Millard Fuller, who at 29 walked away from his life as a successful businessman to devote himself to the poor, eventually starting Habitat for Humanity International, which spread what he called “the theology of the hammer” by building more than 300,000 homes worldwide, died Tuesday near Americus, Ga. He was 74.
His brother, Doyle, said Mr. Fuller became ill with a severe headache and chest pains and was taken to a hospital in Americus, his hometown. He died in an ambulance on the way to a larger hospital in Albany, Ga. Doyle Fuller said the cause had not been determined, but may have been an aneurysm.
Propelled by his strong Christian principles, Millard Fuller used Habitat to develop a system of using donated money and material, and voluntary labor, to build homes for low-income families. The homes are sold without profit and buyers pay no interest. Buyers are required to help build their houses, contributing what Mr. Fuller called sweat equity.

Just as Al Gore invented the Internet, a lot of people apparently think Jimmy founded HFH.
No wonder Jimmy Carter was such a big part of that charity; Americus, Georgia is a stone's throw from Plains, Georgia.
Straight to the Pearly Gates, Full Speed Ahead!
“Well done My good and faithful servant!”
RIP.
I thought he did. I thought was because he went mental at Nixon’s funeral and had to find a way to gain some stature after he saw all the other living presidents lavishing praise on Nixon. The other Leech is RFK Jr. He wants people to think he started the Hudson River Project. The truth is, he was working for them as part of his probation on a Herion charge. While doing so he used Kennedy money to muscle out the fishermen who really started it. This is called Racketeering.
Met him one time, a very nice man and dedicated servant. RIP.
Thanks for info. That does explain a few things.

Rest in peace, Mr. Fuller.
It’s just awful that Carter has dedicated so much work and publicity to HFH. I wish he’d quit that. /s
Gee, you’da thunk Jimmah Cahtah had invented Habitat for Humanity...a/k/a, Slums for Savages.
I went to that site; it’s a “New World Order,” New Age religion page.
The subject is not shown as a member, but an associate but I get an non-authorized response when trying to seek that subset.
How did you get the pic?

Who knew? I thought Jimmy Carter invented H4H.
Thx; looking at those pictures it is obvious that the man was a lifelong endomorph, rail-thin and wiry, tall and gangly, but in the picture you chose (obviously more recent than others), it would seem that he may have been troubled by liver failure judging by the protuding abdomen.
His rather sudden death has all the signs of an aneurysm, possilbly aortic.
I haven’t made up my mind whether sustainable dependency is a workable social model for the nation.
That’s a protruding abdomen?
You do know that he developed his philosophy while living on a Communist commune, and was fired from Habitat for inappropriate conduct? http://www.christianitytoday.com/ct/2005/februaryweb-only/12.0a.html
Hmmmmm......
Nope, knew nothing about him.
Just thought it is a very worthwhile endevour.
He made Jimmy Carter look like a conservative.
