James Dobson Says the Culture War Has Been Lost!
Liveprayer.com ^ | 4-17-09 | Bill Keller

Posted on 04/18/2009 5:48:29 AM PDT by truthandlife

James Dobson claims the culture war has been lost! In a message to his staff at Focus on the Family that was never meant to be heard by the outside world, Dr. James Dobson, in his own words, stated that the culture war had been lost. After the tape of his talk was leaked to the public, he began damage control, going on Sean Hannity's program (he went on no other programs despite numerous offers by other programs to have him on) since Hannity would never challenge him, claiming the "media took him out of context." The fact is, the media is not to blame for his words, he is. While I totally disagree that the culture war has been lost, I do agree with Dr. Dobson that we are losing...primarily because of poor leadership from men like him!!!

I remember doing a Devotional back in 2004 on Rev. Sun Myung Moon, the 90-year-old founder of the Unification Cult. In the research for that Devotional, I found out that in the 80s a host of major Christian leaders including Dobson took hundreds of thousands of dollars, in some cases, millions, from Moon disguised as donations from his various pro-family and conservative groups he founded to gain mainstream credibility. All respect I had for Dr. Dobson was immediately lost as it became apparent that the "business" of Focus on the Family took precedence over the ministry of Focus on the Family.

The next evidence of this came when I was standing alone in the secular media 2 years ago, trying to expose the FACT that Mitt Romney was not a Christian as he claimed, but the member of a satanic cult. I was mystified why supposed Christian leaders like Dobson never came to my rescue. How naive. Why would he when he was in bed with the Mormons? Dobson should have dealt with Romney's candidacy in the only way a true leader could, and that was to clearly state he would never vote for or have anything to do with someone who is the member of a satanic cult but would pray for him to turn from the lies of Mormonism and to faith in the Jesus of the Bible!

However, that is not what Dr. Dobson did. He danced around the Romney question, refusing to take a stand against his candidacy. He even kept the door open to support Romney should he have won the Republican nomination. Recently he interviewed Mormon Glenn Beck and promoted Beck's book to his audience, WHILE NEVER ONCE TELLING PEOPLE BECK WAS PART OF THE SATANIC MORMON CULT!!! What would make a man of God do this? MONEY! One of the things that makes the Mormon cult so attractive is their dedication to family. They are no doubt big consumers of the family-friendly resources Focus on the Family sells.

Did you know that Focus on the Family has formed a political alliance with the Mormon cult? The alliance is called the World Congress of Families (WCOF). It is a United Nations lobbying group STARTED AND FUNDED by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS), better known as the Mormon CULT!!! FOF has actually been holding planning committee meetings on their Colorado Springs campus with officials from the WCOF, BYU and other Mormon organizations! This alliance flies in the face of clear Scriptural mandates to not form alliances with the enemies of God. Dobson refused to speak out on Romney being part of a satanic cult because his ministry is in bed with and makes money off of that satanic cult!!!

Recently, my good friend and a true warrior for Christ Steve Deace who hosts a radio program on the secular Newstalk WHO in Des Moines, Iowa, interviewed Dr. Dobson's right hand man Tom Minnery. It was a powerful interview as Deace got Minnery to share that Dobson admitted the culture war was lost and exposed the hypocrisy of Dobson and Focus on numerous other topics, revealing that Dobson is about money and power first, and the cause of Christ second. You can listen to that interview at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkYk24ofYJM

*For the record, I reached out to Dr. Dobson over 30 times in the past week to give him the opportunity to respond to all of these issues, but he did not even have the decency to respond to any of my calls.

For those who want to rip into me for simply stating the truth about Dobson, I would refer you to Matthew 23 and the words of Jesus who took to task the religious leaders of His day in a very hardcore fashion. What invoked such anger and vitriol from our Lord towards those religious leaders?

COMPROMISE! When I rip into Osteen, Warren, Jakes, Dobson, and others who have exalted themselves to positions of leadership simply by virtue they built large organizations, it is because of the COMPROMISE they have persisted in to build and perpetuate these organizations that take in tens of millions of dollars each year.

They have placed dollars ahead of the Gospel, political correctness ahead of the Truth, and their agenda ahead of God's agenda. THIS is why we have been losing the culture war. Leaders like Dobson have compromised for their own interests, creating hundreds of little fiefdoms so we have never spoken with one unified voice. Each voice had their own interests at heart over God's, and thus we remain divided, never being taken seriously, and without the strength to do much except raise tens of millions of dollars on issues we never had a plan to see victory.

