Obama Misled Pope on Abortion, Congressman Charges
EWTN ^ | Jul 20, 2009

In remarks on the House floor last week, Congressman Chris Smith argued that President Obama purposely misled Pope Benedict XVI when he said that he “wants to reduce abortion” at their July 10 meeting.

Smith recalled the president's statement to the Pope and pointed out that Obama has repeated it several times to different audiences. And yet, Smith charged, Obama’s actions have not aligned with his words. “He says one thing and does precisely the opposite.”

Now, the New Jersey Congressman said, Obama is offering a plan for health care reform that is a thinly veiled attempt to increase access to abortion on demand. The plan would increase funding for abortions and allow abortion services to be considered part of “basic health care” required by all insurance plans, including private plans.

The conman Obama will say anything that he feels will keep the mark hooked. He doesn’t care about anyone’s opinion of what he really does, as long as all the marks remain hooked.

The Pope was just another mark to Obama.

I’m sure that BXVI, as astute as he is, and as informed on internal US politics as he is, is not going to fall for an empty suit with outsize jug ears.

The Church has been around for 2000 years; the current incarnation of the Democrats has been around for maybe 40.

***Boy, the Pope sure is lucky to have the likes of an American Congressman to set him straight and keep him from being fooled by Obama. Gee, without an American Congressman to guide him, well, the poor old unsophisticated and simple Pope probably would have just turned the keys of the Vatican over to the President...and then what????????????????????????? ***

I’m sure that Obama has taught the Pope even more than did Nancy Pelosi. The EP? Putty. Catholicism has no chance against the wiles of Obama. I think that you and I had better just pack it in and start reading the Gospels according to Rahm Emmanuel and David Axelrod.

I suspect that Rahm’s Gospel will be a rather short one.

Yup. No doubt the best course is simply to accept that The Church is finished. So sad! Ah, well....

“The Patriarch must have a very impressive immune system.”

Comes from a lifetime of exposure to Turkish Mohammedan toxin. Its a lot like the result of repeated exposure to some snake venoms, immunity.

We have a a custom sort of like that, the Blessing of the New Cars. The priest says some prayers then everyone throws coins into the cars. Two years later its usually still worthwhile to look under a seat for that needed extra nickel or dime!

Nope. Throwing money at their parents, who had to pay for the auto insurance, would have been sensible, but I don’t think anyone thought of it.

The Pope is a big boy and should have kicked that crypto-muslims ass to the curb on a multitude of issues, Husseins lust for baby killing obviously the most important.

***The Pope is a big boy and should have kicked that crypto-muslims ass to the curb on a multitude of issues, Husseins lust for baby killing obviously the most important.***

It is not just that the Pope is the head of the Latin branch of Christianity, it is that he serves as both head of state AND head of government of Vatican City. Obama, being president in a democratic republic, also serves as both head of state and head of government.

These meetings are tricky because of all the levels involved. Plus, in these three roles, the various Popes have met with all kinds of evil men or have sent Papal envoys and set up embassies in their countries. JPII visited Castro. Should he not have done that? Should the Vatican have shunned the entire Eastern bloc during the Iron Curtain decades? Should Poland have been left under the boot of the commissars?
