Old Catholics tell Romans to ignore your bishops
Examiner.com ^ | November 16 | Rev. Mother Meredith Moise, SPSA

Posted on 11/17/2009 11:13:30 AM PST by Gamecock

The Southern Province of the North American Old Catholic Church calls on bishops of the Roman sect to abandon their devisive and hate-filled attitude toward lesbian and gay people. The Roman bishops began a meeting on Monday (11/16/2009) in Baltimore, MD, and are expected to issue a major "pastoral letter" against equal rights for gay people.

"It is like they are telling their brothers and sisters: Thou Shalt Not Love," says Archbishop Wynn Wagner, the Regionary Bishop of the Southern Province USA of the North American Old Catholic Church (NAOCC). "They have forgotten the message of love, in their rush toward a notion of post-modernism."

The North American Old Catholic Church has called the month of November a Month of Prayer for those hurt by the Roman bishops' actions. The Old Catholic Church -- being closer to the ancient teachings of Christ -- does not consider gender or sexual orientation to be an impediment to any sacrament, including ordination and marraige.

"We call on adherents of the Roman sect to ignore the pronouncements of the later-day Pharisees," the archbishop continued. "They certainly don't speak for traditional Catholicism. Remember to pray for those bishops and those they hurt."

Hello? Just because a group assumes to themselves the nae “Catholic” does not in anyway affiliate them the the Catholic Church. These people disagree with fundamental Church doctrine and are in open opposition to the authority of the Church. They are another tradition of Protestantism and no more Catholic than you are.

Did you read the encyclical? Ratzinger calls for a "global authority" over the U.S.' and the world's national sovereignty, immigration policies; natural resources, economics, health, and environmental programs, etc.

Read it. The putrid intent of this encyclical is couched in platitudes and seemingly harmless concern for the poor.

All enforced "with teeth."

As is the case with a lot of papist errors, the devil's in the details.

Rev. Meredith Moise, besides being a gay rights activist, is trying to start gay-friendly Christian youth centers.

Where did they get this wisdom?

By such posts you are displaying either your ignorance or your anti-Catholic bigotry (spoken by a Protestant).

This outfit is to Catholicism what the ELCA is to Lutheranism.

Too late. We already have it.

Stand by for instructions. You will be among the first incarcerated. Resistance is futile.

But be of good cheer. It's all predestined!!

"They have forgotten the message of love, in their rush toward a notion of post-modernism."

Love. Hate. It all gets so confusing.
Isaiah 5 is brought to mind:

20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
21 Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!

The she-Bishop (1 Timothy 3:1-2 This is a true saying, if a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;... but I digress...) ... The she-Bishop talks about "love" when she is in fact advocating hatred.
1 John 5:2-3 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

God's commandments are very clear on sin. And particularly on the sin of homosexuality - it is an abomination in HIS eyes. And yet, Ms. Bishop Wagner advocates rebellion. Disobedience to God's commandments - and she calls this 'love'... No, this is hatred. Hatred for God's Word. And hatred for those trapped in the snares of sin - and telling them that they are well and that they have no need of repentance. This is cruelty beyond measure. Akin to telling a heroin addict that they have no need to kick their habit...

Woe onto them that call evil good, and good evil...

My guess is that the list of congregation members for the Old Catholic “church” is the same as the one for the Unitarian/Universalist “Church”.

Did you read the encyclical? His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI calls for a "global authority" over the U.S.' and the world's national sovereignty, immigration policies; natural resources, economics, health, and environmental programs, etc.

What a paranoid reading of the encyclical. Paranoid or purposely deceitful.

It always amazes me to see you or other Orthodox Presbyterian Calvinists railing against that straw interpretation of the encyclical.

It was America's first fascist president, a staunchly stiff-necked Calvinist Presbyterian named Calvin Coolidge, who invented global government (the League of Nations).

And you lecture Catholics about totalitarian mentality?

That's rich.

I've read your appreciation of Ratzinger's fascist "global authority" encyclical.

Do you likewise admire Cardinal George for his loyal support of Obama's health care plan?

They pick some weird sticks to beat the Church with, this one actually makes the Church look good. So of course, it would be a good time to branch out into other perceived Catholic flaws that have nothing to do with these Old Catholic dorks urging real Catholics to ignore Church teaching because it is against priestesses and gay clergy in “relationships”.

Freegards

I see that this poster has repeated his/her false statement thrice.

A falsehood is still false, even when repeated.

The practice of repeating falsehoods, in the apparent hope that folks will believe them, has a long and sordid history.
