There is no discussing Islam without discussing the Moderate Muslim. Like the Tooth Fairy or Santa Claus, the Moderate Muslim is often a topic of conversation, but rarely has much to say about himself. And even those who note that the Moderate Muslim is somewhat less in evidence than the Dodo or the Mammoth, turn instead to the project of reforming Islam.
It is of course possible to reform Islam. It is also possible to reform a serial killer. It is however not likely, and certainly not safe to stake your serial-killer prevention strategy on letting the serial killer run free, while you try and talk to him about the virtues of not cutting off people's heads and wearing their skin.
For over a thousand years Islam has been the serial killer of world civilization, decimating entire cultures and religions, practicing ethnic cleansing, genocide, terrorism and endless war. Islam is currently involved directly or indirectly in conflicts or terrorism on virtually every continent. Modern Islamist movements have fused the modern tools of war from IED's to Lawfare to Social Media, with ancient fanatical beliefs blended with the leavings of National Socialism and Communism to create a global killing machine.

The moderate Communist is also a mythical creature. You know, all of the eggheads who insist that it is wrong to decry the 100,000,000 people who’ve been killed by Communist nations in the 20th Century because that wasn’t “real” Communism?

My solution: The world should allow Muslims to live only in Muslim, Islamic countries. All Muslims currently living in the West would be required to return to their native, ancestral Muslim countries, and stay. Once they have all returned to their Muslims homelands, they should not be allowed to leave. They can travel, but only to other Muslim countries. There should be a quarantine on them, as if they had a contagious, fatal disease, which they do. We have granted them the privilege of living in the West, but they are not grateful, indeed, in return, they want to kill us and take over our countries. They have betrayed our hospitality, and our generosity, and it is time for them to go home and stay there.
And what of the people who want to exercise their God given right to a freedom of religion? It was a founding principle of this nation. Islamic theocratic rule discriminates.
How many of the world’s 1 billion muslims even had a choice in that decision?
The lands were inhabited by persons of other faiths before they were conquered by Islam.
Is Indonesia a muslim land? Is Spain? How about Michigan? Egypt?
Now there’s the only version of ‘No’ that they’ll understand.
Islam is a disease. You don’t negotiate with cancer. You can’t reason with the plague.
As he says, how can you reform a religion when all of its worst and most violent teachings go right back to Mohammed—who was a murderer, rapist, slaver, oath breaker, pederast, bully, liar, and general all-around vile human being.
Yet they consider him to be the best man who ever existed, the perfect model for all good Muslims to imitate.
Yes, from time to time Christians have acted badly, sometimes even in the name of Christianity. But they didn’t get that by imitating Jesus. Jesus didn’t carry a sword and use it to cut off heads, or to conquer, enslave, rape, and murder people. There is a basic and irresolvable difference between Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.

To go into greater detail than my flippant last post, reform of Islam really is outright impossible.
The core concept of Islam is that the non-Muslim world is in rebellion against Allah, largely because of ignorance. That which is against Allah is seen to be working contrary to the natural order. The entire purpose of Islam is to work so that all things might be submitted to the “Will of Allah” in the end. The Laws of Men must ALWAYS be subject to Shariah - the Laws of God. There is no room for compromise on this - if you ask a moderate Muslim whether they wish to live under Shariah Law they will invariably answer yes, every bit the same way if you ask a Christian whether they wish to live under the direct rule of Jesus Christ. The religion is called “Islam” - “Submit to God” - and that is the sort of submission they mean.
You can often reform nonessential particulars of a religion but it is impossible to reform a religion’s essential core itself. The only “reform” that is possible is the reform of society itself. Since spreading Christianity at gunpoint is very ill advised, pretty much the only option is to secularize their societies through media and commercialism so that they slowly care less and less what their religion teaches. Sure, the Islamicists will lash out but they will lash out against their own society, not ours, and their own society will impose the penalties on them.
I really feel that is the only answer. We pretty much have to do to them what liberals have been doing to us all these years. Maybe we can find a way to send some of our own liberals over there to help with the process.

Sultan is right on...we had better start this effort soon....stop treating islam as a religion, when in fact it is political ideology.

The appropriate response of any civilization that wishes to continue unharmed by the midaeval monstrosity that is Islam should be this:
“Threaten our civilization in any way and yous is forfeit.”
Then back it up by treating Islam as the vile plague that it is: eradicate it on the slightest violation of those terms. It wouldn’t take long for the sons of Mohammed to cross that line, would it?

Islam will not reform as the Koran says that man change Allah’s words. We need to protect ourselves by ending all Mosque Construction and Muslim immigration.

Uh, there is more to this than a headline. Reading the article is essential to making commentary.
I don’t think it’s possible to reform a middle-eastern death cult cleverly disguised as a religion, but if they would stop all violence, hate, intolerance and coercion we might be able to live alongside them.
