His “success” means America becomes collectivized, worshippers of graven images of the One, morally indifferent to the unborn, hostile to free speech and free open practice of religion, believers in appeasement as our basic tenet of diplomacy, and socialist or worse.
My prayer has been and will continue to be that Obama would turn to God, choose righteousness and to abide by the Constitution. If he doesn’t, he will be a failure anyway, it’s that simple. It may appear to the left that he is succeeding (socialism, abortion on demand, gays in military, high taxes, gay marriage), but America will fail.
If anything, pray for him to "succeed". To get his radical, idiotic, socialist agenda rammed through. The shock of it may finally wake people up to what they are doing.
This is one of those things that gives Conservatives a bad name, folks.

Sorry, I can’t do that, and I don’t understand how anyone can be that craven.
I wish him well because he’s my President, and its my country he’s leading for the next 48 months.
I don’t agree with the man on any given political topic. I think he’s a lightweight Chicago hack without a single significant accomplishment beyond winning an election over a man - John McCain - that was a pathetic nominee by the Republican Party.
But pray for him to FAIL?

I will pray for Obama to convert to Christianity (he is currently a secular humanist posing as a Unitarian but claiming to be a Christian with a “healthy skepticism of organized religion”) and see the error of his policies on abortion and socialism. I don’t pray for his failure, I pray for his conversion. I pray for America’s protection, that we are saved by God’s grace from the nation “we deserve” for voting for the liberal Marxist.
Forget the pray for failure stuff, I want this lying bastard to fail on his own!

I want him to fail in advancing the Leftist agenda. I don’t want the economy to fail. I don’t want our nation to see harm. I don’t want to see him harmed. I pray for his good health and bad poll numbers.
Paul puts absolutely no qualifications on his admonition to pray for all in authority, including rulers: "I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour" (I Timothy 2:1-3).
Sorry, but I don't see any back door or escape clause there. Certainly the rulers and kings of Paul's day were vastly worse than anyone we ever have had, or now have, in authority here. Paul says a great deal about how you should pray for such people, but it is all positive, in terms of praying for their wisdom, revelation of the Lord, and so on.
He says in Romans 13:1 "Let every soul be sugmect to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. (2) Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, . . . ." and so on.
Folks, I really wish that wasn't in there. But I'm not going to deny that it is, or willfully disobey it because I don't happen to like the "authority."

When you say, “fail”, what exactly do you mean.
If you mean fail at promoting his socialist agenda, then by all means, I say yes.
But I certainly don’t want him to fail when it comes to protecting this country.

Nope, no prayers for him in any way. I just pray to God to protect my family and country from madmen, and if God deems that Obama is one, then he’ll take care of it (or inspire us to take care of it).

Would your prayers not be better sent out to the people that need to wake up? You know, maybe that they would see the world more as you would like? As in, prayer for a positive outcome?
Would your prayers not be better snet out to Obama himself, that he may see the world more as you like? As in, prayer for a positive outcome.
Instead, you pray to your God for something negative. Failure. (and yes I did read the article, and yes, I know that Farah just wants the policies to fail).
From my earthly perspective, pretty agnostic at that, I see God scratching his head, thinking that this is not quite what he intended prayer for. JMO.
Since Obama wants (or should I say “hopes”? :) to accomplish things that are bad for my nation, of course I want him to fail. Thus when I pray for God to protect my country, I am by definition praying for Obama’s failure.
I’m for America succeeding, regardless of who is in the White House.
BUT... no way do I want the marxist-leninist occupying it after today to have one iota of success, because “success” to him means socialism on the Euro model at best and the Soviet one at worst.
I pray that he will not be successful in implementing his ungodly and unconstitutional idiology. I pray he makes wise decisions and that our nation is kept safe. If he is judged to be successfull, but his anti-life, anti-constitution, anti-economy, anti-military don’t get implemented, then so be it.
Pray that he hears the gospel.
Anything less is failure in my book.

I sometimes pray for his confession, repentance, contrition, resignation.
I certainly pray that he fall in the pit he has dug; that he and all those putting him in power receive in their bosom and networks the evils they have scheduled to foist on our Nation 10 and 100 fold ASAP.
I pray that all their schemes fall to the ground impotent.
I pray that OThuga humiliates himself horrifically.

There is a big difference in Christians saying, "I don't like what scripture says and I intend to sin because I disagree," and another thing to fool yourself into thinking sin isn't sin.

Have you considered that he was elected in order to help fulfill the prophesy in the Book of Revelation. There's going to be a war between the Muslims and Israel, and the US is not going to be a player. Maybe he was put in place to sideline us.
If, in fact, it is the end times you'd better be praying for your soul and your loved ones. I suspect that Obama may have already sold his soul to the Devil and be beyond redemption.