Think I am wrong? Why have men like Dobson who take in $80 to $100 million annually, never go on SECULAR TV, SECULAR RADIO, to take their case to the masses in the marketplace? Simple. It was not a good business model. The lost masses don't send you donations, don't buy your books and resources, don't come to your events. They certainly don't help you build glass buildings and have staffs of 200-300 people. No, to do that you have to simply preach to the choir in the Christian trough, insuring your message never gets to the people who need it the most.

THIS IS WHY DR. DOBSON IS CORRECT, AND THE CULTURE WAR HAS NOT BEEN WON. CHRISTIAN LEADERS LIKE HIMSELF NEVER HAD VICTORY AS THEIR GOAL, ONLY BUILDING THEIR OWN KINGDOM INSTEAD OF GOD'S KINGDOM!!!

I love you and care about you so much. People can rip me for telling the truth, that is fine, I am used to taking the heat. I know those who have been seduced by Dobson and Focus for years will unsubscribe and stop donating to Liveprayer. That is OK. I am not here to please man but God. Men don't supply the needs of this ministry, God does. They literally killed Jesus for telling the Truth. I will state without hesitation that men like Dobson have squandered the supports of millions of people and hundreds of millions of dollars to build their legacy, and not God's. You don't need hundreds of millions to turn this nation back to God. Ten to twelve million a year would do the job very effectively if you are not building buildings, but truly trying to lead this nation back to God and to His Truth.

LET ME SAY THIS AS CLEAR AS I CAN. THE CULTURE WAR IS NOT LOST AND IT CAN BE WON!! I can only encourage you today. God has raised up Liveprayer for this moment in human history. God gave me the vision for the Jonah Project last July. It is in place, we are adding people daily, and now is your opportunity to take a real stand for Christ. God is calling you today, wants to use you today to help bring revival to this nation. yes, eventfully we will be judged for our sins and wickedness, but I believe we can stay God's hand of judgment just like Nineveh did.

Over 120,000 souls were saved in Nineveh because they turned to God! I believe that we can see millions repent and turn to God in the wake of this revival. You can keep living your life, taking care of yourself, or you can sacrifice your life and allow God to use you for His glory. When you come to the end of your life, it is not what you did for yourself that will matter, but what you did for God. Read that again. When you come to the end of your life, it is not what you did for yourself that will matter, but what you did for God.

Please pray today about signing up and being part of the Jonah Project, God's vehicle to lead this nation back to Himself, to His Truth, and millions to faith in Christ. Go to: www.liveprayer.com/jonah and what the 7 min. vision video, get sign up. Also, get this Devotional to everyone that you know and share the link to the Jonah Project with every person you can communicate with. This is the answer for this nation and for millions of people who are looking for answers and hope in their life. This culture war is not lost and by turning back to God and His Truth it can be won!!!

I saw him on Hannity a few nights back, he said no such thing. Context is everything. Like with global warming you can look at the part that fits your viewpoint and gin up whatever horror story you want to tell.

This man should be a pariah.

I agree with this analysis to this degree: When believers lose sight of principle and become pragmatic, they invariably fail. We all are guilty of this and it eventually brings down highly visible leaders. However, Dobson is hardly different from you or me. We’re both on FR because we’re concerned about America - this is, in fact, a secular approach to what is ultimately a spiritual problem. To the degree that we are active and pursuing a secular solution, we will be drawing finite resources from the spiritual. At times, they overlap. Knowing the difference is the difficulty . . .

Who is this paranoid person writing this mess?

“trying to expose the FACT that Mitt Romney was not a Christian as he claimed, but the member of a satanic cult”

What satanic cult is he talking about? Mormons? You might not agree with them, but saying they are a satanic cult is like those wackos in a church I went to in my teen years who tried to tell me some brands were satanic. Like Ram truck, because it had a goat on it and the Devil looked a goat. WTF?

To me, the writer loses a lot of credibility by calling Dobson a poor leader. In social/political activism leaders are not appointed or voted upon. They **emerge** by sticking their necks out to make a difference, and those who manage to go far are called “leaders” as a verbal shorthand. I would say Dobson has done well, as the size and reputation of FOTF demonstrates. That is to say, Dobson has been a strong leader. OTOH I have never heard of Bill Keller, who goes on to suggest that every successful evangelical leader is all about money. I guess you have to fail financially to prove you are sincere. Bill Keller should start his own movement where he can call the shots as he sees fit to call them. Then as a result of his capable leadership his organization will grow tremendously, to the point where we can dismiss him as being all about money. It’s a vicious circle.

This jerk, Keller, is arrogant and is doing nothing more than trying to place himself over others on a moral platform.

