Excessive confiscatory taxes, much more stringent regulations and big government spending will always fail at revitalizing economies. You don’t need to pray, Obama is quite assured to fail all by himself. If Government spending was the way to prosperity, the USSR would still be around and I would be on a boat bound for Leningrad...

Ditto! I would like to add, that the very same God who converted Saul has not lost His touch. God can give Obama a new name, just like He did me.

Single issue types run into that problem all the time.

Good luck with that.

OK, how's this for balance. First, I wish no ill to befall the Obama family personally. I see nothing moral about wishing any personal tragedy upon Obama and his family.

After that, I hope he sees the error of his ways and repents, especially of his support for the wanton slaughter of the unborn. If he does that, then I personally will take a different view of him. We can then work to convince him to adopt reasonably conservative positions on other issues.

Lacking that, as to his stated agenda and if he pursues it, I hope he fails politically. Fails miserably. I hope nothing he proposes or enacts that aligns with his stated agenda succeeds. Yes, that failure may cause damage to the country. But that damage will be less than if his stated agenda succeeds.

The third alternative may seem harsh, but we as a country are at a point of no return. If we pursue the path Obomba has charted, we may go the route of other tyrannies and failed collectivist societies. Like the Bolshevik Revolution and the ascension and subsequent failure of the USSR, we may suffer through nearly a century of misery only to have the whole rotten edifice collapse and force us to start fresh. If so, better to minimize the suffering and shorten the dark ages.

Well said,

The 109th psalm comes to mind when praying for leaders that oppress and rule unjustly.

How can he sees the error of his ways and repents, unless his own policies and their results be brought direct into his own life?

I'm not happy about ill befalling another person, or family, but let's remember how education is done. Nothing is more educational than a significant emotional event. And nothing drives us closer to God than the same.

Now let's get started:

We must pray that every policy, law, and executivce order that Mister Obama puts forth, be brought into his family, for the edification of others, as well as Obama.

Do I make my point clear?

I'm not comfortable myself with imprecatory prayer. It's a lot like handling a live grenade. Others can do it if they wish, but personally I don't think that I want to do it, at least right now in this instance.

It's partly personal experience. I went through the usual college-age experiences with humanism and atheism and was persuaded with logic and reasoning to turn away from those. Same on the abortion issue. No ill befell me. It was simply a sincere change of heart. Maybe Obama will have a similar experience.

Maybe ... but not likely.

Oh, there is a lot more then this single issue, tons. If this was the only issue it would be enough. If you don’t think so you need to check in with your conscience. It is not luck you need but help from The LORD so that you can discern what is truly important in this life. May The LORD, by His grace, help you.

I plan on giving Obama as much respect as was given to George Bush. Which was none.
