It was nice of the poster to at least imply she did not do it herself..

Good morning! I would like to first thankI would like to first thank St. Faustina for bringing me here to Stockbridge and to the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy! I also need to thank several people: Shrine Rector Fr. Anthony Gramlich, MIC, who made this possible; Christine Kruszyna, Father's secretary; the Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception; Frank Rizzo, a volunteer here at the Shrine we met on our trip in October of 2008; Fr. Robert Kelleher, my pastor at All Saints Parish in Plymouth, Pa., for his guidance and encouragement to contact the Shrine about my healing; my deacon, Joe DeVizia, who further advised and encouraged me; my wonderful parents, Florence and Donald Secor, who weren't able to make the trip here with me, for raising me in a home filled with love and faith; my brother Rich; Debi, my sister-in-law;

And where is the name of that Jewish guy??

Eternal Father,
I offer you the Body and Blood,
Soul and Divinity,
of Your Dearly Beloved Son,
Our Lord, Jesus Christ,
in atonement for our sins
and those of the whole world.

On the ten small beads of each decade, say:
For the sake of His sorrowful Passion,
have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Conclude with (Say 3 Times):
Holy God,
Holy Mighty One,
Holy Immortal One,
have mercy on us
and on the whole world.

Optional Closing Prayer
Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us, that in difficult moments we might not despair nor become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is Love and Mercy itself.

Insight du jour:

Protestants are so legalistic that we would have had to invent the word if it didn't already exist.

RN: Every good and perfect gift comes from above, right? So you never say thank you to anyone but God, right?

I mean what is more perfect than a glass of water on a hot day when you've been working? (Okay, I mean other than a beer.)

So if someone gets you a nice glass of water when you've been crawling down the rows and stripping the roots from the scions and the shoots from the stocks, you don't thank the person who brought the water, do you? That would be idolatry! God moved the person; God made the water, and the silicon dioxide in the glass and all the rest. Why thank the person?

TR: Aside from the legalism, some protestants are essentially dualistic. Religion, and religious truth and phenomena are over HERE, and over THERE are things like glasses of water. There is no continuum, despite what they say. You pump my gas, that's just you. I have a vision, okay, THAT's God.

It's so silly, legalistic, and dualistic.

The lady giving the address is talking about St. Faustina. She is not making a theological statement about the chain of causality from the first mover down to the way the ground didn't collapse under her feet as she walked to the podium.

The legalism is that at every breath we are supposed to ignore the intermediaries if the Protestants think that it's a "religious" affair.

The dualism is because neither their thought nor their behavior is consistent with that attitude. Instead they say that when it comes to gas and glasses of water, it's okay to thank the intermediary, but when it come to healings or less everyday graces, you should make sure that everyone (who already knows it) hears you say that it all came from God.

It is a Procrustean bed of discourse, which, if we lay down in it for a minute would not only stretch or crop us to fit but would also tie our tongues, insisting that we satisfy the delicate and persnickety requirements of the Protestants before we could say anything else.

We do not live our lives looking over our shoulders to see if some exigent Protestant is looking down her blue nose to see if our discourse meets her standards. "For freedom Christ has set us free," and we are confident in His love and understanding. We know He knows that when we take time out from our daily round of prayers to thank some intermediary, we have not forgotten Him, nor have we forgotten that we owe everything to the Father.

If gloomy and rheumy Protestants, fearful that an easily offended God might take umbrage at our praising what He does through His saints, want to rebuke us, what SHOULD we do but laugh and carry on? We are IN Love, and will not readily leave it, leave HIM, to cater to the self-inflicted fears of Protestant legalisms.

First, I WAS on topic. The dualism of Protestants interferes with their seeing that praise of Saints is praise of what God does in his saints.

Second:

My friend assured me that if I prayed the Chaplet of The Divine Mercy, a prayer given to St. Faustina by Jesus Christ, I would be fine.

I was elated to learn about the promises Jesus gave to her, including:

• "Souls who spread the honor of My mercy I shield through their entire lives as a tender mother her infant, and at the hour of death I will not be a Judge for them, but the Merciful Savior." (1075)

• "My daughter, write that the greater the misery of a soul, the greater its right to My mercy; [urge] all souls to trust in the unfathomable abyss of My mercy, because I want to save them all. On the cross, the fountain of My mercy was opened wide by the lance for all souls — no one have I excluded!" (1182)

• "Say unceasingly the chaplet that I have taught you. Whoever will recite it will receive great mercy at the hour of death." (687)

• "I desire that the whole world know My infinite mercy. I desire to grant unimaginable graces to those who trust in my Mercy." (687)

• And, "Write that when they say this chaplet in the presence of the dying, I will stand between My Father and the dying person, not as the just Judge but as the Merciful Savior." (1541)

The promises from Jesus filled me with great hope, that even I, a sinner, has a tool by which I can receive mercy — and one day see our Lord in heaven!

3. I would do everything I could to spread the message of The Divine Mercy and to encourage prayer and devotion to Jesus and St. Faustina.

[Numerous references to "The Divine Mercy"]

But in my heart, I knew that if, through the intercession of St. Faustina, The Divine Mercy had cured me, I would not get them back.

Jesus and St. Faustina are here to assist us and want us to get to Heaven.

And where is the name of that Jewish guy??

You can't find it? Read the whole text.

But in my heart, I knew that if, through the intercession of St. Faustina, The Divine Mercy had cured me, I would not get them back.

Whose mercy is Divine?

If you can't "that Jewish guy" here, then you know nothing of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy.

Who's divine mercy?
The Chaplet of Divine Mercy

1. Begin with the Sign of the Cross, 1 Our Father, 1 Hail Mary and The Apostles Creed.

2. Then on the Our Father Beads say the following:
Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.

3. On the 10 Hail Mary Beads say the following:
For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

(Repeat step 2 and 3 for all five decades).

4. Conclude with (three times):
Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

The Divine Mercy IS God.

"The Divine Mercy" is a title, or a way of referring to Christ by focusing on an aspect of His eternal holiness. Other examples of this would be "Redeemer," "Saviour," "The Divine Physician," "The Prince of Peace," "The Good Shepherd," etc.

In times of illness, one might focus on Him as "The Divine Physician." In times when one is acutely conscious of sin and the need for redemption, one might focus on Him as "The Divine Mercy" or "Redeemer."

Hope this is helpful :)