The political and spiritual problems we face have solutions that sometimes coincide and sometimes do not. That does not mean we abandon one for the exlusive pursuit of the other.

Keller calls it how he sees it and his guide is the Bible (the Word of God). If you didn’t like that one then this one will really challenge you.

Exposing Glenn Beck’s Deception

(Galatians 1:6-12)

Exposing Glenn Beck’s deception. For years on his syndicated radio program, on his TV program that aired on CNN Headline News that is now seen on FOX News, Glenn Beck asks people to be honest and has positioned himself as the one to hold the powerful accountable and expose their lies and deception. Perhaps there is no more deceptive person in the media today other than Oprah, than Glenn Beck. He has a large following due to his radio and TV programs that espouse his conservative political ideology. It is time to expose Glenn Beck and hold him accountable for his lies and deception.

You see, Glenn Beck is a Mormon. Now, I could care less if Beck wants to believes the fairy tales and false theology of that satanic cults murdering, pedophile, and racist found Joey Smith. Beck can believe in the tooth fairy if he wants. The problem lies in the fact that like all members of his satanic cult, Beck promotes himself as and calls himself a Christian. The fact is Mormon doctrine is totally inconsistent with Biblical Christianity and a Mormon is no more a Christian than a Muslim is! The Mormon cult spends tens of millions each year in public relations to deceive people and portray themselves as “just another Christian church,” when they are no more a Christian church than your local mosque is!

Without getting too deep into Smith’s warped and fantastic theology that has ZERO BASIS in fact, the problem lies with the Mormon cult’s deception in using the words God, Jesus, and the Bible. The bottom line to Mormonism and why it is a cult can be boiled down to one core issue, the jesus of the Mormons is NOT a deity! When a Mormon speaks of Jesus, they are NOT speaking about the Jesus in the Bible, the Savior of the world! The jesus of Mormon theology is NOT God incarnate as the Bible teaches!

The Mormon jesus was not supernaturally conceived by the Holy Ghost, but the natural offspring of their “god” Elohim who had sex with Mary, meaning he is a created being no different than you and I. Mormons also teach that their jesus had several wives and children, in compete contradiction to what the Bible teaches. The jesus of Beck and the Mormon cult is also the brother of Lucifer and will return not to the Mt. Of Olives as the Bible teaches, but to Independence, Missouri to set up his earthly Kingdom.

Likewise, when a Mormon speaks of God, they are NOT speaking about the God of the Bible!!! Their “god” is named Elohim and was once a man like you and I who came from another planet. Mormon Doctrine states that their god was once a human man, and “He is now a glorified, resurrected personage having a tangible body of flesh and bones.” As a matter of fact, “all gods first existed as spirits, came to an earth to receive bodies, and then, after having passed through a period of probation on the aforesaid earth, were advanced to the exalted position they now enjoy.” Mormon theology teaches that men can eventually become a god and have their own planet.

What about the Bible and true Christian churches? Mormons love to use the Bible and quote from the Bible to support their deception that they are Christians. The trademark of all cults and false religions, even those who use the Bible, is that it is NOT their final authority. In the Mormon cult, their authority does not come from the Bible which they view as incomplete and not reliable, but the writings of Smith, the Book of Mormon, the Pearl of Great Price, and the Doctrine and Covenants. These are the writings that form the false theology of this cult.

Beck and all Mormons believe that non-Mormons are “abominations.” While they don’t have the guts the Muslims do to publicly call a non-Muslim an infidel who should be put to death, a Mormon views a Biblical Christian as part of a “false religion” and void of all authority. Glenn Beck believes a Bible-believing Christian, the very people he is courting so hard through his conservative political ideology, are an abomination!

Why is this important??? BECAUSE THE ETERNAL SOULS OF MEN ARE AT STAKE!!! Paul had to deal with the issue of “cults,” those who perverted the Gospel, almost from the very beginning of the church. He spoke of it often in his writings, as in today’s anchor verses in his letter to the church at Galatia. What Jesus you put your faith in is so critical, since anyone who puts their faith in the imaginary faux jesus of Joseph Smith and the satanic Mormon cult instead of the Jesus of the Bible, will die in their sins and their souls burn forever in the flames of hell.

That is why it is appalling that those on the FOX News channel who love to tout their Christianity, people like Fox and Friends host Gretchen Carlson who often talks about her grandfather being a pastor, and many others who make sure people know they are a Christian, let Beck sit there and talk about “his faith,” “God,” Jesus,” and claim that “he is a Christian,” in complete silence. Bill O’Reilly loves to brag about “looking out for the folks,” yet he allows Beck to spew his deception without ever once challenging him on the FACT that he is part of a cult that has nothing to do with Christianity!

