Great news! Also note that Vietnam formally recognized Southern Baptists and Mennonites last year.

All this is a result of the steady pressure of the United States and Viet Nam’s desire to be this country’s best friend in Asia and a protectorate of the United States as to China. The normalization with Viet Nam seems to be the only useful thing Clinton did voluntarily in his 8 years. I just hope the current president doesn’t convince Ha Noi that a good relationship with Washington is dangerous to Viet Nam’s national health.
