Msgr. Moises Andrade loved the Traditional Latin Mass. Even the Philippines' most-watched evening news show, in reporting his passing, mentioned that he was an expert in the "Latin Mass" and opined that his death was a great loss for the Catholic Church in the Philippines. (The fact that his death was reported on national television was a testament to his stature.)
How fitting, then, that a Requiem Mass according to the 1962 Missal had been scheduled for the evening of February 23, in the National Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima, the parish that he had last served. Except that, at the last moment, the clerics now in charge of the Shrine and the funeral of the Monsignor decreed otherwise. The TLM is no longer welcome in the very Shrine -- dedicated to Our Lady of Fatima! -- where the late Monsignor had given it refuge. It is not even welcome at his own funeral.
The enemies of the Traditional Latin Mass will not stop even at the grave.
To all priests who read this: of your charity, please remember Msgr. Moises Andrade in your prayers and Masses. And if you could, please offer a Requiem Mass for him according to the Gregorian Rite.

It’s happening here at home, also. The Bishop of Wilmington, DE (the one who won’t use The Eucharist as a “political tool” - his words to bring Biden into compliance with Church teaching)has decided that once a month in a decreppit old church is good enough, take it or leave it.
People need to understand that the changes and methods we are seeing in our political system have been very well road tested within the Catholic Church since Vatican II.
Is that Holy Cross down in Dover? St. Patrick’s up in Wilmington has it every Sunday.
I was told that St. Patrick’s has it once a month - from the diocese.
It used to be twice-a-month, but I think it’s every Sunday now, unless Fr. Balducelli, due to his age, had to bow out recently (he’s in his 90s). I’m a native of Wilmington and I sometimes go to St. Patrick’s when I’m back visiting family.
That's a good point.
This is very sad. I read about something similar in the States recently. The Spirit of Vatican II crowd is vicious, out for blood - and in power, unfortunately.

Indeed so, and always have been. I recognised that fact as a child, when observing the first generation of SoVII freaks. As much as I often find "traditionalists" annoying ... I'd rather deal with them any day.
It’s true that traditionalists can be annoying. Some of them seem to regard 1951 as the Golden Age and even insist on dressing as if they were in 1951; others are so nit-picking that they can turn a Mass into a hunt for tiny errors (was the priest’s maniple REALLY in the right place on his arm?). However, I think a lot of this comes from having been on the defensive for so many years, and I think that as the traditionalist influence grows and more people start going to the old mass - which will happen, whether the VatII fanatics like it or not - you’ll see a moderating trend.
That’s scandalous.

Very petty. Not sure if it contravenes Summorum Pontificum, but the Ecclesia Dei Commission might be consulted.