Former pastor and Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee is sadly more concerned with his TV show on FOX News and running for President in 2012 than the eternal souls of those Beck deceives with his lies about being a Christian. However, it is difficult to be too hard on the people at FOX News when you have so-called Christian leaders like Dobson and Robertson who interview Beck, help him sell his book promoting his “faith,” and allow him to pass himself off as a Christian without saying one word!!! These men understand it is “good for their business” to ally themselves with the Mormon cult because of their money!!! Money to them is more important than souls!!!

It is no wonder why most Christians are deceived into believing that Mormons are Christians when their “leaders” give a deceiver like Beck credibility since it is in their business interest to do so. After all, the Mormon cult is masterful at using their vast wealth to buy off high profile Christians for credibility. In Romney’s bid for the Presidency, he bought and paid for many well known Christians like Jay Sekulow, Bob Jones III, Ann Coulter, Ralph Reed, Mark DeMoss, and a host of others. The Mormons were instrumental in keeping gay marriage out of California, a very strategic move to gain mainstream credibility in Christian circles.

Of course if anyone dares to say anything about the FACT Beck is a Mormon and simply hold him accountable for purposely trying to deceive people into thinking he is a Christian, you will immediately be labeled as a hate monger. The Mormon cult plays the same game the homosexuals and baby killers play in demonizing anyone who dares speak out against their cult. Trust me, having been the lone voice for nearly a year in the secular media exposing Romney’s lies and deception about his beliefs, I have been on the receiving end of the Mormon cults vast destruction machine that is geared to destroy anyone who exposes their satanic cults beliefs to the world.

Over the years, I have received numerous death threats from Mormons, been slandered me in their publications and Internet websites, and have endured endless attacks on the Liveprayer technology infrastructure that were traced to Utah. I also have no doubt that the powerful Mormon cult with members at every level of our government, played a huge role in the current IRS investigation to try and take away Liveprayer’s tax exemption simply for exposing Mitt Romney’s lies about his beliefs to the world. Anyone who has ever taken on the Mormon cult knows how dirty and deadly they can be when they go after someone who sheds light on their satanically inspired beliefs and practices.

I actually had an email exchange with Glenn Beck back when I exposed the Elizabeth Smart kidnapping as most likely a Mormon who took her to be one of his brides, which proved to be exactly what happened. It is not infrequent for teen girls in Utah and surrounding states to be kidnapped to become a Mormon’s bride. The difference in the Smart case was her father was a bishop in the Mormon cult and able to marshal the incredible media resources of the cult to make her abduction a national story. I challenged Back at the time to have me on his radio program to discuss the real story of the Smart case, and he replied with a series of nasty emails.

I love you and care about you so much. Like in all cults, the average member hasn’t got a clue what their cult really believes. You only get to know everything after you have proven yourself to be a loyal and worthy member of the cult. That is true in the Mormon cult as well. Most Mormons go to their “church,” sing many of the same hymns they sing at the Baptist church down the road, give their tithe, read a few passages out of the Bible, hear a message about being a “good person,” and go home. It is only when you get to become a “temple Mormon” that you really learn all of the deep, dark, satanic beliefs of Mormonism.

Glenn Beck is too smart of a guy, and I have no doubt he fully understands Mormon theology, and thus is 100% premeditated in his lies and deception in leading people to believe he is a Christian. He has made a personal fortune on the radio and TV espousing a conservative political ideology and his “Christian views.” A good portion of his success has come from Christians he has conned into thinking he is also a Christian. I actually agree with most of his political views, all I am asking him to do is the only thing I have asked Mitt Romney to do, and that is to simply identify himself as a Mormon and quit lying to people that he is a Christian!

That is why I am asking you today to email Beck and his producer Stu, and challenge them to have me on his radio and TV programs to discuss “his faith” and what his cult really believes. You can email Beck and his producer at:

Glenn Beck: me@glennbeck.com Stu (Executive Producer): stu@glennbeck.com

Please pray for Glenn Beck to turn from the lies and false beliefs of the Mormon cult and turn to the only Truth there is, the Bible, and the only one who can save his soul, the Jesus of the Bible. Once again, whatever Glenn Beck wants to believe makes no difference to me. If he wants to wear magical underwear and believe he is going to die and be the god of his own planet with many wives to create spirit babies with for all eternity, that is great. My only issue with Beck is to quit deceiving people and lying to them that he is a Christian, when the theology of the Mormon cult has ZERO, NOTHING to do with Biblical Christianity!!!

