way to The Father and that is through The Son. I am and will be setting apart certain days to fast and pray. We must ask God to show us any sin we may be committing knowingly or unknowingly and set our hearts to repent. I am praying every day that God through His mercy and power will deliver us from this great evil which is Obama. Lord have mercy on us in Jesus Holy Name. As horrifically terrible as abortion is, as it murder of the most helpless and innocent of us, Obama represents vast and great evil on every moral front. He is an anti-Christ./p>
Bellflower, Catholics are also born-again believers in Jesus Christ, and we too place all our hope in Him alone for our eternal salvation - there is NO other way to the Father! Thanks for bringing attention to the matters upon which Catholics and evangelicals can agree, rather than emphasizing our points of disagreement.
Senator Obama is probably the most pro-death presidential candidate this country has ever known. On Sunday afternoon, one of our deacons encouraged us to focus our 40 Days for Life prayer intentions on the election of a pro-life president, and I think that’s quite appropriate given the differences between the two major party candidates. McCain certainly isn’t perfect (especially given the lack of clarity on his views on ESCR), but the alternative is so much worse. I could think of worse things to do than lift this election in prayer while remembering the souls of the innocent who die as a result of abortion and ESCR.
