Sorry, Not this Time: USA Crucifying Jesus?

Stop what you are doing for a second. This is important. How important? Well it’s the most important thing EVER. As a country it is my contention that the United States is perched precariously on the edge of a great abyss. It is that same abyss from which the Anti-Christ will arrive. You see the great city of Babylon in the Bible, in my opinion, is the United States, and oh how the mighty have fallen.

Senator Barack Obama has said a lot of things that are not true in this election, but one thing he has said that is true is that America is not what it should be. I admit that when he said this, my hair bristled. “America is still the greatest country on earth,” I thought to myself. But somewhere along the line America forgot what made her great. Americans started buying into the myth that “America the melting pot” is the key to her greatness, but never can that be true.

What has made America great is not her political correctness and tolerance; it was her leader, her cornerstone – Jesus Christ. Despite what you have been told in your “politically correct” textbooks, America was formed as a Christian nation and was easily the most identifiable Christian nation on earth. Then we decided that making people happy and comfortable was more important than what was right and wrong. It was more important to be tolerant than correct. If you don’t believe me, or if you are not Christian, I urge you to see for yourself. Research it. Open a Bible to Revelations 18 and replace Babylon with USA. You owe yourself that.

So what happened? Government happened, the very same people that have broken our free market by forcing banks to make loans to people they knew couldn’t afford them because they did not want to offend anyone has taken God out of our country for the same reasons. Gone is prayer in school because we did what was politically correct versus what was right. Have you ever thought about that word – politically correct? In its very makeup it shows that it is only correct for political purposes – votes. But it’s not just government that has helped poison the water.

Once proud Christian churches have allowed their teachings to become corrupted by a desire to be politically correct as well. In law school they taught us that a person is more likely to remember an event if it happened recently than if it happened some time ago. Lawyers, therefore, use this as a trap. If someone has said something inconsistent at trial with testimony they gave closer to the time of occurrence, it can be used against them. We call it “refreshing recollect.” So if Christian churches in the United States used to stand firm against abortion, gay relationships, and other means of reaching Heaven besides Christ, why do many now believe these things are acceptable? Have we become more intelligent than our grandfathers? Two words – political correctness. Many state that we have evolved as a people and are more open thinking. Well good for us, but once wrong in God’s eyes – always wrong.

Let me tell you an absolute truth – the only way to go to Heaven is through Jesus Christ. Let me tell you that again – the ONLY WAY to be saved is through JESUS CHRIST. He died for all of our sins great and small. Preachers such as Joel Osteen have said their may be other ways to God. Oprah Winfrey hints that each religion has a way. They are both wrong, and so are many other churches that have corrupted the Bible. THE ONLY WAY is JESUS. Else wise he would have died in vain. Why would he have died so we can get to Heaven if there was another way? There is not. He did not.

So as our proud country sets dangerously close to electing a President of whose alleged Christianity I am skeptical, we may be getting what we deserve. Just remember that our God is a loving God, but he is not a TOLERANT God. He is not a politically correct God. He is a jealous God. And he will not allow the United States, a country he made the greatest in the entire world, to crucify Jesus Christ yet again. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What you must do! 1. Admit your need (I am a Sinner) 2. Be willing to turn from Sin (Repent) 3. Believe that Jesus Christ Died for you (On the Cross) 4. Through Prayer, Receive him as Personal Lord and Savior

John 3:16

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believth in him should not perish, But have Everlasting Life.

John 11:25

Jesus Said unto her, I am the ressurection, and the life: He that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.

Generally agree with most of your post, esp. the latter part.

I will review Rev 18 in the context you’re putting it before rendering an opinion on that.

First, I'll address my pet peeve on this issue: Revelation is singular.

Now, on to the issues...

There can be zero doubt that the Great Falling Away is in progress, but I do not believe the USA is the endtimes Babylon. I believe Babylon, Iraq, is the endtimes Babylon. Yes, a wildly prosperous Iraq will be necessary for that to happen, but guess what? A wildly prosperous Iraq is now not only feasible, but likely.

My big concern for the USA is that there is no clear reference to us in biblical prophecy. There's one passage about an eagle coming to the aid of Israel, but that's tenuous at best.