In His love and service, Your friend and brother in Christ, Bill Keller

It ebbs and flows, but I don’t know what he really means by “culture”, as if invoking the “integrity” of the Nazies or the “perfect” “imaginity” of messiah crazed liberals.

Fascists will get now and then swooped up by communists on sex and fatality of life, and their liberal kids in charge will become vile little f@ggy fascists.

Meanwhile the so called Right wing conspiracy, or as his fairiness McCain calls the GoP risking getting “religious”, go on attacks and defensiveness, good cop bad cop... ebbing and flowing from centrism to National Socialism and communism of dogs lead by instinctive statist packists.

A free people is multifaceted and fulfills each one of these claims which are against its freedoms, but this morass of misfits in the making are turning into a lonely collective bent on “self-sufficient” prides and dishonors, without a cogent system or true other, whose only solution is political, sexual (”tea bagging”-gate flop of the retarded Kinsey media), flesh or sword oriented, all crude and violence oriented ultimately (while hystericaly screaming that we are the crazy ones).

“The cause of civil liberty must not be surrendered at the end of one, or even one hundred defeats.” Abraham Lincoln

If he did say that he is wrong. He does not have the authority to state the war is over and we have lost. No one does. The war always goes on. It always continues.

Another Lincoln quote:

That is the real issue. That is the issue that will continue in this country when these poor tongues of Judge Douglas and myself shall be silent. It is the eternal struggle between these two principles -- right and wrong -- throughout the world. They are the two principles that have stood face to face from the beginning of time, and will ever continue to struggle. The one is the common right of humanity and the other the divine right of kings. It is the same principle in whatever shape it develops itself. It is the same spirit that says, 'You work and toil and earn bread, and I'll eat it.' No matter in what shape it comes, whether from the mouth of a king who seeks to bestride the people of his own nation and live by the fruit of their labor, or from one race of men as an apology for enslaving another race, it is the same tyrannical principle. --October 15, 1858 Debate at Alton

Great article. Well said about the megachurch pastors and their need to water down the message.

I know there are a lot of Mormons on FR that believe the same thing politically as Christians but we do not worship the same God.

A pretty good summary of what the Mormons believe put simply here. Kind of cartoonish but I love to hear a Mormon refute it.

And I will give you this:

The will of God prevails. In great contests each party claims to act in accordance with the will of God. Both may be, and one must be, wrong. God cannot be for and against the same thing at the same time. In the present civil war it is quite possible that God's purpose is something different from the purpose of either party -- and yet the human instrumentalities, working just as they do, are of the best adaptation to effect His purpose. I am almost ready to say that this is probably true -- that God wills this contest, and wills that it shall not end yet. By his mere great power, on the minds of the now contestants, He could have either saved or destroyed the Union without a human contest. Yet the contest began. And, having begun He could give the final victory to either side any day. Yet the contest proceeds.

Succinct and on the money.

This is when this author lost me. This nutcase Deace is on our local radio.

This guy uses his airtime to belittle Republcians at every turn. For instance, last night I turned to his station in my car and the only words I heard him say was that in regards to this gay marriage mess we have in Iowa that "they" have had to hold guns to the heads of House Republicans to get them to do anything about the issue and that the Minority Leader in the Senate was useless.

Both premises are lies. Deace cares far more about using his time belittling Republicans than he cares about solving this problem. He has even ragged on our Congressman Steve King. No one is good enough for him.

BTW, he voted for Obama and votes against all our Republican candidates. You go figure out this guy but he gets someone in his crosshairs and he doesn't stop.

Deace is not an unbiased source for anything.

OK so Bill Keller is a moronic a-hole. Who knew--never heard of him before. And no the culture war is not lost, although Keller's paranoid psychotic ramblings sure don't help.

I was “there” when a call came in to a pastor about the Jim Bakker debacle. And I heard half the conversation but could guess the rest. The pastor and the president of that denomination were discussing how to distance themselves from Bakker and his organization, PTL.

At that point, my distrust of all things Protestant went from root to bud. It culminated in 1992 when I officially became a Roman Catholic. There is amazing comfort in traditions and doctrine handed down from around 33 AD to present.

I would say it is a cult and I pray that the Mormons who are reading this will truly see the Truth.

The Mormon movement began with “the prophet” Joseph Smith, Jr. in the year 1820. Joe (as he was known) was born to some rather strange parents in 1805. His mother, Lucy, was involved in occult practices and visions, while his father, Joseph, Sr., consumed much time with imaginary treasure digging (including the booty of Captain Kidd).

