Non-Denominational Devotional/Prayer
For some time, through FReepmail, several FReepers have provided each other with a way to share prayer requests and praises. Now that the Non-denominational category has been established at Freerepublic, we are offering a weekly thread in which posts of your requests and praises are welcome. Anyone, regardless of denomination, is welcome to bring their concerns here. The one thing that we hope to establish here, is that at a set time on Sunday evening, 11:00 p.m. in the Eastern time zone, 10:00 p.m. Central time, 9:00 p.m. Mountain time, and 8:00 p.m. Pacific time, we will as a group, lift these concerns up in prayer. Individual prayer at any time is, of course, encouraged. If anyone desires to post an "anonymous" request, just word it in a manner such as: " Please lift up my prayer (or praise) for a personal concern."
Though the occasional person has instructed us that the passage in Matthew 18 does not refer to Jesus coming into our midst when we gather in His name to pray for others, that it refers solely to the veracity He lends to witnesses, I read the passage to say He has promised to be in our midst as we gather wherever we may be, as a voice in one accord, to praise Him and ask on behalf of others for His Grace to be granted to them. The important thing is to gather in His name, not so much the weighty things we bring along with us so that we may ask for others.
This thread is for personal prayer requests offered when we gather in His name at 11PM Eastern every Sunday evening. And now a word of praise referring to a prayer request from last Sunday:
Thank you and thanks to all the praying FReepers. It turned out to be a stress fracture of the rib, caused by a bad cough he had over the last few weeks.
The Doc says it will heal itself. We re grateful thats all it was, and not some serious illness. Praise God!

Ker ping
Thanks for the ping.
I’ll do my part very soon.
G’night, all!
You are already. Glad we got this up before you retired. Thanks for the bump to the top.
I’m glad you did, too! I often feel like I’ve really missed something when I see the ping on Monday mornings, so this is excellent!
Thanks again!
Prayers!
Isaiah 13:4, 5.
Listen, a noise on the mountains, like that of a great multitude. Listen, an uproar among the kingdoms, like nations massing together! The Lord Almighty is mustering an army for war.
Joining you in a few hours.
Hello - am here for 11 pm duty.
Thanks for the PINGy...
Present and accounted for! Thanks for the ping!
what a great idea.
I ask for prayer for God to have His way in our election. Give us the president YOU wish for Lord, not the one we deserve.
Praise His Holy Name and His Mighty Presence.
Thanks for the ping MHG. I’m retiring to my sanctuary for intense prayer for this nation. Keep heart my fellows, for God is with us.
OK, this is great.
I know someone who needs prayers tonight. My ex-husband has been in the hospital with diverticulitis. Tonight he has a ruptured intestine. He is in great pain and is facing surgery with a colostomy as soon as they can throw him on the operating table. It is apparently very serious—the contamination of the peritoneal cavity could be fatal.
Please pray for him to be spared. The kids and I don’t want to lose him.
For more than a decade the spiritual health of America has been declining at an alarmingly accelerated rate. We The People ceased to require moral character in our leaders. Immorality is rising at an alarming rate, as if acceptable at the fringes of our communities. These are symptoms of spiritual sickness.
Spiritual sickness can kill a nation. If we the people who are called by His name will humble ourselves and pray for His revival of our families and communities, He has promised to hear our prayers and heal our land.
We cannot raise our children in peace while unborn children of Americans are slaughtered at a rate of more than a million each year. We cannot expect our children to grow into adulthood as healthy individuals valuing family if inundated daily with drugs and pornography we the people tolerate. We cannot expect our children to go the way that they should go when they become adults if we do not raise them in the way that they should go. Jesus is The Way, The Truth, and The Life.
John McCain's greatest weakness, according to many negative voices at FreeRepublic.com, is his failure to react crushingly to the lies and mischaracterizations and dangerously anti-American associates with whom Barack Obama has chosen to align himself in life. What we seem to want is for Obama's real character, of a man who is in fact a bad man, to be reveal so the people can reject him for what he really is, rather than embrace the fabricated image his handlers have presented to We The People with the eager deceit from the media.
Let us pray tonight that The Lord will cause Barack Obama's real character to be revealed in the coming debate with John McCain, and be accentuated during the remaining days until the election. There is probably no vile practice the Obama campaign will not use to win the election, including planting operatives at McCain/Palin rallies to exploit racial hatred. Such evil needs God's PSirit to be revealed. But once the deceit is exposed, we the people must reject the man and his minions as unfit to lead, rather than rising to the invitation to hate. Hate is a satanic strategy, a satanic goal.
Our nation will be far more healthy for rejecting a man who worked hard to protect infanticide. We can pray that the hearts of the people will awaken to embrace the precious life of the little ones alive and unborn among us. We can pray that The Lord will strip away the veil of lies and deceit so carefully built to hide this bad man, Barack Obama, who seeks to be the leader of the Free World.
Heading for the prayer room.
Prayers will be rising shortly for your husband. God knows where every bacteria in the body is located. We will ask that His Spirit guide the surgeons to get rid of every threat to your husband’s life.
Amen.
Amen.
God bless all on this thread. I join in all the requests tonight, united in prayer.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen
One of our best friends died Saturday. It was sudden but he had had a heart transplant a few years back and was sick on and off since then. Please pray for his wife and family. This is the second husband she’s lost to death, one in a car accident. May God be glorified.
I cousin of mine just recieved news that there is a kidney for him and he is now on his way to get his transplant.
We are so thankful!
Thanks be to God! Even the technology develops because of His blessing us.
