Familiar with the saying that goes "If you live long enough, you will see just about everything."

Case in point. Roseanne Barr, the formerly corpulent, currently crude, and laughingly dim comedienne and bona fide anti-Catholic, has an idea for saving the world.

Actually, all this proves is that there is one thing that Roseanne hates more than the "Vatican" and that is Israel. (Yes, I know that Roseanne was born to a Jewish family.)

But perhaps she is on to something. I am quite sure that after giving control of the holy land to the Church and Israel ceding back all the territory it held after being attacked, the crazy Islamists who run Iran will take all that nuclear material to the drop-off box at the U.N. signed "We don't need this anymore, Love Ahmed."

Then after peace breaks out, we can turn our efforts back to the important things. Like forcing gay marriage on a resistant public and throwing off the shackles of the torturers who force religion on children.

As soon as a person leaves his/her religion, he/she finds peace and wonder and justice and logic and the world makes complete sense for once! It is hard to leave after all the psychological abuse and terror that is done to a child in order to make that child into a "believer". A "believer" is one who gives up the right to use his/her thought processes for anything other than ways to regurgitate the downloaded sanctioned programming done to him/her by an elitist and parasitical priest class that lives in socialist luxury and contributes nothing.

The lady, and I uses that term loosely, is as schizophrenic as she is senseless. Laura Ingraham wrote a book entitled "Shut up and Sing!" The point was to ask artists to keep their nonsensical opinions to themselves and just do what they are good at.

So to Roseanne Barr, I say just shut and ... and ... well anyway. Just shut up.

The Vatican would be interested in being in administrative control of specific sites like the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. It's falling into disrepair because control is shared between six or seven different churches and they cannot agree on basic maintenance issues.

The government of Israel wisely declines to allow one community to administrate such sites in order to avoid the resentment of all the others.

Ummm, the idea is actually an old one...

That a sort of “Confederation of the Holy Lands” would exist, with a Jewish state of Israel, a Christian state primarily of Lebanon, and a Mohammedan state of Palestine all three co-extant with a capital at Jerusalem... with a prime minister the head of government chosen by a College of Electors, and the head of state being the Roman Catholic Pope...

The idea being that such a tri-partite state would provide a check-and-balance system akin constitutionally that would cause all three to propser only jointly, not separately.

Jerusalem as an adjunct to the Vatican is an interesting modification of that.
