You really hate those people.
But, if you want to be consistent -- just accuse Jesus of being a "hater" of the Pharisees/religious legalists of his day. Jesus had at least one compliment for the Pharisees -- and that was when he told others that unless their righteousness exceeded that of the Pharisees, they would in no wise inherit God's kingdom. But he was speaking about their external behavior.
When He talked about their internal make-up, He described them as being like whitewashed tombs -- corrupt on the inside.
What's also interesting is apparently just as you don't ask the Lds missionaries to leave us alone -- showing your two-sidedness -- apparently you likewise don't or won't address the Lds "scriptures" which reference ALL Christian sects...Catholicism, Protestantism, and Orthodox -- as being 100% filled with "corrupt professors" who believe 100% creeds which apparently are an "abomination" to the Mormon god.
If you really believe that those who speak negatively about other faiths "hate" them -- then why no edict issued toward Mormons about these things??? You'll find them in the Mormon "scriptures" -- Joseph Smith - History vv. 18-20 in the Pearl of Great Price.
Or are you going to continue to reserve your hyperbole for just one side of this discussion -- showing that your application of your personal standards apparently don't hold weight across the board?
This is the RELIGION forum; isn’t it?
My comment wasn't meant as an insult to you nor a rhetorical maneuver. It seems you are a little wound up about them. I apologize if I offended you. Please have a nice and blessed remainder of the day. freeatl
And all I was saying was that whatever the "PR" version is of a given region there's an underside. Take Atlanta, for example, I'm sure it's a wonderful place for many families & great Christian influence. Yet, still, law enforcement officials say Atlanta is "the hub" for where sex traffickers bring their victims.

Apology accepted. Have a wonderful new year!
Can you imagine how much better our nation would be, if Churches would turn back to teaching responsiblity? Seriously, we have fallen a long way as a nation and a lot of it is easy Christianity.

Responsibility is not equal to salvation by works.
Secondly, what exactly is “easy Christianity”?
Mormons often think that “salvation by grace” means you can sin as you want. That simply isn’t true. Christians do good works BECAUSE we are saved not in ORDER to be saved. We do it to please God, as an offering, not in order to earn Godhood (LDS doctrine).
Thinking you can have ANY part in your salvation (working your way to Heaven) is MUCH MUCH easier than trusting someone else to do it for you (Jesus).
I have been on both sides (LDS and Christian). Surrendering my life to Christ was MUCH harder than “doing all I can do” was.
largest most functional group in our society. I really like the teaching of having 7 years of food storage, weapons and survival tactics. I also like that they are flat out conservative, have low crime where they dominate.

Recent studies have shown otherwise. The overuse of prozac, high rates of depression and suicide are signs of dysfunction not function.
It is not 7 years, it is 1-3 years. In practical application, food often fails to get rotated and thus becomes a waste of money. It is also often seen as hoarding, when I was LDS (I admit this MAY have changed) there was never any talk of sharing your food storage.
Those like Romney and Ried show they are not “flat out” conservative. Outside of Utah, they tend to me much less conservative than “behind the Zion curtain”.
Low crime is not necessarily true either. Utah has one of the highest rates of white collar crime. A good book on the subject is Anson Shupe “The Darker Side of Virtue: Corruption, Scandal, and the Mormon Empire”.
Agreed.
“nice behavior” amongst its Utah neighbors? “ .....
I rather hang out with a bunch of ruffnecks, and KNOW who they are and how they are then come across someone or some people who put a smile on their face and have “ nice behavior “ ....

One of the movies recommended for those (esp for women) coming out of the Mormon Church is the original “Stepford Wives”. It is especially noticeable in Utah. My husband commented on it once, how he saw the same “blank happy stare” on women’s faces there that he saw on mine when I was LDS.
Mostly, IMO, it is because there is so much pressure to make the LDS church look good, and having real issues and problems is a sign that a person is not “living the gospel” properly. This leads to an outward apprearance of happiness even when your whole world is crashing down.
Also, IMO, this is less prevalent outside of Utah, partly because LDS are more likely to work outside the home and have non LDS friends to confide it.
careful we LDS might smile at you...
gosh and watch you melt down
Oh dear!
This the anti commandment...
That ye shall daily mock and bash those others!

Well, resty, don’t do it then.
It’s ok. We forgive you.
And then there is the nasty little business about JS’s claim that ALL churches are corrupt and all their creeds are an ABOMINATION.
That is bashing.
Hit ‘n run, LOL.
So confused silly girl that was the Lord rebuking the tradition of men!