According to Mormon writings (Pearl of Great Price, Joseph Smith - History 1:1-25), on a day in 1820, Joe was praying in the woods when he received a vision from God the Father and Jesus. It was revealed to Joe that the church was in apostasy and he was the chosen one to launch a new dispensation.

Being unwilling to drop his current occupation of money-digging with his father (while using “peep stones” and “divining rods”), Joe put his “calling” on hold for three years. Then, according to his own account (Pearl of Great Price, Joseph Smith - History 1:29-54), he was paid a bedside visit by the angel Moroni in 1823. Moroni, who professed to be the glorified son of a man named Mormon (who had been dead 1400 years), told Joe about a book of golden plates which contained “the fulness of the everlasting Gospel.” This book was said to have been buried at Cumorah Hill, near Palmyra, New York, some 1400 years earlier by the man named Mormon. Four years later (1827), Joe supposedly dug up the golden plates along with a gigantic pair of spectacles which he called “the Urim and Thummim.” The spectacles were for translating the hieroglyphics on the plates. With the help of his only legal wife and a friend named Oliver Cowdery, Joe translated the plates and published the Book of Mormon in 1830. Later that same year, Joe, his wife, his brothers (Hyrum and Samuel), and Cowdery established the “Church of Jesus Christ,” which is known today as the “Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints.”

The Book of Mormon contains many plagiarisms of the King James English (at least 25,000 words). This is strange since the plates were supposed to have been in the ground many centuries before the King James Bible was completed in 1611! The Book of Mormon also contains many errors such as claims of elephants in the Western Hemisphere and advanced metal producing capabilities in America before 400 A.D. (See Walter Martin’s Kingdom of the Cults for a fine study in the errors of the Mormon Bible)

The Mormons, under Smith’s command, turned out to be a rough bunch. Joe was a polygamist with at least twenty- seven wives (some say over 60 wives). The whole gang left New York for Ohio, and then moved to Missouri. The Missouri governor ran them out of the state, so they settled in Nauvoo, Illinois, and built the state’s largest city. In 1844, Joe and Hyrum were thrown in jail. Then an angry mob stormed the jail and murdered them both. Naturally, this “martyrdom” insured the perpetual reverence of the great “prophet” Joseph Smith.

The “church” then split. The Smith family headed for Independence, Missouri and started what is now the “Recognized Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints.” However, the majority of Smith’s followers chose Brigham Young as their new captain.

To escape U.S. laws, Young led the Mormons from Nauvoo to Salt Lake City in 1847 (which then belonged to Mexico). For the next thirty years, Young and his “saints” laid the foundation stones of the Mormon cult.

Little known to most Mormons, Young was a rather rough and ruthless character. In 1857, he commanded Bishop John D. Lee to murder a wagon train of over one hundred helpless non-Mormon immigrants. Twenty years later Lee was convicted and executed by the U.S. Government. Young escaped punishment, and his role in the Mountain Meadows Massacre has escaped the Mormon history books.

Young spent most of his “ministry” dodging the law to continue the immoral practice of polygamy. At the time of his death in 1877, Young had seventeen wives and fifty-six children.

Today the Mormon church is administrated by its “General Authorities.” These authorities consist of the “First Presidency,” the “Counsel of Twelve Apostles,” the “First Quorum of the Seventy” and its presidency, the “Presiding Bishoprick,” and the “Patriarch of the Church.”

Male Mormons over twelve years of age are divided into priesthoods. The Aaronic order is the lesser priesthood, and the Melchizedek order is the higher.

The church is divided into thousands of “wards” and “stakes,” with over 2000 branches and 180 missions, and over 5,000,000 members.

Mormons are very missionary-minded people, with over 26,000 active missionaries. However, much of this missionary army consists of young men and women in their early twenties who must serve two years in missionary work while supporting themselves.

The Mormon people of today are highly respected in our society, but there is nothing respectable about their doctrines. Some are as follows:

The Deity of Man Promoted

Mormons teach that man can become God, and that God was once a man:

“God himself, the Father of us all, is a glorified, exalted immortal resurrected man!” (Bruce McConkie, Mormon Doctrine, pp. 322-23, 517, 643)
“...God himself was once as we are now and is an exalted man and sits enthroned in yonder heavens...” (Journal of Discourses, V6, P3, 1844)
“As man is, God once was: as God is, man may become.” (Lorenzo Snow, quoted in Milton R. Hunter, the Gospel Through the Ages, pp. 105-106)

This is plain and simple heresy. Nowhere does the Bible say or imply that God was ever a man, or that man can become God! Malachi 3:6 says, “For I am the LORD, I change not...” How could this be true if God was once a man? Genesis 1:1 states that God existed “in the beginning” before man was ever created. John 4:24 states that God is a “spirit,” and Jesus tells us in John 1:18 that no man has seen God at any time. Numbers 23:19 says that “God is not a man that he should lie; neither the son of man that he should repent.” God has always been God, and no one has ever “become” God.

