Divinity is a Divine attribute in which we may share as we were created in the image and likeness of God. Divinity is NOT the essence of God or a part of it. And you are of course correct that humanity may not partake of the Divine Essence which is shared only in the union of The Trinity AND in the union of God and man in Christ. As for LDS “theology”, I honestly don’t know enough about it to comment. It has thus far not struck me as even remotely Christian let alone Patristic.

It was litte more complicated than that. :)
In the sense that we can never be eternal (i.e. without having a beginning) true, since we are created; but we do partake or share in the Divine essence in the sense of being with the Trinity having been invited to "partake" or "share" in his Divine life through baptism...
