OUR MISSION: Following the risen Christ, and seeking to make the Church a true community of hospitality, the mission of More Light Presbyterians is to work for the full participation of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people of faith in the life, ministry and witness of the Presbyterian Church (USA).
"God's Whole Family" Conference Registration now open The National Welcoming & Affirming Presbyterian Conference September 4 - 6, 2009: Labor Day Weekend Second Presbyterian Church, Nashville, Tennessee
"God's Whole Family" is hosted by Second Presbyterian Church, Nashville and produced by More Light Presbyterians for pro-LGBT Presbyterians, families, friends and allies.
Rev. Bruce Reyes-Chow, Moderator of the 218th General Assembly, PCUSA, will join us as a keynote speaker and preacher. Bruce is pastor of Mission Bay Community Church, a multi-cultural Presbyterian congregation in San Francisco, CA
Rev. Debra Peevey, MLP's Campaign Outreach Coordinator for Amendment 08-B, will be with us to share heartwarming stories of faith, courage and transformation plus lessons learned from the campaign. Debra is a minister in the Disciples of Christ tradition and lives with her spouse, Candy in Surprise, AZ.
We will gather in community and deepen our faith through affirming worship and by celebrating the gifts of God's creation, love and grace for us and all the world.
Then again, Senator Ted Kennedy's Portuguese Water Spaniel is named "Splash."
Let me guess: They say that they were presdestined to be gay?
Are the Presbyterians also allowing homosexual ‘pastors’ like the Episcopalians?
When do the adulterers, thieves and serial killers get a chance to become pastors and claim the same? ;-)
When they truly ask for forgiveness.
I should have added unrepentant. A homosexual who is engaged in homosexual activity has no business on the pulpit — for (s)he mocks the Word of God.
Its not THE God’s family.
The Bible talks of times when good will be perceived bad and bad perceived as good.
Come out from among them-St. Paul
It mystifies me that they can talk about being a follower of Christ and ignore the warnings of Romans. And I guess they bypass the account of Sodom and Gomorrah and countless other warnings in the Bible about going against God’s commandments. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.

Having read the Bible several times I find it amazing I missed the parts where Jesus promoted homosexuality.
Where Jesus was tolerant of sin except where the sinner repented and sought forgiveness for their sins.
Maybe they use a different Bible...........
How can a Church run by UNrepentent sinners be considered a Christian Church?
Sinners that have repented their sins sure, but how do active sinners teach the Bible??
By redefining, "sin"?
That's exactly what they've done, and exactly what they intend to continue doing.
“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.” (KJV - Matthew 7:13-20)

You mean, More Light in the Loafers Presbyterians? I daresay that they were all predestined to be what they are; they have absolutely no say so. God is in absolute control of their warped lives, right?
Actually, that's EXACTLY what they say.
I used to think that there was no such thing as a liberal Calvinist... that is until homosexuals started saying that they were "born that way".
There's no such thing as a faithful and consistent liberal Calvinist. If someone discounts such fundamental moral issues like murder (abortion), theft (socialism and taxes) and covetousness (socialistic redistribution of wealth) in favor of thinks like achieving "social justice" or "climate change" or whatever, they demonstrate that they don't really take God's sovereignty seriously. To paraphrase what our Catholic friends are so fond of saying, they're Calvinist-In-Name-Only, and they're not really Calvinists.
If formerly-Calvinist denominations like the PC(USA) were realy consistent in their current beliefs, they would drop the "Calvinist" moniker in favor of a title more "progressive"-minded.

Well written. As a Bible-believing, truly Calvinistic Presbyterian(PCA, not PCUSA), ITA.
