The Rev. Oral Roberts, the internationally known television evangelist and faith healer who founded Oral Roberts University, died Monday in Newport Beach, Calif. He was 91.
According to a release, his son, Richard, and daughter, Roberta, were at his side. Funeral services are pending.
The often-controversial charismatic minister built Oral Roberts University, the now-closed City of Faith Medical and Research Center and the University Village Retirement Center in Tulsa.

Prayers to him. I hope he was a good guy. Not sure who FREEPERS are supporting now a days and have not heard of this guy.
He was a pioneer in fleecing the flock and devouring widows houses.

I’ve never heard one bad word about Oral Roberts. The usual attack dogs will be on this thread I’m sure spewing their bile at the dead.
Prayers for his family and have a great homecoming Oral. I’m sure he’s with the Lord and having a great time.
*The Oral Roberts University jet was used to take one daughter and several friends on a senior trip to Orlando and the Bahamas with the $29,411 trip being billed to the ministry as an “evangelistic function of the president.”
*Oral’s son had his home renovated 11 times during the past 14 years with donor money.
*Oral’s son procured for his wife a Mercedes-Benz convertible and Lexus SUV (I really don't have a problem with this particular one; however, it is a little gauche when you purport to be a model of Christian charity.)
I totally agree with your post! He is HOME and we can only imagine what a homecoming!
I will miss Oral Roberts, he stood real tall in my books. His errors were not moral or heretical.
And he won’t have a funeral, he’ll have a Homegoing celebration. They were a LOT of people who went to that medical center and got treated for free. Kids, etc.
One of our local TV ministry founders passed and it was the most uplifting ceremony I’ve ever seen. They put it on DVD for anyone who wanted a copy.
Fame and money are soul killers. Very few can handle them.

When I was a kid watching BLACK & WHITE TV I was awed and truthfully scared a little by the hands on the forehead of believers and “HEAL” being shouted
