Pray for the Supreme Court Today
Free Republic | 1/9/09 | Kevmo

Please pray that God will grant wisdom to the 9 members of the Supreme Court.

Today the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) considers whether or not to hear arguments in a constitutional issue of monumental importance. It is the case of Berg v Obama, where the eligibility of President Elect Obama is called into question.

This case is unique in that it has been scheduled for 2 conferences. There are other cases as well, such as Keyes v Lingle, Broe v Reed, et al. A current listing of eligibility lawsuits can be found here. http://www.therightsideoflife.com/?page_id=1518

So this is the week of significance, before Obama would be sworn in by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. Please pray that God will grant wisdom to the 9 members of the Supreme Court.

A good time to do that is for a few seconds at lunch time each day from January 9 to January 20. Just a few seconds. Or maybe just once... today.

If you feel the need to express a tiny bit more activism, try the "Prayer, Pebble, Postage" approach. Carry around a small pebble in your pocket, and whenever you touch it, pray for God to grant wisdom to the SCOTUS members. If you feel the need to send the pebble, letting them know you've been praying for them and any comments, here is the address of the SCOTUS.

“Berg v Obama, where the eligibility of President Elect Obama is called into question”

Now that our congress sheeple have determined that he’s bona fide, the question should be `ripe’.

Would it be safe to say that if the outcome is not as you would have it, then God did not grant them the requisite wisdom?

As I said on another thread, we might as well give up. The SC won’t do a thing even it Obama admitted he was born in Kenya.

Meaningful suggestion. There is no better way to change things for the better than prayer followed by Biblical action.

Thank you for the article.

Actually, when I clicked on your user page, I realize that what I set up here is a PRAYER thread rather than a caucus thread. Can you please consider this to be a prayer thread moving forward? Note already that FReepers are trying to tug at the debate thing. They can open some other thread themselves if they want debate.

Prayer threads are closed to debate of any kind.
Devotional threads are closed to debate of any kind.

Caucus threads are closed to any poster who is not a member of the caucus.

For instance, if it says “Catholic Caucus” and you are not Catholic, do not post to the thread. However, if the poster of the caucus invites you, I will not boot you from the thread.
The “caucus” article and posts must not compare beliefs or speak in behalf of a belief outside the caucus.

I’ll never give up on prayer. But sometimes I have to accept that my desire is not God’s will.

if they hear the case... that would be a major step forward. ALL other courts have dismissed all other cases without being heard. why? because if the case is heard, the judge would have to demand the BC in order to rule on it. at that point, the cat would be out of the bag and the game would be over.

if they do not even hear the case, i would sure like to know their reasoning over something so freaking trivial.

this whole issue should send up red flags for the future. if they have the fix in for something so trivial as a birth certificate, just imagine how tough it'll be to hold them accountable on real issues.

Also pray for our safety and for our police and firefighters should the SCOTUS decide Obama is ineligible. The Rodney King riots will look like table tennis compared to what will be wrought upon America. Which is exactly why the ruling will never go that way regardless.

I have always considered Chief Justice Roberts, and Justices Scalia, Thomas, and Alito to be very wise individuals. I’d hate to think The Lord God Almighty is taking a tally of people here on Earth on a decision of whether to grant them additional wisdom they may not already possess.

We have a conservative reporter now with Joe the Plumber. Maybe we could get him to talk about the Birth Certificate issue.. I doubt he would be afraid to bring it up.
I can’t find his email address.

In the spirit of “You do not have because you do not ask,” wouldn’t a better-targeted prayer be, “Lord, cause them to want to know your will, and the grace to receive and use it when revealed”?

***My targeted prayers have been focusing on their lack of courage. On January 20th I may have to start praying for the comfort to the souls who are grieving for the loss of our constitutional republic. I wonder if there will be any SCOTUS justices among them? “When the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?” (Luke 18.8)

One of the scarier prayers I’ve seen lately. I wonder how Abraham felt when he was told to slay Isaac. He had to have enough faith to know that his son would return if that were God’s will. And I wonder how Dred Scott felt when the SCOTUS at the time was faithless, but his position had some Lazarus juice still left in it. Our faith is not in men.

I always pray that God will put his holy armour around us so that we will be protected in our mission to spead his Word to all the earth. If you take a serious look at Christianity I think you find that America is walking the point on spreading God’s word. In my opinion there is not a more faithful soldier in the Lord’s army than my wife. She has spent several years in service to our Lord as a missionary in the darkest parts of Mexico and at Indian reservations in our own land. She has sacrificed more than most can ever imagine. In fact her sacrifice goes beyond the exotic notion of serving our Lord abroad and in the sometimes forgotten parts of our country like some invision a romantic fairy tale. It wasn’t a one time thing that lasted about 10 years for her and now she can sit back and rest on her past - Although sometimes I wish that were true for my own selfish purposes. Her service continues every day of the week in childrens church, hosting church events, tending to grieving neighbors and making sure our kids are aware we are Christians and have a duty to live Gods word as it is written, all while holding a full time job. I am blessed far more than I deserve.