Deity of Jesus Christ Denied

The Deity of Jesus Christ is a fundamental doctrine of Christianity, yet the Mormons deny this truth. Exalting man to “god status” is apparently alright, but Jesus Christ is not acknowledged as the eternal Son of God in the Mormon church. The Mormon Jesus was a preexisting spirit who was exalted, just as Mormon followers hope to be exalted someday.

God is a Trinity (I Jn. 5:7), and the second Member of that Trinity is the Lord Jesus Christ. John 1:1 says that “the Word was God,” and John 1:14 tells us that “the Word was made flesh.” Jesus Christ is the Word incarnate, and John 1:1 tells us that the Word was God; so Jesus Christ is God.

Jesus allowed Thomas to address Him as “My Lord and my God” in John 20:28. In Isaiah 9:6, He is called “The mighty God” and “The everlasting Father,” and we read in Micah 5:2 that Jesus is “from everlasting.”

Our Lord allowed people to worship him in John 10:38 and in Matthew 14:33, and since He is “God with us” (Mat. 1:23) He also has power to forgive sins (Mk. 2:5). Jesus Christ is clearly Deity, yet this doctrine is denied by the Mormons.

Multiple Authorities

The Bible declares, “To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.” (Isa. 8:20) However, the Mormon Church claims that other writings, such as the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith’s writings are also authoritative. In fact, Joseph Smith taught his people to doubt the accuracy of the Bible: “...it was apparent that many important points touching the salvation of men, had been taken from the Bible, or lost before it was compiled.” (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, p. 10)

Mormon Writings Support Polygamy

“...if any man espouse a virgin, and desire to espouse another, and the first give her consent, and if he espouse the second, and they are virgins, and have vowed to no other man, then he is justified; he cannot commit adultery...And if he have ten virgins given unto him by this law, he cannot commit adultery.” (Doctrines and Covenants, 132:61, 62)

Jesus Christ held a slightly different view (Mark 10:6- 9). There is no way a man can be “one flesh” with more than one woman. A man and his wife are supposed to picture Christ and his church (Eph. 5:23-32), but this symbolism is shattered by the Mormon heresy of Polygamy.

True Church Theory

The Mormon book, The Pearl of Great Price, claims that all other Christian groups are “corrupt” and are an “abomination” in God’s sight (Joseph Smith, 2:19). Such claims as this are based on the unscriptural assumption that the Lord Jesus Christ has a specific religious organization on the earth today, complete with a name, a membership, and a leadership, which makes up His “true church.” This doctrine is found nowhere in God’s word. Everyone who has received Christ as their Saviour is a member of His church, which is a spiritual body of born-again believers (Eph. 4:4; 5:23-32; Col. 1:18-24; Heb. 12:23; Rev. 19:7; 5:9-10; 21:9).

Other False Teachings

The Mormons deny the Trinity and the existence of a literal burning Hell, yet they promote polytheism (many gods), baptism for the dead, and the notion that Jesus and Satan were originally spirit brothers! Friend, make no mistake about it—Mormonism is a dangerous cult. In the eyes of man, the Mormons seem very respectable, but the light of God’s word reveals the true wolves behind the sheep clothing. Jesus said, “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.” (Mat. 7:15) Don’t look at their nice families, their clean-cut hair, and their friendly “missionaries.” LOOK AT THEIR DOCTRINES! (I Tim. 4:1)

There is no way to cover all of the Mormon heresies in a tract this size. For further reading, we recommend our publication, The Bible Believer’s Handbook of Heresies, which sheds light on many of the heresies being taught today in the name of our Saviour Jesus Christ.

Salvation through Works

Mormons believe that one’s salvation is based on such good works as baptism, good deeds, missionary work, and following Mormon teachings. In The Articles of Faith, by James Talmage, justification by faith in Jesus Christ is called a “pernicious doctrine” twice and he states that it has been “an influence for evil.” (pp. 107, 480) Bruce McConkie once stated at Brigham Young University that a personal relationship with Jesus Christ is “improper and perilous” (Church News, March 20, 1982, p. 5)

Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Romans 4:5 says that salvation comes to those who do not work for salvation, but believe on Jesus Christ instead!

