President Barack Obama told Irans people and leaders that the United States wants to engage with their country and end decades of strained relationship, but not unless their officials stop making threats, reports the Associated Press. Obama on Friday released a video message with Farsi subtitles that urged the two countries to resolve their long-standing differences. His video was timed to the festival of Nowruz (no-ROOZ), which means new day. It marks the arrival of spring and is a major holiday in Iran.
Excerpts:
So in this season of new beginnings I would like to speak clearly to Irans leaders. We have serious differences that have grown over time. My administration is now committed to diplomacy that addresses the full range of issues before us, and to pursuing constructive ties among the United States, Iran and the international community
..We will extend a hand if you are willing to unclench your fist
.
You, too, have a choice. The United States wants the Islamic Republic of Iran to take its rightful place in the community of nations. You have that right, but it comes with real responsibilities, and that place cannot be reached through terror or arms, but rather through peaceful actions that demonstrate the true greatness of the Iranian people and civilization
.
For nearly three decades relations between our nations have been strained. But at this holiday we are reminded of the common humanity that binds us together.
What the President and his senior advisors are missing and what I explain in detail in the new book is that the leaders of Iran have already made their choice. They believe the end of the world is at hand, that the Islamic Messiahs arrival is imminent, and that the way to hasten the coming of the Mahdi or the Twelfth Imam is to annihilate Israel and the United States and destroy Judeo-Christian civilization as we know it. They fear the fires of hell if they disobey what they believe Allah has told them to do. The sooner Washington understands that, the sooner they can begin coming to grips with the fact that the regime in Tehran today is far more dangerous than the one we faced thirty years ago this spring when the Ayatollah Khomeini rose to power and we severed all diplomatic ties.

Well, Obama does have a lot of practice ignoring bizarre theology from insane religious leaders.
We are living our comfortable lives on borrowed time.
Damned straight.
Does he think the Iranians are not going to want to kill us anymore because he made nicey nice with them.
He's a fool and he may get us all killed.
Exactly! He knows Israel’s going to bomb the tarnation out of them. Israel’s not ignorant of their religious ideology.
Then he can say, “I tried to be nice!”
Obama: Oh, well never mind then.
Sunni or Shiite?
IT looks pretty much Shiite now!
Thanks, FRiend.
I feel safer already. I must be becoming a liberal.
I'm going to buy Rosenberg's new book, Inside the Revolution, on Saturday. I do so hope that I am not disappointed. I hope he makes it clear that it's not just Shi'ite Muslims who are expecting the Mahdi. But it would probably be too much to expect him to explain in detail why those Muslims are so convinced.

Zero is starting to look and act like a candidate for Mr 666
I am reading a book called "Gods War on Terror" by Walid Shoebat. He explains that the war against Israel with Persia, the Gog and Magog war, is not Russia. He explains that it is the Islamic nations(Kurdistan, Uzbekistan, etc.) that used to be part of the Soviet Union that will go to battle against Israel, not Russia. The whole battle will be an Islamic confederation of nations going against Israel. It is a very compelling interpretation of the prophecies.
Make that, "the agent of the end of history".
What a transcendent figure--
--predicted in the thesis-antithesis-synthesis model.
Good enough stuff for the Chicago or Harlem street or the Harvard classroom.
Good enough for the ten thousand shrieking fairies of the fawning media.
While he wallows in hubris the centrifuges spin.
When the Islamist nuclear device explodes in an American city, the Twelfth Imam from Kenya will feel it in his approval numbers.
Not to quibble, but the Twelfth Imam cannot be from Kenya; because, for Shi'ites, he was already born 1,139 years ago in Iran.
I would guess that Obama is a Sunni Muslim, being that he is a Kenyan of Arabian descent, and current citizen of Indonesia, where most Muslims are Sunni.
So if Obama does imagine himself to be the Mahdi, then he probably thinks of himself as the Sunni version of the Mahdi -- who is most definitely not the hidden Twelfth Imam from 9th century Iran.
In this vein of speculation, when Obama says in his Nowruz address:
I would like to speak clearly to Irans leaders. We have serious differences that have grown over time.
he may be referring to the Shi'ites rejection of the Caliphate.
It’s a shame the truth can’t be spoken, but removed.
[Bye bye baby milk factory....]
Lol, that brings to mind an aspirin factory or a camel’s butt for some reason!

Huckster alert.
I bet Mr. Obama didn't know he was being elected the pope of dispensationalism.
At the moment, I'm reading Joel Rosenberg's Epicenter 2.0. From what I've read so far, I think Epicenter 2.0 makes a reasonably comprehensive and detailed case for the author's point of view and supports my own previous reading and research.
With no way to know for certain whether or not we are living through the events foretold in Ezekiel, I grow ever more certain that there is a plan and that God is running the show. I say this as someone who didn't grow up in a religious family and have had to form my own opinions rather than growing up in a Church.
Here are some of the reviews:

It has opened my eyes and provided contemporary wisdom that has me looking at current events with a slight smugness. Unlike you, I did grow up in a religious family which was built on faith, but it was always very hard to understand a lot of the biblical scriptures. For me, this book has been like a shade pulled up in a dark room and the light has flooded in and, yes, I can see! I hope you enjoy it.
