CatholicsComeHome.org was the brainchild of Arizonan Tom Peterson, who, according to the groups website while on a Catholic retreat in 1997 had a profound reversion experience.
Now Peterson speaks at Catholic and pro-life events around the country.
Among those serving on his Theological Advisory Board are Bishop Thomas Olmsted of Phoenix, Bishop Jaime Soto of Sacramento, Bishop Michael Sheridan of Colorado Springs, Scott Hahn, and Peter Kreeft.
Three award-winning videos which have a 2008 copyright have now been made into a CD to share with others.
The first, called Epic, details the contributions of the Catholic Church over the ages: We are the largest charitable organization on the planet We educate more children than any other scholarly or religious institution We developed the scientific method and the laws of evidence We founded the college system We defend the dignity of all human life We uphold marriage .
The second, titled Movie, shows three characters who look back at regrettable life incidents and tells us we can be thankful we have the chance to help God edit your life story and create the ideal ending.
The third, Testimonials, includes stories of Catholics who left their faith and returned. The tag-line:If youve been away from the catholic church, we invite you to take another look.

Wasted effort so long as some bishops are of the mind that one told me: “There is no room in the Catholic Church for people like you”> My great crime - I did not want them to destroy the churches and the Mass in favor of progress.
Sound familiar?
Awesome group Missy.
We go no tv during 43 days of Lent.
Only EWTN and Catholiccomehome was a very essential part of our lenten prayer.
Thank You for posting.
Wonderful outreach but hey that is JMO.
And bump.
Sorry for your exp.
I am going to Freep mail you.
If you dismiss this project as a “wasted effort” because you were treated badly by the church, how are you different than the bishops who treated you badly? Negativity breeds negativity. You have a moral obligation to keep fighting for the faith, as these people are doing.
who are you addressing?
bump!
I asked you a question.
Oh for heavens sake.. Missy is a term of endearment..
And reply on other posts.
I am totally in support of Catholics come home.
Did we mis communicate. Missy.
To be very clear I support Catholics come home.
And FYI, I am a GENTLEMAN. I'm not ANYONE'S "missy!"
After almost 8 years on FR, over 4,600 threads & 34K posts;
I would have thought that even you would have figured that out by now.
I don't know how old you are but if you go into any business and address ANYONE as “Missy” you will not be looked upon favorably.
PS If memory, serves, I believe you have been educated on this issue before. I suggest you drop such a word from your vocabulary.
Discuss the issues all you want, but do not make it personal.
Thanks. I had no clue. I apoligize to kelly.
I was not trying to be sarcastic. I made a human error in assumption.
Are you blaming the victim of the Bishops venom as the one that caused the problem?
This week I asked for a parish form and asked what I needed to do to return to the church. I had seen RCIAA classes, but those are for those who have not had the sacraments. I was told that I only need to go to Reconciliation. So, wow! When I am absolutely ready...
That's all any Catholic needs to do whether it's been a day or a decade...
WELCOME HOME! BIG SMILE
NT .... as I paraphrase Ronald R... I didn’t leave the Catholic Church, the catholic church left me !!
Find a good parish, they exist even in Liberal Land.
Yea....well good luck with that defense come Judgment Day.
I only hope for your sake that you find a priest & make a good Confession BEFORE you “check out.” Because being a charcoal briquette ad infinitum could not be fun.
Same here, but I found it again only 100 feet away! (in the Traditional Chapel). Unfortunately, some people will have to search a little further.
No, just saying that even victims should be supportive of positive efforts by people in the Church.
Call God.
You posted on a Welcome home thread.
Shows intent on your behalf.
Perservere Froggie.
The program at our church is called, “Catholics Can Come Home Again.” We have anywhere from four to twenty people come to a session in the spring as well as one in the fall or winter.
That’s quite a bit for a smaller parish with only 1000 families. (Ten years ago it was only 550-600 families!)
Videos on a CD? Who edits this stuff.
