Even with the significant areas of doctrinal agreement between Catholics and Protestants (see Part One), a notable number of Protestant fundamentalists insist that Catholicism is an anti-Christian cult. Organizations and individuals (some of them quite popular) who classify Catholicism as a cult include: Chick Publications, Alberto Rivera's Anti-Christ Information Center, Tony Alamo's Christian Foundation, Bill Jackson's Christians Evangelizing Catholics, Albert James Dager's Media Spotlight, and Dave Hunt's The Berean Call. (This is not to say that all of these people belong in the same category the latter three are more respectable than the former three.) Actually this is just a few of many individuals and organizations that classify Catholicism as an anti-Christian cult. Because their position receives a wide hearing in some evangelical circles, we must address their claim.

Chick Publications
ORLY??
No...it’s not a cult.
LOL
No, it’s not.
Yes.
LOL...is it?
This is a stupid thing to even consider...I don’t agree with a lot of how Catholics might practice their faith but there are many who love Christ and the rest will come out in the wash when we all see Him....
There are false religions...In my opinion Jehovah Witness, Chrisitan Science and such would go into that.
I agree with the author, Catholicism is NOT a cult and Mormonism is.
And “chick tracts” are just creepy.
I agree with your assessment. There is a lot of friction between some Protestants and Catholics. People who hold to the extreme view that Catholicism is a cult probably need to reconsider the meaning of the term.
Interesting. Most of those cult accusers are based their leader’s vision of salvation.
Good lookin out! :-D
And YOUR OPINION is based .. upon what?
yeah, that right there pretty much puts the author in the nuthatch as far as I’m concerned.
chick tracts are good for nothing but laughing at.
How about this, I believe most humans to be hypocrites. This whole lent thing is too funny for me. As a line cook I find it funny that people, for 40 some days, give something up. How about acting like this all year long ? Hypocrisy has taken ahold of our faiths. Time to pray and worship privately. Seriously, the whole concept of I’ll teach you the word of god, now donate is the same way I don’t like Charity groups. I know it’s a harsh view to take and I’ll answer for that later but I at least am willing to acknowledge religious groups in general are starting to lose their ways. I’d rather pray and communicate with god while laying in my bed and from the heart then telling someone my “sins” for the week. Again, my opinion.
Do you own a flame suit?
Personal investigation and affiliation.
That’s pretty much the stand I’ve taken on Mormonism. However, I found it strange that when the homosexuals were trying to defeat Prop 8 it was the Mormons who came out in full force against them.
Oh I don’t know, that sounds like a pretty level headed philosophy to me. IMHO