I was raised in a small town in a state that use to be conservative and focused on the family. I was brought up in the church thanks to my parents and I believe God’s word is what guides everything that happens. My Mom has traced our family back in this country to before the Revolutionary War and what is significant is that I have relatives that fought in every American conflict in our history. I guess it only stands to reason that I have a vested interest in matters that involve our country.

I have worked in the security community both Fed and local for several years. In the last few months I have noticed a shift in attitude of the general public. Something just ain’t right and that something just keeps getting a little worse each day. I’ve been kicked, punched, spit at, cussed at and dissed in any other way possible but what is going on lately just seems down right scary. What makes matters even worse is that my wife sees it also. She has always been the positive one when I have railed about how things are so screwed up. However, lately she has agreed with me on my constant rants which makes me even more concerned about our current situation.

Last night before I went to work she hugged me as usual. She does that to make sure I’m wearing my vest because one night I got dressed and forgot to put it on and she was the one that noticed. It takes me an hour to get to work and I always pray for a safe night not only for myself but for my family also. I came home this morning and thanked God for making it through the night and for the weekend and a few days off.

My wife and I pray every day for our country. Our specific prayer is that God will continue his grace on us as a country so we can continue as a Christian nation. However, we realize that God is in control and we pray for His will to be done. Although we may not always agree with the outcome, we know His will is done on earth as it is in heaven.

No matter what happens - Powder is dry and we are locked and loaded.

Your wife sounds like some of the people I’ve worked with at PBC. Faithful followers of Christ. A great reward awaits them.

As far as the change in societal attitude, I notice it as well. The bible says there will be increasing lawlessness in the end times. One phrase in particular that strikes me is the “men’s love will grow cold.” I see that.

I don’t know what else to do other than to pray. Noah loaded up his family in a safe environment from the world and when the waves of evil descended upon them, he was ready and he had protected them from that evil. We build the arks of our families and protect them with the Word, not knowing if that final flood is today or a hundred years from today. I wonder if Noah went through a grieving period over knowing that everyone was going to get wiped out, that the world as he knew it was doomed to fail? I know that Abraham did grieve in that way, asking God to find even one faithful soul in Soddhom & Gomorrah. I’ll bet he was very sad with the answer God gave him.

Just for information. Posted on Phil’s site obamacrimes.com:

01/09/2009: PRESS RELEASE - Berg states U.S. Supreme Court has “not” made a public decision regarding Berg vs. Obama U.S. Supreme Court Case

(Contact information and PDF at end)

(Lafayette Hill, PA – 01/09/09) - Philip J. Berg, Esquire, the Attorney who filed suit against Barack H. Obama challenging Senator Obama’s lack of “qualifications” to serve as President of the United States and his case, Berg vs. Obama, [is in the U.S. Supreme Court with two (2) Conferences scheduled on 1/09/09 & 1/16/09] announced today that the U.S. Supreme Court has “not” made a public decision yet regarding his case.

Berg said, “I am making these remarks because of the ‘wrong’ statements circulating that the case of Berg vs. Obama in the U.S. Supreme Court has been dismissed. We checked with the U.S. Supreme Court on Friday afternoon, January 9th and “no” decision has been made. We will have to wait until at least Monday for the decision regarding what took place at the Conference on January 9th.

Please wait with us. Hopefully, the U.S. Supreme Court will grant our Writ of Certiorari as there is nothing more important than “our” U.S. Constitution.”

Berg continued, “We are committed to continuing litigation until the truth of Obama being “not qualified” for President comes out. The Obama candidacy is the biggest “HOAX” every put forth to the citizens of the United States in 230 years.

In addition to the current case in the U.S. Supreme Court, we have or will have:

1. A case filed two [2] months ago captioned Berg vs. Obama, said case “under seal” so I cannot comment further;

2. The case of Hollister vs. Barry Soetoro a/k/a Barack Hussein Obama, filed last week in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia; said case being an Interpleader case with the Plaintiff a retired Colonel from the U.S. Air Force who is questioning whether to obey or disobey an order if Obama recalls him, based upon whether or not Obama is a “qualified” President; and

3. If Obama is sworn in as President, we will file a Petition for Writ of “Quo Warranto,” a case that will challenge Obama as being ineligible to serve as President because he is “not qualified.”

More and more people are aware of the fact that Obama does not meet the ‘qualifications.’ When the truth finally comes out, individuals including Barack Hussein Obama, Michelle Obama, Howard Dean [Chair of the Democratic National Committee (DNC)], other top officials of the DNC and senior campaign staff of Obama’s campaign should be brought into the criminal justice system, indicted and tried with incarceration for those convicted.”

Thanks for the post. I see that Berg uses apostrophes a lot in his writing. I wonder if he understands that when you “use” apostrophes the way he does, it can mean the opposite of what he “means”?

Anyways, this is a prayer thread, so I’ll pray for Berg. I’m grateful he went to the trouble of bringing this case.
