SNIPPET: "WASHINGTON Leading American Muslim organizations and community leaders are planning to launch a website and organize a summit where young Muslims can ask mainstream scholars questions as part of renewed efforts to combat extremism."
SNIPPET: "Usman Anwer, the District police officer in Sarghoda, Pakistan, confirmed to IOL Pakistan correspondent that the five arrestees are US nationals, including two of Pakistani background, one Yemeni origin and two of Egyptian background.
He identified them as Umer Farooq Ahmed, Ahmad Abdullah, Ramy Zamzam, Ihsan Hussein Yasser and Waqar-ul-Hassan Aman."
SNIPPET: "In addition to putting together theological rebuttals to misused verses and hadiths, CAIR, along with Muslim organizations, is organizing a summit where young Muslims can ask mainstream scholars questions at this year's conference of the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) and the Muslim American Society.
The annual conference will be held in Chicago from December 24 26.
Imam Mahdi Bray, the Executive Director of MAS Freedom, said the summit will also reach out to young Muslims to do peer mentoring."

“Today’s chuckle: CAIR, Mahdi Bray to “fight domestic extremism””
(December 10, 2009)
“The annual conference will be held in Chicago from December 24 26. “
I meant to ping you to this thread, earlier today.....
Better late than never....
Sounds like CAIR has a new public relations ploy called plausible deniability. They want to appear as if the left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing. Jihad is their game, if Muhamed is their name...
“CAIR, along with Muslim organizations, is organizing a summit...”
ME, along with some select friends, are organizing an old fashioned ass-whippin’ for the enemies of America.
I'm with ya. The greatest anti-truth, anti-freedom, anti-life collective in the history of civilization needs one...as do their supporters/sycophants in this country.
Hint to CAIR - if you want to hold an annual conference for the purpose of showing the non-extremist side of you, pick a different timeframe than the worldwide CHRISTIAN celebration of the birth of their founder!!! How many times have major ecumenical conferences been intentionally scheduled for EID???
“ICNA’s Rhetoric Doesn’t Match its Books”
July 8, 2010
SNIPPET: “The Islamic Circle of North America’s (ICNA) 2010 South Central Regional Conference last month at the University of Houston was more than just the local edition of ICNA’s yearly theme, “Save Family Save Society.”
Sessions like “Peer Pressure: Good or Bad” and “Parents and Our Responsibility” offered reasonable emphasis on issues of concern to any family.
However, increasing radicalism among Muslim American youth is a concern as well, and some of the literature available at the conference stood in contradiction with the stated goal of ‘saving society.’ Books by Islamist ideologues were widely available to conference attendees, including those by the godfather of modern Sunni terror movements and a Pakistani extremist who dreams of global Islamic governance.
These materials were in keeping with ICNA’s long-standing promotion of extremist Islamist literature, a trend which was documented by the Investigative Project on Terrorism in connection with the radicalization of five young Americans arrested in Pakistan last December while trying to join the fight against U.S. troops.”
SNIPPET: “ICNA has its own book service, which was created to provide “Islamic literature to Muslims living in North America.” At the South Central Regional Conference, it provided the most radical titles for sale.”
