Bill Ayers?
Father Pflager?
Rod Blagojovich?
Rev Wright?
Ahmadenijad?
Fidel or Rauol Castro?
Al Gore?
Hillary?
No problem for Notre Dame, the possibilities are endless.

I am full of admiration for Mary Ann Glendon’s principled action.
The White House statement refers to how Mr. Obama “governs.” I was under the impression that he has only a share of the authority parceled out by the Constitution.

It would be a consolation prize for Caroline Kennedy not getting the Vatican Ambassadorship.

John Kerry will be honored to accept this years Laetare Medal.
He will put it next to his three unearned purple hearts and the three band aids that correspond to them.

I'm pretty sure Father Jenkins is feeling a little low at this point...I know — Let's send him a letter with our suggestions — let him know he can count on us when times are tough. C’mon, we can do it — yes we can! Freepers have the best minds in the world, so let's give him a hand.

Eggsactly! Such a great idea. After all, it's all about feelings, isn't it?
To: NYer
God bless this good woman. ND should not have said that it would award the medal to another until they had found someone who would accept it. They may well end up with even more egg on their faces.

Sadly, you're right.

If some Freeper actually had the time and initiative to send our suggestions to Jenkins it would be GREAT. That is a very good idea!

I’m surprised the WH response doesn’t use the word ‘rules’ instead of ‘governs’. Maybe they’re saving that for next year...

While he is honored to have the support of millions of people of all faiths, he does not govern with the expectation that everyone sees eye to eye with him on every position, and the spirit of debate and healthy disagreement on important issues is part of what he loves about this country. Sorry... Obambi doesn't care to debate or listen to opposing views. He said the same thing before rescinding the ban on embryo stem cell research. It sounds all cozy, but there is no room for debate with these people.
If he had any respect for the Catholic Church he would have respectfully declined the invitation to speak there, knowing the furor he would be causing.

Good for Mary Ann Glendon. I applaud her standing on principle. “See you Laetare!”

That can always give it to Kmiec. It’s not an ambassadorship to the Vatican, but he needs something for his betrayal.