WOGAM (War of Gog & Magog) is for the first time in history imminently possible, and my interpretation of the Bible is that Israel will stand utterly alone so that the source of her supernatural rescue is clear to all who are willing to see.

From our perspective as Americans, the big question must be, "WHY do we not stand with Israel when she is attacked by a massive Russian-led coalition?" Is it because we will have elected a president who abandons her? Or is it because we are not capable of coming to her rescue? Either alternative is way scary.

It isn’t. It is the opinion of the author. It is my opinion as well.

Bible trumps constitution. It is partly because the constitution did not clearly call it out that we can, in broad daylight, stray from it. It will also be our undoing.

I take Revelation 18:4 very seriously.

“Now fear the Lord and serve him with all faithfulness. Throw away the gods your forefathers worshiped beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord. But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, them choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”
-Joshua 24:14-15

I have been telling people for the last couple years I believe this nation could be the Babylon of Revelation 17 and 18. It is the only nation that fits the description to a tee.

And yes, our only hope is making Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.

Disagree.

The Bible is Ireal-centered.

I’m not convinced that the USA not mentioned in the Bible for the same reason that Brazil isn’t mentioned. It isn’t about us. It is about God’s plan for mankind and how He will use His chosen people to execute His plan. The Abrahamic covenent lays the foundation.

There’s no doubt that the country is being tested. Have we ever, in an election, had the candidates so diametrically opposed? The choices are very clear. Probably not PC to say this, but things are black and white; there are no gray areas. Which path will we choose? Are we satisfied with indecent behavior, our children running wild, etc? Is there enough goodness left to lift us up, again, to become the great nation that the founding fathers envisioned? We’re fighting for McCain/Palin. We’re fighting for our souls.

WILL THE WORLD END IN 2012???

It is evident to me there is prophecy in Scripture
we cannot recognize until AFTER it has happened.
With that in mind, there is something I discovered
in the Bible that could possibly relate to the year 2012.

Every year on New Years Day I make a point to read
the Psalm for that year. This year, I’ll read Psalm 9
and Psalm 20:09 (Save O Lord! May the King answer
us in the day we call!). In 2001, I read Psalm 1. In 2002,
I read Psalm 2... and so on.

When there is a huge disaster or epic event in the
world, I also go to the related Psalms and to the book
of Isaiah. On September 11, 2001, I read Psalm 20,
verse 1 or Psalm 20:01.

May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble! May the
name of the God of Jacob set you securely on high!
(Psalm 20:1)

With all the buzz about the world ending on 2012, I took
a look at Psalm 12. There is no Psalm 20:12, so Psalm 12
is the passage that relates to the year.

Are you ready....?

Hope you’re sitting down...

Wait for it...

Here goes...

Help, Lord, for the godly man ceases to be, for the faithful
disappear from among the sons of men. (Psalm 12, verse 1)

I’m just sayin’...

... Be ready in season and out of season. Prepare your
post rapture letters to loved ones who are left behind.
If you are thinking to yourselves, we cannot know the
Day or the hour when Jesus will return, you are absolutely
Correct.

But… we could know the year.

Is it because we will have elected a president who abandons her?

This is the one elephant in the room that makes me believe that Barack Obama may very well make it to the presidency.

America has to be weakened enough to be unable or unwilling to help Israel when the Ezekiel prophecies occur. Which man running for president would be most likely to get us to that point?

>>Hmm, that’s what the radical Muslims say about the Koran and their government.<<

Yes they do.

But there is not moral parity.

Nazi’s bombed London. British bombed Berlin. There was not moral parity there either. Sometimes one side is actually right.

Don’t get me wrong. Christianity does not support theocracy in the least (except when Jesus Himself rules in the mellinium), but it is the condition of man to fall farther and farther from God which is exactly WHY Jesus had to do what He did.

For ALL Christians, the Bible does trump the constitution. It is always God first, not country.

Personally, I consider him more of a 12th Imam...if this were the true religion.

I do not believe this is the case but it’s creepy nonetheless.

