LOL. Screw Teddy Kennedy and all the horses he rode in with.

And may God rest his soul. May no one go to HELL.

I find it unbelievable that hatred for ‘good’ runs so deep. Wonder if any priests were at the museum? Did they get the same treatment?

"WTF are you talking about?"

A dead young woman in a car driven by Teddy. Revue history and get back to me.

"If you're too stupid to read the plain language written in my posts, please keep that to yourself."

That would be a little difficult since you just posted it.

Not according to some. Ted Kennedy died as he lived. A pompas ass.

No hard feelings I trust. The Kennedys drive me nuts. I refer you to "Give War A Chance" By P.J. O'Rourke page 156.

I certainly don't hold grudges when people misread what I say.

Especially when I am agreeing with them.

My 14 year-old daughter is just now reading Parliament of Whores. Next will be Eat The Rich.

Have a great holiday weekend!

Great read. We just got off on the wrong foot for some reason. I'm a hot head when it comes to liberty.

If Kennedy made a sincere confession to a Priest he would have wanted the public that he has so horribly poisoned with his actions to know that he had been terribly and horribly wrong. He would have wanted to undo as much of the damage that he has done as possible. A decent Priest would have let him know that since his sins were public so should his confession be. The Priest should have made an announcement to the world that TK had confessed and wanted the world to know. That would have been a sincere confession and as far as The Catholic Church is concerned it should have accepted nothing less and certainly should not have celebrated his wicked life.

I don’t know if he is in hell. God is the judge, not me.

God doesn't put anyone in hell - it's the individuals decisions in life that determine one's eternal destiny. God's will is for all to be saved and He didn't leave us in the dark as to what we need for salvation. As far as his eternal destiny - it's none of my business. I did pray for him when I heard about his cancer that he will do what he knows to do. I have no doubt in my mind that his sister, Eunice, spoke and prayed for and with him.

But for us to pray for him if we so choose, we can always say prayers for the poor souls in Purgatory

If you choose, yes, but to non effect. Either Ted believed or he didn't. Purgatory is not biblical. Either Jesus died for all your sins or He didn't. For anyone to think that they have to 'add' to something to what Jesus already did - remain in purgatory to cleanse themselves - is saying Jesus/The Cross isn't enough for salvation- "I" still have to do something else to gain heaven. What did Jesus say to the thief on the cross when He acknowledged Jesus is the Son of God, our Savior. He said, 'you will be with me today in paradise'. He didn't say you have to go to purgatory and be cleansed first. Either Jesus cleansed us of our sins, past, present and future or He didn't. To deny otherwise, is saying Jesus can't cleanse me entirely, I have to do some of it myself.

It's called Good News for a reason - we are saved by grace through faith and to think we need to add anything is not faith in what Jesus already did.

Excellent post!

That's something I was hoping for. So much so that my thoughts went to - what if Ted did and the priest told the family he (the priest) wanted to share it w/the public because that was Ted's wish - and they forbade him to do it for political reasons.

We are told that he was visited regularly by a priest in his last days; we assume that he made a sincere confession and received absolution.

Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.

I'm not much of a theologist, but what you did with the first post I responded to violates pretty much everything I've ever felt about Christianity.

I agree, you're not much of a theologist.

But you do make me wonder what you "feel about Christianity."

The issue with the funeral is not whether Kennedy repented or not and whether he was saved or not. That's something only his confessor, if he repented in confession, or God can know. The issue was the big, splashy public funeral for somebody who was a public sinner, publicly opposed the Church on a serious moral issue (several, actually), created public policies that were openly in conflict with the teaching of the Church, and led others into sin through his behavior.

If he had publicly repented and announced at the last minute that he had been wrong in his policies, he was sorry, and he wanted to use his last moments to correct his errors, I could see the big public funeral (although of course Obama would probably not have been invited to stand in the pulpit in that case!).

But as it is, if he repented privately, he should have had a quiet, private funeral celebrated by the local parish priest.

And Obama, leader in virtually every anti-Catholic policy there is, should never have been invited to say anything in a Church building. I think this sums up the impact of the big splasy funeral with Obama preaching:

So in honoring him at Mission Church, Catholic leaders sent out a very disturbing message to the world: a message that could even be construed as surrender.