Jesus Christ came into this world to lay down His sinless life for YOU—to pay for your sins because you couldn’t. Jesus is your only hope for salvation. Only by receiving Him as your Saviour can you enter the gates of Heaven. There is no other way. “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me.” (John 14:6) “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)

The Lord Jesus Christ has come and PAID for your sins by shedding His own Blood on Calvary. By receiving Him as your Saviour, you can be WASHED from all your sins in His precious Blood (Rev. 1:5; Col. 1:14; Acts 20:28; I Pet. 1:18-19). Notice these important words from Romans 5:8-9: “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.”

Jesus PAID your way to Heaven! Your church cannot save you! Only by receiving Jesus Christ as your Saviour can you escape the damnation of Hell. Are you willing to forsake YOUR righteousness and receive Jesus Christ as your Saviour, your ONLY HOPE for Salvation? Romans 10:13 says, “Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:9 says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Why not pray right now and ask the Lord to come into your heart and cleanse you from all sin? He will save you just as He promised.

Hold on a sec. Let's not bash anyone's religious affiliation just yet.

38 "Teacher," said John, "we saw a man driving out demons in your name and we told him to stop, because he was not one of us."
39 "Do not stop him," Jesus said. "No one who does a miracle in my name can in the next moment say anything bad about me,
40 for whoever is not against us is for us.

41 I tell you the truth, anyone who gives you a cup of water in my name because you belong to Christ will certainly not lose his reward.

— Mark 9:38-9:41 [NIV]

Let's look at the BIG picture and quit looking at the imperfections of the small picture. As a Roman Catholic, I have the oldest Christian Religion (having come out of Judaism, through Patrimony), but that does not mean that other Christian denominations, from Orthodox, Church of England/Anglican, Lutheran, Presbyterian, Congregationalist, Baptist, Dutch Reformed, Quaker, Amish, Methodist, Unitarian, Episcopal, Disciples of Christ, Mormon, Seventh Day Adventist, Salvation Army, Christian Missionary Alliance, Jehovah's Witness, Christian Scientist, Assemblies of God, Foursquare Gospel, United Pentecostal, United Church of Christ, Calvary Chapel, Independent, Non-Denominational, etc. do not have some similarities in amongst the sometimes glaring differences.

If all these denomination teach that salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, then it is that "scarlet cord" which binds all Christian denominations together. We may disagree on every other point of doctrine, but if we agree on that one, then we call ourselves "Christian" and we are all "brothers and sisters in Christ."

Now if you want to bash Muhammadanism which teaches doctrine contrary to Christianity, be my guest.

Well, heck... I even had the Moonies give me money in the 80s... LOL...

They paid for my trip to a political convention in Miami, Florida, where I saw Ollie North and Fawn Hall speak, along with a number of other speakers. The moonies covered the plane flight, the Hotel Intercontinental (where I saw the Sandinistas and the Contras passing and meeting the lobby... LOL...). They paid for all my meals and everything else in the hotel.

The only thing I paid for was to go out of the hotel and see other things in the city.

It was a trip sponsored by the Moonies for certain members of a legislators “entourage” (which I was part of, a local conservative legislator in Oregon politics).

I haven’t changed my attitudes or views on the Bible and/or Christianity because of the Moonies... :-)

“I will be praying for you specifically”

Nice psychophrenic good cop/bad cop. (mental)

Bad Cop = Yell that Mormons are Satanic.
Good Cop = say that you will pray for them.

My prayer is like Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.”

I might not know what I am doing but in the scripture you refer to Christ was referring to the Romans who were crucifying him.

This is what I know, if any of these are wrong you tell me.
1. Christ is the Son of God
2. He was born of a virgin Mary.
3. Christ did nothing except teach others the Good News, heal the sick, comfort the afflicted, forgive the repentant, and raise the dead
3. It through the sacrifice of Christ and Him only that will give me any chance of not going to Hell.
4. Without the Savior the entire world would be lost forever.
5. Christ was crucified and then resurrected 3 days later.
6. Christ loves every person.
7. As far as my doing, instead of crucifying the Savior as the Roman soldiers were doing, I try to help those that need help, and mourn with those that mourn.
8. I sin and do wrong every day and when I do I am even more thankful for my Savior.

If that is Satanic then that says more about you than me.

Dude:

“That is what the Mormons want you to believe without digging into what they truly believe.”

Except for the Bible, you have no idea what I have studied, thought, read or otherwise. Take it from me. I know what Mormons teach and believe.

If a love for the Savior is Satanic then it is by your words not mine.

When do I find out what Mormons really believe? When I reach the 58th level of Mormonism right? At what level of Mormonism do we start preaching Satanism.?

Since I am only at level 3 then I guess all I am worthy to be taught is that Christ is my Savior.
