The Holy Spirit is still guiding the Church and the scandals have placed priests back in the role Christ had in mind for them: servants of the Church.

"What is happening in the Church will pass. Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today and forever." --Mother Teresa (paraphrased quote)

I see this whole dust-up as a demonstration of the wheat being separated from the chaff!

That funeral proved the Catholic Church in Boston is, and can be, and has been, bought off. They have been all about the money for a long, long time. No servant can serve two masters.--Luke 13:16.

Don't they bother to read the Bible anymore, or do they just use it as a reference book for their own liberal, worldly ideas?

If the Catholics of America depended on the leadership of its Bishops over the last 30-40 years, where would the Pro Life Movement be today?

Is that a trick question? The priests, the ones in the trenches (Fr. Pavone et. al) are the ones out in front battling the pro-aborts, and then they do battle their liberal Bishops once they get back to the Church!

I'm not saying the entire Catholic Church is infected with liberalism....just the Boston diocese (once they got hooked on Kennedy money).

On his blog Arroyo wrote, "The prayer intercessions at the funeral mass, the endless eulogies, the image of the Cardinal Archbishop of Boston reading prayers, and finally Cardinal McCarrick interring the remains sent an uncontested message: One may defy Church teaching, publicly lead others astray, deprive innocent lives of their rights, and still be seen a good Catholic, even an exemplary one."

True words.

“the root of Fr. Rosica’s concerns seems to be the fact that lay persons are daring to publicly question the actions of clergy.”

It is high time that we do so. We have not been loud or stern enough. Perhaps Father resented the huge outcry in the molestation scandal.

My intention is to keep up my letter campaign for their own good. I intend to become much much louder in my complaints. They have strayed. Period.

Nailed it.

My son is going into seminary next fall. He is as devout and conservative as they come. The liberal loons did not raise their children in the faith so most of them are not interested in entering seminary, they want to pursue lives of self satisfaction, not self giving. The ones who are entering semininary and convents today are the faithful remnant.

I look forward to the coming generation. Thank you to all the parents who remained faithful in the last generation who raised their children to be the remnant that will now become the mushroom cloud of holiness through the Holy Spirit. Revival, Renewal,Restoration.........Praise God!

My thought exactly He has His winnowing fan firmly in grip and he is separating. Truth and Love should never be separated, unlike the sheep and goats.

Prayers out to your son.

After my wife had a stroke a few months back, I had the pleasure of talking to a Benedictine monk assigned to Wash Hosp Ctr in DC.

We had a great conversation about raising children in today’s secular society. He also talked about the challenges for priests in today’s anti God society as well as obstacles from within the priesthood itself.

There are good and blessed men out there. Simply conversing with them will show you their hearts and let them know that the faithful are praying for them.

And thank you, wombtotomb, for giving your wonderful son to God and His Church. May the special blessings reserved for Abraham follow you.

God blessed me with 3 wonderful sons. He chose one for Himself in special service, but the other 2 are devout Catholics as well. He has richly blessed my husband and me to overflowing in our lives. We are honored to give Him all that He requires of us as we have all we do by His Love.

Please remember him in your prayers, as the attacks are all too present and all too real in families with vocations, and thank you for your kind words :)

Thank you for your prayers and kind words.

With God all things are possible, even in todays society. It is harder, no doubt, but the faithful remnant are answering the call in droves. It truly is a changing of the guard in the American Catholic Church, and it is long past due. Continue your prayers for our next generation of Gods warriors; they will need them, appreciate them, and truly depend upon the prayers of a righteous man-they do availeth much!

BTW, I posted a comment to Salt and Light Network on the blogspot comments section.

Apparently the good Father wants to squelch debate as my comment has been waiting moderation for a half a day already.

I guess he doesn’t like my Acquinas quote.
