Wow!

Welcome home brethren - we have been saving some of the choicest wine for this celebration!

Please pardon any awkwardness as we get reacquainted.

I went to some of the ACA’s websites, and I noticed that they have an office of “deaconess.”

You're probably referring to a line in the "Affirmation of St. Louis" that expressed a desire to re-instate the office as it existed in the very early years of the church. It was a lay office, not an ordained office. My understanding is that it originated primarily to assist women in some of the more delicate tasks before them (such as preparing for their baptism in which they would disrobe and put on a white robe. Obviously, you would not want the male deacons assisting with that.

You can rest assured that the TAC churches profess a strictly male, three fold ordained ministry. To my knowledge, there are no deaconesses in the ACA. If they are, they are clear that they are still of the laity, not the ordained ministry.

First You get Your RCIA Form, get your Adult catechism, Then Buy a True Catholic Bible with the 7 Books you were Missing, Pay the $60 registration ...

Peter has spoken through Benedict XVI and there is now a path for these people to come "corporately" into the full communion of the Catholic Church, retaining the best of the "Anglican patrimony" along the way. You should be rejoicing along with the rest of the household.

I have no idea what function they serve in the ACA

At the time that these people left the offical strucutres of the various Anglican churches (coincident with the innovation of supposedly christian priestesses), it was hoped that a re-establishment of the lay office of deaconess might establish an officially recognized "ministry" for women. Nothing ever came of it as no one found a need for deaconesses.

Might be early...but WELCOME HOME!!

Thank you. Actually, it's belated for me as I was received into the full communion of the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil Mass in 2009. The ACA is my former ecclesiastical home and I couldn't be happier to see my brother and sisters coming home now.

Great news in both cases. The Holy Spirit, if we let Him, leads all home to the Church.

Amen!

That would mean two or three new Catholic parishes within driving distance of my home.

Welcome home... it is amazing when you use all the resources of the church through 2 Millenium it is mind Boggling to look at Thomas Aquinas St Augustine... then Have someone like Archbishop Sheen who said 55 years ago.. first Contraception then abortion then Euthanasia and then a VERY Violent society! Pope paul VI talking about Humane Vitae in 1968 predicted an Outbreak of Homosexual Marriage as a result of Oral contraception in Marriage.

People who accept Our blessed Virgin mary from the eyes of God Himself!

Welcome Home!

That’s wonderful!!! They have had a bad time of it. The Anglican church in my town broke for the Anglican establishment and all of their assets were frozen...I’m glad they are coming home.

Thank you, Traditional Anglicans, for bringing your piety, your devotion and your faith to The Church. The beautiful symphony of the Anglican rite will enhance, deepen and strengthen the symphony that is The Church, all for the greater Glory of God.

This Catholic is humbled by your choice and grateful for what I know will be a reinvigoration of the Faith led by Traditional Anglicans. Thank you and we're glad for us to be with you!

Maronites are not a sect. They are a specific rite of the Church but they are an integral part of the Church, just like any Latin Rite Catholic (we’re not “Roman”, we’re Latin Rite). Ditto for Syro-Malabar, Syro-Malankar ,Chaldean Catholics.