He will be a descendant of Muhammad and the son of Fatima
Will have a broad forehead and pointed nose
Will return just before the end of the world
His appearance will be preceded by a number of prophetic events during 3 years of horrendous world chaos, tyranny and oppression
Will escape from Madina to Mekkah, thousands will pledge allegiance to him
Will rule over the Arabs and the world for 7 years
Will eradicate all tyranny and oppression bringing harmony and total peace
Will lead a prayer in Mekkah which Jesus will be at his side and follow in
Remarkably, the 12th Imam theory plays heavily into the world’s current concerns with Iran. The Shiite Muslim President of Iran, Ahmadinejad, is deeply committed to the Islamic Messiah, al Mahdi. There have been many through the years claiming to be the Hidden Imam but Ahmadinejad believes he is yet to come. He claims that he is to personally prepare the world for the coming Mahdi. In order to save the world, it must be in a state of chaos and subjugation. Ahmadinejad claims he was “directed by Allah to pave the way for the glorious appearance of the Mahdi”. This apocalyptic directive includes some very scary proclamations.

No. You are reading into it and forcing onto it an ahistorical interpretation invented in the 19h century.

But go right ahead, join the ranks of the thousands who have set a date for the Apocalypse, only to be embarrassed and proven wrong.

I’m not convinced that we can know when Jesus will return,
but Scripture tells us that we will know the signs.

I am personally a mid tribber. After all, Noah’s Ark cannot
float until the flood water reaches a certain level.

My thinking about Psalm 12 is merely to pique interest.
And you must admit that Scripture is interesting.

Read the book of Daniel. He shows us, quite plainly, just how to live under and subordinate to [political] authorities God places in our lives as much as is possible.

Jo, some years back I bought a book called "Hidden Prophecies In The Psalms" by J.R. Church. (First addition 1986) He takes each Psalm and relates it to what happened in that particular year. So Psalm 12 would be 1912. He uses verses 2,4 and 5. There is to much there to type out as to how he applies it to 1912. Once it goes past the year he wrote the book he can't compare it to a particular year but he does put what he thinks will happen

I personally don't think anyone knows but he does have some good points and Psalm 109 which I would take as 2009 vv. 1-3 reads; "Hold not thy peace, O God of my praise; For the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of the deceitful are opened against me: they have spoken
against me with a lying tongue.
They compassed me about also with words of hatred; and fought against me without a cause."

The author then states; This is the second of three Psalms of David which give an overview of the Tribulation Period. The previous Psalm depicts the beginning of the Tribulation, while this Psalm concentrates on the antichrist and his provocative abomination of desolation. The third Psalm of David (110) alludes to the glorious appearing of Christ at Armageddon. David sees into the far future and addressed the generation in which anti-Semitism will flourish . Jew hatred will reach its peak during the Tribulation period. The Jews will be blamed once again for the ills beset mankind.

One is tempted to think the future antichrist could follow the footsteps of Hitler. Psalm 109 contains a vivid reference to the antichrist. David wrote;

"Set thou a wicked man over him: and let satan stand at his right hand" (v8)

The author then says; "The wicked man will become the dictator of those who hated and persecuted the Jews. This wicked man will have satan standing at his right hand could be none other than the antichrist. etc;

[... some years back I bought a book called “Hidden Prophecies In The Psalms” by J.R. Church...]

Yes! I read that same book, but I found the prophecy
connection a bit stretched for my taste. And... his
theory wasn’t consistent. Sometimes it would be the
book, sometimes it would be the verse.

Church’s book inspired me to pay attention to Scripture
in relationship to dates. No formulae, no voodoo, just
noting what it says and the date.

Like the day the towers fell, I was reading Revelation 18:

Verse 9 says...
“And the kings of the earth, who committed acts of immorality
and lived sensuously with her, will weep and lament over her when
they see the smoke of her burning,

Verse 11 says...
“And the merchants of the earth weep and mourn over her, because
no one buys their cargoes any more—

Of course I know this text refers to modern Babylon (whatever
that is), but it also describes perfectly what the tower attack looked
like from New York Harbor.

Verse 17 says...
for in one hour such great wealth has been laid waste!’
And every shipmaster and every passenger and sailor, and
as many as make their living by the sea, stood at a distance,

Verse 18 says...
and were crying out as they saw the smoke of her burning,
saying, ‘What city is like the great city?’
